Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).

Verdict (TL;DR): Relume is the rare AI tool with a genuine Australian story — founded and headquartered in Sydney — and it does one job very well: it turns a short brief into a full sitemap, wireframes and starter copy you then finish in Webflow, Figma or React. It is a designer's accelerator, not a website-in-a-box. If you (or your web person) already work in Webflow, it will save real hours. If you want a finished site without touching a design tool, look elsewhere.

What Relume is

Relume is an AI site builder for people who design and build marketing websites. You type in a few sentences about a business, and it generates three things: an AI sitemap (the page structure), wireframes (the page layouts, filled with placeholder copy), and a style guide you can apply across the site.

The catch — and it's the whole point — is what happens next. Relume does not host your website. It exports the structure into Webflow, Figma, React or HTML, where you finish the real build. Think of it as the rough framing of a house, not the finished home. It is built on a library of over 1,000 reusable components, all designed to drop cleanly into those tools.

Relume started in 2020 as a Webflow and Figma component library, then added the AI builder later. The company is bootstrapped — no outside investment — and runs remote-first out of Sydney. For a publication that exists because most AI tools treat Australia as an afterthought, that origin matters, and we'll come back to it.

What it costs in Australia

Relume bills per user. Pricing below is drawn from Relume's published plans and cross-checked against independent pricing trackers. The official pricing page renders its dollar figures as on-page graphics, so the exact numbers here are sourced secondarily and should be treated as a guide, not gospel.

Plan Price (monthly) Price (billed annually) Who it's for
Free US$0 US$0 Trying it out — 1 project, 30 Webflow components, limited AI
Starter US$26/mo (~A$36 conversion; GST unconfirmed) US$18/mo (~A$25 conversion; GST unconfirmed) Solo designers doing real work
Pro US$58/mo (~A$81 conversion; GST unconfirmed) US$40/mo (~A$56 conversion; GST unconfirmed) Pros wanting React/HTML export + extras
Team US$52/user/mo (~A$73 conversion; GST unconfirmed) US$36/user/mo (~A$50 conversion; GST unconfirmed) 3+ users, shared workspace

AUD figures are our conversions at ~1.40 USD, shown ex-GST. Billing is reported as USD by third-party trackers, and Relume's own pricing page does not state whether Australian customers are billed in AUD or whether GST is itemised on the invoice. Treat the local cost as an estimate and confirm currency and GST treatment with Relume before you subscribe. Annual billing saves roughly 30% over monthly.

The free plan is genuinely useful for kicking the tyres: one project, AI-generated sitemap and copy, 30 Webflow components and Figma export. It is not enough for paid client work — you'll hit the project and page limits fast — but it's an honest trial, not a teaser.

How it works in practice

You start with a prompt — a sentence or two about the business and its pages. Within a minute or two, Relume returns a sitemap you can edit. Approve it, and it builds out wireframes for each page, dropping in real layout components and AI-written placeholder copy rather than lorem ipsum.

From there you swap components, rewrite the copy, apply a style guide, then export. In Webflow, the workflow is a copy-paste of components straight onto the canvas via the Chrome extension (Pro and Team plans). In Figma, it's a full design-system export. The newer Claude Design integration adds another export path.

The honest summary: a competent Webflow user can go from blank page to a styled, structured draft site in an afternoon instead of a couple of days. A non-technical business owner, on the other hand, will get a sitemap and wireframes and then realise they still need someone who knows Webflow or Figma to finish the job.

What it does well

  • Removes the blank-page problem. A full sitemap, wireframes and starter copy from one short brief is a real time-saver — easily a few hours on a standard marketing site.
  • The component library is the moat. 1,000+ professionally built, Client-First-structured components mean the output looks like a designer made it, not a template generator.
  • Clean handoff to the tools designers already use. Webflow, Figma, React and HTML export all work, so Relume slots into an existing workflow instead of demanding you adopt a new platform.
  • A useful, non-cynical free tier. You can actually evaluate the AI builder before paying.
  • It's Australian-built. Sydney-founded, Sydney-headquartered — rare in this category, and it shows in the support and community responsiveness.

What it doesn't do well

  • It does not produce a finished, live website. This is the single biggest misunderstanding. Relume hands you a structure; you still need Webflow, Figma or a developer to ship. For a busy owner who wanted "type a prompt, get a website," that's a dealbreaker.
  • You really need to know Webflow (or Figma). Without that, the export lands in a tool you can't drive. The learning curve is on the destination platform, not Relume itself.
  • Per-user, USD-denominated pricing adds up. A small studio on Pro is looking at roughly A$81/mo per seat at our converted estimate — on top of a Webflow subscription.
  • No stated AUD billing or GST line. Relume's pricing page doesn't say whether local customers are billed in AUD or shown GST — an odd gap for a Sydney company, and worth clarifying before you subscribe.
  • Data residency is unstated. Relume's site does not publish where customer project data is hosted. For most marketing-site work that's low-stakes, but it's a missing detail.

Australian fit

Here's where Relume breaks the usual pattern. Nearly every tool we review in this category is a US or European product that treats Australia as a billing afterthought. Relume was founded in Sydney in 2020 and is still headquartered there, bootstrapped and remote-first. Support hours and community responsiveness line up with Australian time zones in a way most rivals can't match.

Two caveats keep this from a perfect score. First, Relume's pricing page doesn't state that Australian customers are billed in AUD or that GST appears on invoices — surprising for a local company. Second, Relume does not publish its data-hosting location. Neither is a serious problem for typical marketing-website work, but both are the kind of detail an Australian buyer deserves stated plainly.

On balance, this is one of the strongest Australian-fit stories in the category — the local origin is real and earns the rating — held back only by two unpublished facts.

Alternatives

  • Framer — if you want the AI to take you all the way to a published, hosted site without a separate build tool, Framer is the closer fit. Relume hands off; Framer ships.
  • Webflow — Relume's primary export target. Many users run both: Relume to draft, Webflow to build and host. If you only want one tool and you're technical, Webflow alone may do.
  • Wix — for a non-technical owner who genuinely wants prompt-to-live-website with no design tool in the middle, Wix's AI builder is the more honest match for that expectation.

Bottom line

Relume is very good at exactly one thing: getting a designer or developer from nothing to a structured, styled, copy-filled draft in a fraction of the usual time. The component library is excellent, the export paths are clean, and the Sydney origin gives it an Australian-fit edge nothing else in the category has.

Buy it if you — or whoever builds your site — already live in Webflow or Figma. Skip it if you wanted to type a prompt and get a finished website, because that's a job Relume deliberately doesn't do. Start on the free plan; you'll know within an hour whether it fits your workflow.

Score

Criterion Score Note

Feature Depth 4/5 Sitemaps, wireframes, style guides, 1,000+ components, four export paths
Australian Fit 4/5 Sydney-founded and HQ'd — best-in-category origin — but no confirmed AUD billing or data-residency statement
Reliability & Support 3/5 Mature product, strong docs and community; small bootstrapped team, no published SLA
Total 18/25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good

  • 24 Sep 2026 — The AUD column was never grossed up for GST, and every word around it said it was. The header read “gross-up; GST unconfirmed” and the note beneath described a 10% uplift — while the figures themselves are plain conversions at 1.4045. Checked before changing a word: across the 63 files carrying this wording, 141 rows convert at 1.4045 and none at 1.4045 × 1.10. No figure changed here; only the description of them did. Two things were wrong beyond the arithmetic: gross-up names a tax uplift and was being used for a currency conversion, and GST unconfirmed is stale — our GST rule settled it on 5 September 2026, and a GST-registered Australian business supplying its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. No USD price moved and no score changed. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.
