Zeely AI Review Australia 2026: Fast Ads, Murky Billing

The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.
Skip to the verdictPricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).
Verdict (TL;DR): Zeely AI turns a product link into avatar-led video and static ads in minutes. The speed is real and the avatars are decent. But this is a US app built for Shopify dropshippers, not Australian businesses. Web pricing is USD-only. There is no AUD billing or GST handling on the website — the App Store sells in Australian dollars with GST included, on a different and inconsistent ladder — and no Australian data residency. A 12% fee rides on your Meta ad spend. The billing model is aggressive and easy to misread. Useful for fast ad drafts — not a tool I would trust with a campaign budget unwatched.
Score: 12/25 — ★★★ Good

What Zeely AI actually is
Zeely AI is an AI ad-creation and campaign platform. You paste a product URL. It writes ad copy, generates static ads from templates, and produces short avatar-led "talking reel" videos, then launches the campaign straight to Meta (Source 1).
That is the real product, and it is worth naming plainly. Despite how Zeely is sometimes pitched, this is not a dedicated lipsync or dubbing studio. There is no standalone tool here for re-voicing your footage into other languages. What you get is an ad factory: copy, static creatives, and AI avatars reading a generated script (Source 1).
The vendor is Zeely, Inc., a Delaware company registered in Wilmington (Source 4). The app runs on the web, iOS and Android, and is available on the Australian App Store under developer Zeely, Inc. (Source 5).
So I am reviewing what Zeely is: a fast, automated ad generator aimed at e-commerce sellers. Judged on that, it has genuine speed. The problems for Australians are about money, billing transparency and trust — not raw output.
Who it is for
Picture a Gold Coast dropshipper running a Shopify store on Meta ads. They want ten ad variations by tonight, do not have a designer, and do not care which avatar reads the script. They want to test creatives fast and cheap.
That is the Zeely buyer. Solo e-commerce sellers, dropshippers and small performance marketers who live inside Facebook and Instagram ads (Source 1). The vendor pitches batch creation and A/B variants as the core draw (Source 1).
It is not built for considered brand video, for dubbing existing footage, or for any business that needs a clean AUD invoice and a support line in its own timezone. If your output has to look bespoke, this is the wrong door.
What it does well
Speed is the genuine selling point. Zeely converts a product link into video and static ad drafts in minutes rather than hours (Source 1). For high-volume ad testing, that throughput has real value — you can put more variants in front of an audience faster.
The avatars are serviceable. Zeely offers a library of customisable AI avatars and "talking reels" that read a generated script (Source 1). The vendor's own count is 30-plus avatars; that is its figure, not something I verified avatar by avatar (Source 1). For UGC-style ads, the quality clears the bar.
Static ads come from a template system. You get drag-and-drop templates and batch generation of multiple variations for A/B testing (Source 1). For a seller who needs ten near-identical creatives with different hooks, this is faster than a manual design tool.
It writes the copy too. Zeely generates ad copy using standard direct-response frameworks such as AIDA and Problem-Agitate-Solution (Source 1). The output is generic, but it is a starting draft, and it saves a blank-page moment.
Direct Meta launch is built in. You can push campaigns straight to Facebook and Instagram from inside the app, with reporting on metrics like cost-per-click (Sources 1, 2). For the target user, that one-stop loop is the appeal.
Where it falls short
Web pricing is USD-only, billed by a US company. Every web price is in US dollars (Sources 2, 3, 4). There is no AUD billing on the website, no AUD invoice, and no GST handling for Australian buyers — the in-app purchases are the exception, priced in Australian dollars with GST included by Apple (see below). (Corrected 21 Sep 2026.) You will likely pay a foreign-transaction fee and must account for GST yourself.
A service fee rides on your ad spend. On top of the subscription, Zeely charges up to 12% of your Meta ad budget as a service fee (Sources 2, 3). A "Booster" add-on at US$39.95/year drops that to 6% (Source 3). That fee is on money you are already paying Meta — it is easy to miss when you tally the true cost.
The billing model is aggressive. Zeely leads with cheap paid "trials" — US$19.95 for two weeks, for example — that convert into full-price subscriptions of up to US$79.95 a month unless you cancel in time (Source 3). This is a known friction point, and the structure rewards inattention. Read the renewal terms before you enter a card.
