The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.

Verdict (TL;DR): Pairtree is a genuinely useful Australian-built farm data dashboard, and the most trustworthy one on data sovereignty: it was the first service in the country to earn the National Farmers' Federation Farm Data Code certification (badge 0001). If your farm runs a tangle of disconnected agtech — a John Deere account here, AgriWebb there, soil probes, weather stations, AuctionsPlus and grain feeds — Pairtree pulls them into one screen for $40/month plus a setup fee per integration. But set your expectations correctly. This is a data-aggregation and decision-support platform, not an AI product. Despite the "Intelligence" in the company name, we found no evidence of a verifiable machine-learning model doing prediction or recommendation. Buy it for the plumbing and the sovereignty, not for an AI brain. Score: 18/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Australian Fit: 5/5 — gate passed. Last reviewed: 20 September 2026 by Adam.

What Pairtree is

Pairtree is a farm data integration platform. Its job is to take the dozens of separate apps, sensors and services a modern Australian farm accumulates and translate them into one consistent format on a single dashboard.

The company calls the dashboard Pairtree PLUS. It connects "100+ different integrations and APIs" — partners named on its site include John Deere, AgriWebb, Xero and Syngenta. On top of those optional connections, PLUS bundles its own data layers: mapping and satellite imagery (Sentinel NDVI), weather (current and historical), livestock markets via the MLA National Livestock Reporting Service and AuctionsPlus, grain futures from the Chicago Board of Trade, iGrain wheat and canola prices, and a spray-planning tool called Spraymate.

Pairtree was co-founded in 2018 by Hamish Munro — a fifth-generation farmer from the Central West of NSW — with Micky Young and Robbie Scott, and is based in the Central West region around Orange, NSW [founding year and founders attributed to the company's own evokeAG and LinkedIn profiles and the Talking AgTech podcast (secondary); the company is not date-stamped on its own site, checked 7 June 2026]. The pitch the company uses is "data stacking" — centralising disparate data sets into one login so they can be viewed and compared together for "higher level analytics and greater decision support".

That phrase — decision support — is the honest description of what Pairtree does. It puts the right numbers in front of you. It does not, on the evidence available, make the decision for you.

A note on the "AI" question

We score tools in this category on whether they deliver genuine AI value to Australian farmers, so we looked hard for it here. We could not find a verifiable machine-learning model inside Pairtree.

The company's own materials are careful and largely don't overclaim. The homepage talks about "new insights with data-backed decision support," not artificial intelligence. The PLUS feature page makes "no explicit AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics claims" — it markets consolidation and visualisation. There is no published model, no documented predictive feature, and no recommendation engine we could substantiate against a primary source as at 7 June 2026 — we checked the homepage, the PLUS feature page and the wider site.

So we review Pairtree for what it demonstrably is: the integration and aggregation layer of the farm tech stack. That is a legitimate and valuable role. It just isn't an AI one, and we won't pretend otherwise.

What it costs in Australia

Pairtree is one of the few tools in this category that publishes real AUD pricing — a credit in a sector full of "contact sales."

Plan Price (AUD) What you get
Free trial $0 for 30 days All PLUS subscription features; does not include agtech integrations
Pairtree PLUS $40/month, or $480/year excl. GST The PLUS dashboard: mapping & satellite, weather, livestock and grain markets, Spraymate. Unlimited users, up to three locations ($10/month per extra), 50GB storage
Per integration $250 setup + $40/month service fee, each Each optional agtech connection (e.g. John Deere, soil probes)

GST note: Pairtree quotes its annual price as "$480 / year excl. GST", so a GST-registered farm business adds 10% and can generally claim the GST credit and deduct the cost against farm income. Confirm the treatment with your accountant — this is general information, not tax advice. As an Australian vendor billing in AUD, there's no imported-services complication and no FX guesswork here, which is refreshing.

Read the per-integration line carefully, because it changes the maths. The $40/month base is cheap. But every device or service you connect carries a $250 one-off setup and its own $40/month service fee. A farm wanting three integrations is looking at $750 upfront and $160/month ongoing, not $40. That's still reasonable for what it does, but it's not the headline number.

