Verdict (TL;DR): intelliHR is the deepest people analytics platform founded in Australia. It was built by HR consultants, not engineers, and it shows — the engagement surveys, performance workflows, OKR tracking, and sentiment analytics are genuinely sophisticated. The AI features are real: machine learning algorithms are baked into the analytics, and the top-tier "Intelligent HR" plan adds AI-driven insights across business performance, talent planning, and employee wellness. The limitation to be honest about: intelliHR is not a payroll system and never has been. It is a people platform that needs to sit alongside a payroll or workforce management system. Acquired by Humanforce in 2023, and now sold under the Humanforce name — the intelliHR brand itself has been retired. The analytics keep the depth they always had, now inside a bigger suite. Best suited to Australian organisations of 100–2,000 employees that already have payroll sorted and want the best people analytics money can buy.

Score: 18/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good

Last reviewed: 26 June 2026 by Adam.

⚠️ CORRECTION — 5 September 2026. The intelliHR brand no longer exists, and this review originally said it did. The software is real and still sold: it is now Humanforce HR (with people analytics in Humanforce's Analytics module). But the standalone brand has been retired, and intellihr.com no longer serves a page — the domain still resolves in DNS but returns nothing over HTTP or HTTPS (checked 5 September 2026). Humanforce's own product list names Workforce Management, HR, Learning, Talent, Payroll, Benefits, AI and Analytics — no intelliHR (humanforce.com — Wayback 3 August 2026). The assessment of the software below stands and the score is unchanged at 18/25, but read it as a review of what is now Humanforce HR. For the rostering and award-compliance side of the same vendor, see our Humanforce review.

What intelliHR is

intelliHR was founded in Brisbane, Queensland, by HR consultants who built the analytics IP before they wrote a line of production code. The platform's Global Human Capital Analytics Framework predates the product itself, which explains why the analytics are genuinely deep rather than the reporting afterthought common in competitors.

The company was previously ASX-listed (IHR) and was acquired by Humanforce, the broader Australian workforce management platform, in 2023 (Humanforce announcement — Wayback 15 May 2026). The intelliHR brand has since been retired: the product is sold as Humanforce HR, and the old intellihr.com site is no longer served. When this review first published on 26 June 2026 it said intelliHR "retains its own brand, product, and website" — that was wrong, and is corrected here.

intelliHR positions itself as "not an all-in-one, a configured-for-one." That is not modesty — it is strategy. Rather than trying to compete with ELMO or Employment Hero on full HR suites, intelliHR focuses on doing people analytics, performance management, and employee engagement better than anyone else.

As intelliHR, the platform sold in three tiers — Essential HR (everyday HR needs, basic analytics), Pro HR (engagement and performance tools, expanded analytics) and Intelligent HR (workforce planning, compensation planning, skills capture, AI sentiment analytics and intelligent insights), all quote-only. Those tier names belonged to the retired brand and are recorded here from the archived intelliHR site, intellihr.com/about (Wayback 3 September 2026); Humanforce now sells every product as Core or Pro instead (humanforce.com/pricing — Wayback 19 June 2026).

What it costs in Australia

There is no published price, and there is no longer an intelliHR price list to check. Humanforce sells the whole suite on a quote. Its pricing page offers every product — Workforce Management, HR, Talent, Payroll, Benefits and AI — in two tiers, Core ("streamlined deployment for growing teams") and Pro ("enterprise sophistication for complex operations"), with the deeper people-analytics reporting sitting in Analytics Pro. No per-employee, per-month figure is published for any tier, and no AUD amount is shown — the page carries an AU/NZ region selector but no localised pricing (humanforce.com/pricing — Wayback 19 June 2026, checked 5 September 2026).

So budget by asking. Get the quote in writing, confirm it is denominated in AUD, and confirm whether GST is shown separately on the invoice — Humanforce is an Australian company, so a local tax invoice with an ABN should be straightforward to obtain, but we have not verified the invoice format ourselves.