App Store prices do not match website prices, and the gap runs both ways. The website quotes US$29.95 to US$79.95 a month (≈A$42–A$112). The Australian App Store listing prices in Australian dollars with GST included: 1 Year Plan A$299.99, 3-Month Plan A$199.99, 1-Week Plan A$29.99, a Plus tier and a 3D Trial each at A$29.99, and credit packs at A$7.99 (2,500 credits), A$14.99 (100), A$29.99 (20,000) and A$59.99 (500) (Sources 3, 5; read 21 September 2026). The annual plan works out about A$22.70 a month ex-GST — far cheaper than the website. The weekly plan at the same A$29.99 works out about A$1,560 a year, five times the annual. And A$7.99 for 2,500 credits against A$59.99 for 500 is not a ladder anyone can read. The price you pay depends on where you sign up and which row you tap. That inconsistency is a fairness problem on its own. (Expanded 21 Sep 2026 — this paragraph previously gave only the A$299.99 figure.)
Data governance is thin and offshore. The privacy policy is governed by Delaware law and names US sub-processors such as OpenAI and Stripe; it specifies no data-storage location and makes no GDPR or Australian-privacy commitment (Source 4). There is no Australian data residency, and no published ISO 27001 or SOC 2 attestation on Zeely's own pages as at the review date.
No lipsync or dubbing in the way the category implies. If you arrived expecting a tool that re-voices your own footage into other languages with matched lip movement, Zeely is not that (Source 1). Its avatars read generated scripts; it does not dub video you bring.
Pricing for Australians
Zeely uses fixed monthly tiers on the web, plus low-cost paid trials that roll into them. All figures are in US dollars (Sources 2, 3).
I have converted at USD ≈ 1.40 AUD — The AI Directory's standard basis on the review date. I have not added GST to the figures below, because Zeely does not itemise Australian GST; if GST applies to your purchase it would be added on top, so treat these as GST-exclusive estimates and confirm on your invoice.
| Plan | USD price/mo | ~AUD/mo (est., ex-GST) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | US$29.95 | ~A$42 | 2,500 credits (Source 2) |
| Plus | US$49.95 | ~A$70 | 5,000 credits (Source 2) |
| Growth | US$79.95 | ~A$112 | 10,000 credits; "most popular" (Source 2) |
| 2-week trial | US$19.95 once | ~A$28 | Full access, then converts (Source 3) |
| Booster add-on | US$39.95/yr | ~A$56/yr | Cuts ad-spend fee 12% → 6% (Source 3) |
| Meta service fee | 12% of ad spend | 12% of ad spend | 6% with Booster (Sources 2, 3) |
So a Growth-plan Australian spending A$2,000 a month on Meta ads pays roughly A$112 subscription plus A$240 in service fees on top of the ad budget itself — before GST and card fees. The headline subscription is not the real cost. The service fee on ad spend is where it adds up.
Verdict on value: the subscription looks cheap, but the 12% ad-spend fee, the USD billing and the trial-to-subscription mechanics make the true cost both higher and harder to predict than the sticker suggests. This is not a transparent price.
Australian fit
This is Zeely's weakest area, and the score reflects it.
- Currency: USD only on the web (Sources 2, 3). In-app: Australian dollars with GST included, on a ladder that does not match the website — 1 Year A$299.99, 3-Month A$199.99, 1-Week A$29.99 (Source 5). (Corrected 21 Sep 2026 — this line previously read "No AUD billing" with no qualification.)
- GST: Not itemised for Australian buyers on the web — you handle it (Sources 3, 4). On the in-app purchases Apple is merchant of record in Australia, so GST is in the price and the receipt is a tax invoice (Source 5).
- Data residency: No stated storage location; US-governed policy, US sub-processors. No Australian option (Source 4).
- Support: Delaware company; no stated Australian support hours, and no local timezone presence (Source 4).
- AU-aware output: None. Ad copy and avatars are geography-neutral, pitched at a global Shopify-dropshipper audience (Source 1).
Zeely is on the Australian App Store, so Australians can buy it in Australian dollars with GST included (Source 5) — and the annual in-app plan is much cheaper than the website, while the weekly one costs five times as much a year. But being purchasable is not being built for the market. No GST handling on the web, no local hours, no local storage, and a website price that does not even match the App Store price. (Corrected 21 Sep 2026 — this sentence previously read "No AUD, no GST", which its own pricing section contradicts.) That holds it firmly below the four-out-of-five mark on Australian Fit.