How it works in practice

The base PLUS dashboard works on day one. You subscribe, and the bundled layers — weather, satellite, markets, mapping — are there to view together. For a farmer who currently checks the BOM in one tab, AuctionsPlus in another and grain prices in a third, that consolidation alone has value.

The integrations are where the work — and the cost — sits. Connecting your John Deere Operations Center or a brand of soil moisture probe isn't a free self-serve toggle. It's a paid, set-up service per connection. Pairtree's role is to translate each provider's data into a consistent format so it lands on the same dashboard as everything else. Once connected, the value is real: you compare paddock satellite imagery against soil moisture against the spray plan without exporting CSVs.

The honest practical limit is the same one that limits every cloud dashboard in Australian agriculture: connectivity. A dashboard that lives in the browser is only as useful as the signal at the homestead. Pairtree doesn't solve mobile black spots, and broadacre operations out past the Newell will hit that wall regardless of how good the software is. Pairtree is a Program Partner in the NSW DPI's Farms of the Future connectivity program, which helps signal-poor farms, but the tool itself assumes you can get online.

What it does well

  • Transparent AUD pricing. A published $40/month and $480/year excl. GST, in dollars, from an Australian vendor. In a category addicted to "request a quote," that honesty is rare and welcome.
  • Genuine breadth of integrations. 100-plus connectable agtech services — and the company says around 130 in practice — covering the big names a real Australian farm actually runs.
  • Australian market data baked in. MLA National Livestock Reporting Service, AuctionsPlus, iGrain wheat and canola, CBOT grain futures — the feeds a livestock or grain operation checks anyway, in one place.
  • The strongest data-sovereignty story in the category. First service in Australia to be NFF Farm Data Code certified, badge 0001 (see Australian fit).
  • Built and supported from regional NSW. Based in the Central West around Orange (its registered address is Molong), founded by a fifth-generation Central West farmer. This is a tool built by someone who has stood in the paddock it's designed for.

What it doesn't do well

  • The "AI" is, on the evidence, a dashboard — not a model. The company name says "Intelligence," but we found no verifiable machine-learning capability anywhere on the live site as at 7 June 2026. If you're shopping specifically for AI-driven prediction or recommendation, this isn't that. It's aggregation and visualisation.
  • Per-integration fees stack quickly. $250 setup plus $40/month for each connection means the true cost of a well-connected farm is several times the $40 headline. Budget for what you'll actually plug in.
  • Connectivity-dependent. A browser dashboard is only as good as your signal. Mobile black spots remain the binding constraint for remote operations, and Pairtree can't fix that.
  • Limited public detail on security and uptime. Pairtree publishes strong data-governance credentials via the NFF code, but we found no published uptime SLA, ISO 27001 certification or detailed security whitepaper on the live site as at 7 June 2026. For a small vendor that's normal; it's still a gap to weigh.
  • Lock-in risk lives in the integrations. The value comes from connections you pay to set up. If you leave, that wiring — and the unified view — goes with the subscription. Ask about data export before you commit.

Australian fit

This is where Pairtree is at its strongest, and it's the reason the tool earns its place despite the thin AI story.

Data sovereignty and the NFF Farm Data Code. Pairtree PLUS was the first service in Australia certified under the National Farmers' Federation Australian Farm Data Code, carrying certification number 0001. The code is a voluntary standard that requires a provider to be transparent about how farmer data is collected, used, stored and shared, and to keep control of that data with the farmer. The NFF register lists "Pairtree Intelligence — PairteePLUS — Certification Number 0001 — Certified," with an audit report dated 26 September 2025 confirming ongoing compliance. Pairtree's own framing is plain: "how, when and who you share with is totally up to you", and CEO Hamish Munro has said the badge "tells farmers that we can be trusted and there'll be no nasty surprises down the track". For Australian farmers — rightly wary of where their paddock, yield and livestock data ends up — this is a distinctive, verifiable trust signal that imported platforms simply don't have. Note what the certification is and isn't: it certifies compliance with the data code's principles; it is not a broad endorsement, and it is not the same as an ISO 27001 security certification.

AUD and GST. Priced in Australian dollars, billed by an Australian company, quoted excl. GST so a registered farm business knows exactly where it stands. No FX, no imported-services GST puzzle.

