These terms cover your use of theaidirectory.com.au. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it.
In these terms, "the AI Directory", "we", "us" and "our" mean The AI Directory Australia (ABN 80 471 576 336), the publisher of this site. "You" means anyone who uses the site. By using the site, you accept these terms.
What this site is
The AI Directory Australia is an independent editorial publication. We review, score and compare AI tools for Australian readers, and we publish a newsletter. We are not a reseller, a broker, or an agent for any vendor we write about. We don't sell the tools we review.
Reading the site is free. You can join as a free member to get Price Watch emails, become a paid member for the extras listed on the sign-up screen (a monthly AUD price ledger, early access to new editions, a place on the supporters page), or leave a tip. None of that is needed to read any review. Paid membership is billed by Stripe, renews until you cancel, and can be cancelled from your account at any time; the current period runs to its end and is not refunded except where the Australian Consumer Law requires it. If you join on the 3-day free trial, your card is charged when the trial ends; cancel before then and you won't be charged.
Our reviews are opinion, reached by a stated method
Every score and every verdict on this site is our editorial opinion. We reach it by a method we publish in full on the Methodology page. Five criteria, five points each, twenty-five in total, with an Australian Fit gate on the top rating.
The method is public so you can argue with it. The opinion is ours, and it is honestly held. It is not a statement of fact about a vendor, and it is not a guarantee that a tool will suit you.
Your circumstances are yours. Read the criteria that matter to you, not just the number.
We don't warrant that pricing or features are current
AI vendors change prices, rename plans, move features between tiers and withdraw products, often without notice. We verify every price against the vendor's own pages on the day we write, and we date and archive what we saw.
We do not warrant that any price, plan name, feature or availability claim on this site is current when you read it. Always confirm the price with the vendor before you buy. The vendor's checkout is the only quote that binds anyone.
Where we convert a US-dollar price to Australian dollars, the figure is a guide. It is converted at a rate we cite on the page and shown before GST. Exchange rates move, so our conversion is not a price.

Links to other sites
We link out constantly — to vendor pricing pages, documentation, news coverage and archived snapshots. Those sites are not ours.
We don't control them and we don't endorse everything on them. We are not responsible for their content, their terms, or how they handle your information. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site under their rules.
Where a link is an affiliate link, we say so beside the link. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
Our work, and what you may do with it
The words, reviews, scores, score rails, comparison tables, roundups, newsletters, logo and page design on this site are ours. Copyright in them is retained.
You may:
- read, print and save pages for your own use
- quote a short extract with attribution and a link back to the page you took it from
- link to any page on the site, including deep links, without asking
You may not:
- republish a review, roundup or comparison in full, in any medium
- scrape, copy or re-host the directory, the scores, or any substantial part of the corpus
- use our name, masthead, scores or Editor's Choice badge in advertising or on a product page without our written permission
- imply that we endorse a product, a company or a person when we haven't
Vendor names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners. We use them to identify what we are writing about — that is all.
If you want to reproduce something properly, ask. We usually say yes.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully, and don't break it. Specifically, don't:
- try to reach any part of the site, its hosting or its accounts that isn't public
- interfere with the site's operation, security or availability
- run automated collection against the site beyond what our robots file allows
- misrepresent yourself when contacting us, including posing as a vendor you don't represent
- send us anything unlawful, defamatory, or confidential to someone else
We may block access to anyone who does these things.
When you send us something
If you send us a news tip, a correction, feedback or a letter, you are giving us permission to act on it. We may also quote it in our editorial, unless you tell us not to.
Say so in your email if you want to stay anonymous, and we will honour that. We protect tipster identities by default. Don't send us confidential material you are not free to share.
Nothing here is professional advice
The AI Directory is journalism. It is general information written for a general audience.
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, accounting, medical, employment or other professional advice. Nothing on it is advice about your particular circumstances.
That applies most sharply to our Legal, Finance and HR coverage. Every review in those categories carries the same note: an AI tool does not replace a qualified professional. Before you act on anything here, get advice from someone qualified who knows your situation.
Liability
We put real work into being accurate, and we correct errors in public. Most of this site is free to read, and even for paid members we can't take responsibility for the decisions you make after reading it.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss you suffer from relying on the site. That includes a tool you bought after reading about it, a price that had changed, or the site being unavailable.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Privacy and cookies
How we handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy. How the site uses cookies is set out in the Cookie Notice. Both apply to your use of this site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top and record what changed in the update history below. Material changes will be obvious on the page, not buried.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of the Australian state or territory in which the publisher's principal place of business is located. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory, the Federal Court of Australia, and any other Australian court that has jurisdiction.

Update history
- 12 Oct 2026 — The publisher is now named as the business, The AI Directory Australia (ABN 80 471 576 336); the editor's name no longer sits in the operator line.
- 9 Oct 2026 — Named the publisher and ABN. "The law that applies" now points to the state or territory of the publisher's principal place of business, and adds the Federal Court of Australia. The ABN is in the contact block. Added the 3-day free trial for paid membership. "Liability" now reflects that paid members exist, and carries the one statement that your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are preserved.
- 7 Oct 2026 — "The law that applies" now names no state: the law in force in Australia, with non-exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts, and the Australian Consumer Law preserved. "Reading the site is free" now mentions free membership and tips, which exist since launch.