A correction on our earlier figure. The 26 June version of this review carried an estimate of "AUD $10–$20 per employee per month" attributed to "available market data". That figure had no primary source and we have withdrawn it. It should not have been published: our Verification Standard requires a vendor primary source for every price, and an aggregate of third-party guesses is not one. The Value for Money score below was already set at 3/5 on the quote-only basis, so removing the estimate does not change it.

How it works in practice

intelliHR centres on a customisable employee self-service dashboard that sits at the intersection of performance, engagement, and people data. Here is how the key modules work:

Performance management uses automated review cycles — you set the schedule, intelliHR triggers reviews, collects 360-degree feedback, tracks goals and OKRs, and generates performance reports. A recent customer testimonial (from McCullough Robertson, 350+ headcount, published on intellihr.com) noted that their end-to-end performance review process went from eight months and 49 clicks to just 6 clicks for staff.

Employee engagement runs pulse surveys, anonymous surveys, eNPS tracking, and wellness check-ins. Managers get a manager's log. Results feed directly into the analytics suite.

People analytics is where intelliHR genuinely distinguishes itself. The Essential tier gives workforce headcount, tenure, remuneration, starters and leavers data. Pro adds engagement, performance, attrition, eNPS, wellness, and form analytics. The Intelligent tier adds the AI layer: sentiment analytics, intelligent insights across business performance, skills analytics, training spend, and talent planning.

Workflow automation ranges from 3 standard workflows on Essential (onboarding, offboarding, role change) to unlimited custom workflows on Intelligent.

The AI sits in the Intelligent tier. The "intelligent insights" are machine learning-driven — they surface anomalies, trends, and predictions across the people data rather than requiring HR teams to know what questions to ask. This is a meaningful capability, not a feature-level checkbox.

Multi-language support includes Australian English natively. The platform supports REST Public API access across all tiers.

What it does well

The deepest people analytics of any Australian-founded HR platform. Most HR suites offer reports. intelliHR offers genuine analytics — attrition modelling, engagement trend detection, eNPS tracking, and (on the top tier) ML-driven intelligent insights. A customer (Sheldon Interiors, HR Manager Belinda Maybury, published on intellihr.com) reported saving 60% of HR team time previously spent on manual analysis.

Performance management workflows that actually close. The automated review cycle, 360-degree feedback, and goal tracking are operationally mature. The statistics cited by customers (process reduced from eight months to weeks) are credible outcomes for organisations that implement this properly.

Genuine Australian origin. Founded in Brisbane, HQ in Fortitude Valley. The analytics framework was built with Australian organisations in mind from the start, not retrofitted for the local market.

Highly configurable. intelliHR's self-description as "configured-for-one" is accurate — the platform allows significant customisation of dashboards, forms, workflows, and survey templates. That configurability is a strength for HR teams that know what they want.

Integration-first philosophy. Because intelliHR does not try to own payroll, it integrates with the systems that do. This gives organisations flexibility to pair it with their existing payroll platform.

What it doesn't do well

No payroll. This is the most important limitation. intelliHR does not process payroll, calculate Modern Award rates, or handle STP. If you need an all-in-one people + payroll system, look at ELMO, Employment Hero, or foundU. intelliHR requires a separate payroll system.

No recruitment ATS (Applicant Tracking System). Hiring is not in the product. You bring candidates in from elsewhere.

The AI features are on the most expensive tier. The ML-driven intelligent insights, sentiment analytics, and talent planning tools are Intelligent HR only. Essential and Pro get useful analytics, but the AI differentiator requires the top plan.

Quote-only pricing without a self-serve trial. Prospective buyers cannot test the platform before engaging a sales team. Given the configurability of the product, a free trial period would dramatically reduce buyer friction.

The ownership transition has now completed, and the brand did not survive it. When this review was written we flagged integration as a risk to watch. It has since resolved in the plainest way: intelliHR is sold as Humanforce HR, and intellihr.com no longer serves a page (checked 5 September 2026). The software and the Brisbane team continue inside Humanforce; the separate identity does not. If you bought on the strength of intelliHR as an independent product, that is no longer what you are buying.