Australian data and context. The bundled feeds are the ones an Australian operation actually uses: MLA livestock reporting, AuctionsPlus indicators, iGrain grain prices. The integration partner list reads like an Australian farm's actual tech stack.

AU support and programs. Central West NSW-based, with Australian support quoted at a response "within 48hrs", and an official Program Partner in the NSW DPI Farms of the Future program [Farms of the Future partner via NSW DPI, secondary, checked 7 June 2026].

Australian Fit score: 5/5. This is as locally grounded as agtech gets — built in regional NSW, billed in AUD, and the first holder of the country's own farm-data trust mark.

Alternatives

  • AgriWebb — the better-known Australian livestock management platform, and notably one of the services Pairtree can integrate. Consider AgriWebb if your priority is day-to-day livestock record-keeping and compliance rather than a multi-source dashboard. See our AgriWebb review.
  • DataFarming — an Australian platform leaning harder into satellite imagery and variable-rate agronomy. Consider it if cropping analytics, not integration breadth, is your main need. See our DataFarming review.
  • Cibo Labs — Australian pasture and biomass monitoring from satellite data, strong for grazing decisions. Consider it if your question is "how much feed is in the paddock," not "how do I unify my apps." See our Cibo Labs review.
  • Halter — a different proposition entirely: solar GPS collars for virtual fencing and active herd control, with a genuine on-animal hardware-and-software product. Consider Halter if you want AI-driven livestock control, not a data dashboard. See our Halter review.

Bottom line

Pairtree is a good tool sitting under a slightly misleading category. Judge it as "AI agriculture" and it underwhelms — we found no verifiable machine-learning model, and the company, to its credit, mostly doesn't claim one. Judge it as the integration and data-sovereignty layer of an Australian farm's tech stack, and it's one of the better options going, for honest reasons: it's built in Orange, billed in plain AUD, and it holds the country's first Farm Data Code certification.

If you're a farmer drowning in disconnected apps and you care about keeping control of your own data, the $40/month base is an easy yes — just go in with eyes open about the $250-plus-$40-a-month-per-integration reality, the connectivity dependence, and the absence of a real AI engine. Start with the 30-day trial to test the base dashboard (note the trial doesn't include integrations), then connect one feed you'll actually use and decide whether the unified view earns its keep.

It does not win our category Top Pick — that requires a genuine AI capability we couldn't substantiate here. But for the specific job of stacking your farm's data in one trustworthy, Australian-owned place, Pairtree is a credible, four-star buy.

Score

Criterion Score Why
Value for Money 4/5 Transparent $40/month and $480/year excl. GST in AUD, plus a 30-day trial — strong, but per-integration $250 + $40/month fees stack the real cost well above the headline
Ease of Use 3/5 Base dashboard is usable day one; each integration is a paid, set-up service rather than a self-serve toggle, and the whole thing depends on rural connectivity
Feature Depth 3/5 Broad, genuine integration breadth and useful bundled AU feeds — but it's aggregation and visualisation; no verifiable AI/ML or predictive layer found on the live site (7 June 2026)
Australian Fit 5/5 Orange-built, AUD-billed, AU market feeds, and the first NFF Farm Data Code certified service (badge 0001) — the strongest local sovereignty story in the category
Reliability & Support 3/5 AU-based support (quoted response "within 48hrs") and an NFF compliance audit; but a small vendor with no published uptime SLA or ISO security certification we could find (7 June 2026)
Total 18/25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good

Australian Fit gate: 5/5 — gate passed. Not named category Top Pick: the publication's AI bar isn't met (no verifiable ML capability).

  • 20 Sep 2026 — Pairtree is still trading; the dead-domain flag was a false alarm. Our monitor watched pairtree.farm, which now has no DNS at all (NXDOMAIN at the .farm registry, checked 20 September 2026). That was never the company's live host. Pairtree Intelligence Pty Ltd trades at pairtree.co, the domain this review has cited since June. Pricing re-verified and unchanged: $40/month excl. GST, integrations $250 set-up plus $40/month each. Two feature additions since June — a Livestock Summary view and 16/30-day local forecasts from OpenWeatherMap — neither of which is an AI capability, so the 18/25 score stands.
