The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.

Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).

✅ Pricing vendor-verified — 9 October 2026. The bot wall that blocked our September read has gone; the figures below were read from hypefury.com/features-pricing in a browser on an Australian connection, and they replace the June ladder entirely (see Update history).

Verdict (TL;DR): Hypefury is a well-designed tool for X/Twitter creators who want to grow their audience through consistent scheduling, thread automation, and engagement features. The platform is genuinely good at what it does. However, its auto-DM features create real Spam Act compliance questions for Australian users, the tool is overwhelmingly X-focused (other platforms are secondary), and there's no AUD pricing or Australian data residency. Best suited for Australian creators who are building a personal brand on X and understand what they're automating.

What Hypefury is

Hypefury is a social media scheduling and growth automation tool founded in 2019 by Yannick Veys and Samy Dindane. It is incorporated in the United States (Hypefury Inc.) with a distributed team. The platform was built with one primary goal: help creators grow on X/Twitter through consistent, automated posting and strategic engagement.

The tool's core features are X-native: schedule tweets and threads, auto-retweet your best content, auto-plug (add a first comment linking to your product or newsletter after a tweet goes viral), cross-post to LinkedIn and Instagram, generate post inspiration from a library of viral tweet templates, and send automated DMs. Secondary support extends to Facebook, Threads, and TikTok.

Hypefury is not a general social media management platform. If you need to manage Facebook pages, run Instagram campaigns, or handle review responses, look elsewhere. It's a focused X growth tool that also lets you cross-post.

What it costs in Australia

Hypefury bills in USD only. There is no AUD pricing. Since 2026 it sells "a single, simple plan" in two shapes rather than the four tiers the June edition of this review scored. All figures below are converted at US$1 ≈ A$1.44 (ECB reference rate via Frankfurter, 8 October 2026) and shown ex-GST: a GST-registered business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers add about 10%.

Plan (as at 9 Oct 2026) USD/month (monthly) USD, yearly billing AUD approx/month (ex-GST, 1.44)
Flexible — 1 channel $6 $5/month ~A$9 (~A$7 yearly)
Flexible — each additional channel +$6 +$6 ~A$9 each
Full — all channels $19 $199/year (~$16.60/month) ~A$27 (~A$24 yearly)
June 2026 edition, for the record Starter $29 / Creator $65 / Business $97 / Agency $199 $250 / $590 / $890 / $1,800 ~A$41 / 91 / 136 / 279

Yearly billing takes Flexible to US$5 a month and Full to US$199 a year (about 13% off). A 7-day free trial with no credit card is available on both plans. There is still no free plan.

Flexible is priced per connected channel — one social platform for US$6 a month, US$6 for each additional platform — with unlimited scheduling, 2 Tweetshots a day, Autoplugs, Instagram AutoDMs and email and chat support. Full connects every channel for a flat US$19 a month and lifts Tweetshots to 5 a day. For an agency managing several client profiles, Full is the obvious choice; the per-channel plan suits a solo creator on one or two platforms.

How it works in practice

Hypefury's interface is built around a minimalist writing editor. You open it, write a tweet or thread, pick a time (or use the queue), and the platform handles the rest. The friction is deliberately low — the product is designed so you can queue a week's worth of content in under an hour.

Viral inspiration panel shows you high-performing tweets from 15+ content niches — business, finance, marketing, productivity, tech, and others. You pick a format you like, rewrite it in your own voice, and schedule it. This is the tool's most cited feature in user reviews and it does work as described.

Thread booster automatically retweets the first tweet of your thread when the last one goes out, improving thread visibility on the X algorithm. A simple feature, but genuinely useful.

Auto-plug adds a pre-set first comment to tweets that reach a threshold engagement (configurable). Creators use this to drive newsletter signups or product sales from viral tweets. Autoplugs are listed on both current plans.

Cross-posting to LinkedIn and Instagram works but is clearly secondary. LinkedIn posts go out as text; Twitter screenshots get posted to Instagram. For native-quality Instagram content, you'd use a separate tool.

Engagement builder lets you build a list of accounts to engage with daily. You get a queue of their recent tweets with a text box to reply. The idea is to build community without doomscrolling. It works as advertised.

Tweet-to-Reels automation (a paid feature; the current two-plan page does not say whether Flexible includes it) converts tweets into short-form video posts for Instagram Reels or TikTok. This is a useful automation if you're running a multi-platform strategy from an X-first approach.

What it does well

X scheduling is excellent. The queue system, thread preview, delayed thread posting, and scheduling UX are all above average. If your primary goal is consistent X publishing, Hypefury makes it easy.

Viral content inspiration. The curated library of high-performing tweets by niche is a genuine shortcut for creators who struggle with what to write. It doesn't write for you — it shows you what works, which is more useful.

Auto-plug and thread booster are clever. These are small features that deliver outsized results for creators monetising through newsletters or digital products.

Affordable entry point. At about A$9 a month ex-GST for one channel on Flexible — or A$27 for every channel on Full — Hypefury is now far cheaper to start with than the A$41 Starter plan the June edition scored, and accessible for individual creators who want to get serious about X growth.

7-day free trial with no credit card required on the initial signup page (confirm at checkout; terms may vary).

What it doesn't do well

It's overwhelmingly X-centric. Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Threads are present but feel like afterthoughts. If you need to manage these networks with the same seriousness as X, Hypefury is the wrong primary tool.

No AI writing assistant. Hypefury shows you viral tweets as inspiration, but it does not generate copy for you. There's no GPT-powered caption writer, no "write me 5 tweet variations" feature. This is a deliberate design choice — and a genuine gap compared to Tweet Hunter and Publer.