Not a standalone HR system for compliance management. If your primary need is managing Fair Work obligations, Modern Award interpretation, or STP filing, intelliHR is not the right tool. It assumes compliance is handled elsewhere.

This software does not replace qualified HR or legal advice. Performance decisions, redundancies, and employment disputes require qualified HR professionals and legal counsel.

Australian fit

Factor Detail
AUD billing Not published. Humanforce is quote-only and shows no AUD figure; confirm on your quote
Data residency Not published by the vendor — unverified. Ask before signing if it matters to you
Fair Work compliance Not applicable — intelliHR does not process payroll
AU-founded Yes — Brisbane QLD, founded by AU HR consultants
AU language support Australian English native (listed first in supported languages)
GST Not published. Humanforce is an Australian company, so expect a local tax invoice with an ABN — we have not verified the invoice format
AU support Yes — Brisbane-based, now within Humanforce's Australian operation

intelliHR's Australian origin is genuine and shapes the product. The analytics framework was built for Australian workplace realities. The key gap is data residency — this review could not confirm from public sources where data is hosted. Buyers should ask intelliHR directly and confirm in writing before signing up.

Alternatives

ELMO Software — the direct competitor for organisations wanting an all-in-one suite with AI analytics plus payroll. ELMO's Insights module uses NLP analytics that overlaps with intelliHR's core capability. Reviewed: [review-elmo-australia-2026-06-26.md].

Culture Amp — another Melbourne-born platform focused on engagement and performance. Similar philosophy (people analytics over payroll), strong engagement survey depth. Reviewed: [review-culture-amp-australia-2026-06-07.md].

Employment Hero — all-in-one Australian HR + payroll + hiring platform. Less analytics depth than intelliHR but more complete if payroll is needed. Reviewed: [review-employment-hero-australia-2026-06-03.md].

Humanforce — intelliHR's parent company. Covers workforce management, scheduling, and payroll for deskless workers. Reviewed: [review-humanforce-australia-2026-06-26.md].

Bottom line

intelliHR's analytics and performance management capabilities are the best of any Australian-founded HR platform. The ML-driven insights on the top tier are a genuine differentiator, not a checkbox. The product is built for HR professionals who care about people data, not for business owners who need payroll.

Buy intelliHR if: you already have payroll covered, your organisation is between roughly 100 and 2,000 people, and you want sophisticated people analytics, engagement tracking, and automated performance reviews.

Do not buy intelliHR if: you need payroll, a recruitment ATS, or an all-in-one system. Confirm data residency before signing.

Update history
  • 9 Oct 2026 — Re-checked for the AUD-claim queue (#409), humanforce.com/pricing read on an Australian connection: still quote-only — Core and Pro tiers, "Contact Sales" with an Australian 1300 number, and no dollar figure, per-employee rate or trial in any currency. Nothing in the 5 September correction changes; aud_native: false stands until a quote shows otherwise. Capture: Dossiers/captures/intellihr-pricing-2026-10-09.txt.
  • 5 Sep 2026 — Correction and freshness pass. The intelliHR brand has been retired: the product is sold as Humanforce HR, and intellihr.com no longer serves a page. This review had said intelliHR "retains its own brand, product, and website" — wrong, and corrected. Withdrew an unsourced price estimate ("AUD $10–$20 per employee per month… based on available market data"), which breached the Verification Standard's primary-source rule; the pricing section now states Humanforce's actual quote-only Core/Pro structure, cited and snapshotted. Cleared seven leaked author instructions that had shipped in the body — "(confirm with intelliHR)", "(confirm data hosting location…)", "(independently — check G2 directly)" and others, two of them sitting in the Australian-fit table as if they were values. Citations repointed from the dead domain to Humanforce primaries, with the 2023 intellihr.com snapshots kept and relabelled as an archival record. Score held at 18/25 — Value for Money was already 3/5 on a quote-only basis, so withdrawing the estimate does not move it.