How it compares
If you want fast, throwaway ad variants for Meta and you live in the dropshipping world, Zeely competes with tools like AdCreative.ai and Creatify. Its one-link-to-campaign loop is genuinely quick.
If you want avatar video for considered brand content, look at HeyGen or Synthesia instead — both are more polished, more transparent on pricing, and stronger on data governance.
If you actually want dubbing or lipsync of your own footage, Zeely is the wrong tool entirely. See our Dubly.AI or Wavel AI reviews for that job.
For an Australian business that needs clean AUD billing, GST handling and a trustworthy renewal experience, Zeely earns a place only on a fast-and-cheap shortlist — with the billing watched closely.
Scoring
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Value for Money | 2/5 | Cheap-looking subscription, but a 12% ad-spend fee, USD billing and trial-to-subscription mechanics make the true cost high and unpredictable. |
| Ease of Use | 3/5 | Link-to-ad is fast and the interface is approachable. But the billing flow is confusing and the renewal terms are easy to miss. |
| Feature Depth | 3/5 | Copy, static ads, avatars, batch variants and direct Meta launch. Broad for ad creation — but shallow per tool, and no real dubbing or lipsync. |
| Australian Fit | 2/5 | USD-only web pricing, no GST handling, no data residency, no AU support hours, and App Store prices that differ from the website. |
| Reliability & Support | 2/5 | Delaware shell company, thin privacy policy, no published ISO/SOC, no AU hours, and a billing reputation that demands caution. |
| Total | 12/25 | ★★★ Good |
Australian Fit gate: Zeely scores 2/5 on Australian Fit, below the 4/5 threshold. It is therefore not eligible for five stars or a category Top Pick, regardless of raw total. At 12/25 the four-star cap is not binding here, but the rule is noted for the record. See our Methodology page.
The verdict
Zeely AI does one thing quickly: it turns a product link into avatar-led video ads, static creatives and copy, then fires them at Meta. For a high-volume e-commerce seller who needs creative variants tonight, that speed has a place.
But this is a US app built for global dropshippers, and Australians feel it. On the web you pay in US dollars and handle your own GST (the App Store bills AUD with GST included, on a ladder that does not match the site), your data sits offshore under a thin Delaware-governed policy, and a 12% fee rides on the ad budget you are already paying Meta. The trial-to-subscription billing is aggressive, and the website price does not even match the App Store price.
Buy it if you run high-volume Meta ad tests, want cheap creative drafts fast, and will watch the renewal and the ad-spend fee like a hawk.
Skip it if you need AUD billing, GST handling, Australian data residency, polished brand video, or genuine dubbing and lipsync. For those jobs, Zeely is not the tool — and the billing model alone is reason enough for many Australian businesses to look elsewhere.
Last reviewed 30 June 2026 by Adam. Pricing and features verified against Zeely's own pages on the review date; USD-to-AUD conversions are GST-exclusive estimates at ~1.40. App Store prices differ from website prices — confirm current pricing where you sign up before you buy.
Update history
- 21 Sep 2026 — The review's own prose argued with itself about AUD, and the App Store ladder is now set out in full. No score moves. This review already knew Zeely's App Store prices differ from its website — it says so and names A$299.99 — and then told readers "No AUD, no GST" in the Australian fit section and "Currency: USD only on the web. No AUD billing" in its summary list. Both were wrong as written. The Australian App Store listing declares
"priceCurrency":"AUD"with Zeely, Inc. as seller and carries a complete AUD ladder, GST included: 1-Week Plan A$29.99, 3-Month Plan A$199.99, 1 Year Plan A$299.99, a Plus (Advanced AI Features) and 3D Trial Plan each at A$29.99, and credit packs at A$7.99 (2,500), A$14.99 (100), A$29.99 (20,000) and A$59.99 (500). Read the terms against each other before the headline. A$299.99 a year is about A$272.70 ex-GST, roughly A$22.70 a month against the US$29.95–US$79.95 (≈A$42–A$112) the website quotes — much cheaper. The A$29.99 weekly plan is the trap: the same money every week is about A$1,560 a year, five times the annual plan, and this review already flags Zeely's trial-to-subscription billing as aggressive. The credit packs are incoherent on their face — A$7.99 buys 2,500 credits and A$59.99 buys 500. Australian Fit holds at 2/5. The row already counted the App Store, and correctly counted the website/store mismatch against the tool. Nothing here changes that: no GST handling on the web, no data residency, no AU support hours, and a price that depends on which door you walk through. Value for Money holds at 2/5.