Auto-DMs have compliance implications (see Australian Fit below). The feature is built around commercial automation — sending DMs to users who engage with specific tweets. In Australia, this triggers Spam Act scrutiny.

No analytics depth. The analytics tab shows likes, retweets, and impressions, with basic charts. It is not a replacement for native X analytics for serious data analysis.

No content approval workflows. There's no way to set up a review queue where a client or manager approves posts before they go live. Agencies managing client accounts need to build this process manually.

Australian fit

Timezone support: Hypefury supports scheduling in any timezone including AEST and AEDT. You configure this in account settings. No Australian-default exists, but it works correctly once set.

Auto-DMs and the Spam Act 2003: This is the most significant compliance consideration for Australian Hypefury users. Hypefury's auto-DM feature sends direct messages to X users who engage with specific tweets (e.g., all users who like a particular post). Under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), commercial electronic messages — including direct messages on social media platforms in commercial contexts — must not be sent unless the recipient has consented, the sender is identified, and an unsubscribe mechanism is provided.

Sending automated commercial DMs to Twitter/X users who liked a tweet does not constitute consent under the Spam Act. If your auto-DM contains a commercial offer, a newsletter signup, or a product promotion, you are at real risk of contravening the Act. The ACMA enforces the Spam Act and can issue infringement notices with fines up to $275,000 per day for serious or repeated breaches.

Practical guidance: Use Hypefury's auto-DM feature only for non-commercial messages (e.g., thanking a user for a retweet) or where you have clear prior consent. Consult your own legal adviser before using it for commercial promotion.

AI-generated content and the ACL: Hypefury does not generate AI content itself — it shows you inspiration from human-written viral tweets. The ACL risk is lower here than with AI caption generators, but any content you publish that makes product claims must still comply with Australian Consumer Law.

Data residency: Hypefury is a US-incorporated company. User data — including your X account credentials and content — is processed and stored on US infrastructure (specific server location not disclosed in Hypefury's privacy policy; policy states data may be processed in the US). There is no Australian data residency option.

Support: Email and chat support only. No phone support. No AU business hours.

Alternatives

Bottom line

Hypefury is a genuinely capable tool for Australian creators who have decided that X/Twitter is their primary distribution channel. The scheduling, thread automation, and engagement builder work well. The viral inspiration panel is the feature that most users cite as the reason they subscribe.

The caveats matter, though. The auto-DM feature is legally treacherous under Australian law unless used carefully. The platform's X-first philosophy means anything else you manage gets second-class treatment. And AUD pricing doesn't exist, so you're paying USD exchange-rate risk every month.

Recommended for: Australian creators, coaches, consultants, and founders building a personal brand on X who want to post consistently without spending two hours a day at the keyboard. Not recommended for: businesses that need full social media management across multiple platforms, or anyone who wants to use automated DMs for commercial promotion without legal advice.

Update history
  • 9 Oct 2026 — New edition: Hypefury replaced its four tiers with two plans, and the prices are now vendor-verified. Value for Money 3 → 4, total 14 → 15/25. Was: Starter US$29, Creator US$65, Business US$97, Agency US$199 a month (US$250–1,800 a year), flagged "not vendor-verified" since 6 September because a bot wall blocked the read. Now, from hypefury.com/features-pricing read in a browser on an Australian connection: Flexible US$6 a month per channel (US$5 yearly; US$6 per additional channel) and Full US$19 a month or US$199 a year for all channels; 7-day trial; no free plan. USD only; aud_native: false stands; the warning banner is retired. Conversions at US$1 = A$1.44 (ECB, 8 Oct 2026). Source: AUD queue #486; capture Dossiers/captures/hypefury-pricing-2026-10-09.txt. The June edition is kept unchanged and linked above.
  • 24 Sep 2026 — The grossed-up AUD column removed from the pricing table. The table carried a second Australian column adding 10% GST to every converted figure, so each plan had two Australian prices and the higher one asserted a tax most of our readers do not pay: a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. The ex-GST column is unchanged and is the price. Removed, and kept visible here per our price-history rule — the column headed “AUD approx/month (if GST charged, +10%)”: Starter ~$45; Creator ~$100; Business ~$150; Agency ~$307. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.
  • 24 Sep 2026 — 1 Australian figure in the prose corrected to agree with this review's own pricing table. The table was verified cell by cell earlier today; it still quoted the retired 1.55 basis, in 1 place — verdict lines, score rationales, the excerpt and the JSON-LD are where a reader actually meets a price, and a pairing check cannot see them because they name no USD figure alongside. Kept visible per our price-history rule: AUD $49 → AUD $41. The replacement values are taken from the table, not recomputed, so the two now agree exactly. No USD price moved and no score changed. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.

Frequently asked questions

Using Hypefury's auto-DM feature to send commercial messages to X users who engage with your posts may breach the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) unless recipients have expressly consented, you identify yourself clearly, and you provide an opt-out. Seek legal advice before using it for promotional purposes.

Does Hypefury work for platforms other than X (Twitter)?

Hypefury supports LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and TikTok, but these are secondary to its X functionality. Cross-posting from X to other platforms works, but Hypefury is not a full social media management tool for these networks.

What is Hypefury's pricing in AUD?

Hypefury does not offer AUD pricing. As at October 2026 the Flexible plan is US$6 a month for one channel (about A$9 ex-GST) plus US$6 for each additional channel, and the Full plan is US$19 a month (about A$27) or US$199 a year for all channels. Both carry a 7-day free trial.
