Tweet Hunter Review: The Best AI Ghostwriter for X — With an Australian Caveat
- From
- A$41/mo · ex-GST · billed in USD ($29)
The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.
Skip to the verdictPricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).
Verdict (TL;DR): Tweet Hunter is the most fully-featured AI writing and growth tool for X/Twitter in the market. The AI ghostwriting, 12-million-tweet viral library, and built-in CRM are the best in class for X-focused creators. Australian creators who take X seriously will find it worth paying for. The auto-DM automation is powerful — and legally treacherous under the Spam Act 2003 unless used carefully. Data is processed in the US; no AUD billing exists.

What Tweet Hunter is
Tweet Hunter was founded in 2021 by Tibo Louis-Lucas and Tom Jacquesson, bootstrapped to AUD $1.8M+ in ARR, then acquired by Lempire (the parent company of Lemlist) for an eight-figure sum in 2022. Lempire, led by Guillaume Moubeche, is a French software company focused on sales and outreach tools. Tweet Hunter continues to operate as a distinct product.
The platform is purpose-built for X/Twitter growth. It combines three things that competing tools rarely do equally well: a massive viral content library for inspiration, an AI writing assistant that generates daily personalised tweets, and automation (scheduling, auto-DMs, auto-retweet, auto-plug). There is also a built-in CRM for tracking relationships on X.
Tweet Hunter does not pretend to be a general social media tool. It is X first, X always.
What it costs in Australia
Tweet Hunter bills in USD only. No AUD pricing. All conversions at approximately USD 1 = AUD 1.40 (September 2026). Australian GST of 10% is additional as an offshore digital service.
| Plan | USD/month (monthly) | AUD approx/month (ex-GST) | X accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discover | $29 | ~$41 | 1 |
| Grow | $49 | ~$69 | 5 |
| Enterprise | $200 | ~$280 | Unlimited |
Annual billing saves 30% (monthly pricing shown above is full monthly rate; yearly is available). A 7-day free trial is available on all plans.
The Discover plan includes the full viral library, scheduling, evergreen tweets, auto-DMs (3,000/month), auto-plug, auto-retweet, and analytics. The AI writing features — daily AI-generated tweets, AI rewriting, thread hooks, and AI reply generation — require the Grow plan and above.
The Enterprise plan adds ghostwriting mode (post on behalf of clients), a custom-trained AI (trained on your personal tweet history), smart AI reply generation, unlimited AI use, and priority support.
How it works in practice
Viral tweet library. The headline feature. Tweet Hunter has indexed over 12 million high-performing tweets across dozens of niches. You can filter by topic, engagement level, and content type. The library lets you find proven tweet formats and rewrite them in your own voice. This is not AI-generated copy — it's curated human-written content used as structural inspiration.
AI writer (Grow plan and above). Each day, Tweet Hunter generates a batch of personalised tweet ideas based on your profile, writing history, and selected topics. The AI can complete a tweet you've started, rewrite one you've written, suggest thread hooks, and generate entire threads. It is noticeably more Twitter-native in voice than generic GPT outputs — Lempire has clearly fine-tuned this for X.
Custom-trained AI (Enterprise). At the Enterprise tier, the AI trains on your own tweet history, learning your specific writing patterns and voice. This is the differentiating feature for X ghostwriters and creators with large followings who want AI that sounds like them.
Scheduling. Standard queue scheduling with an evergreen system that recycles your best past tweets. Works cleanly. No notable friction.
Auto-DMs. Sends automated direct messages to users who engage with your tweets (like, comment, retweet). Can be triggered by specific tweets or engagement types. This feature is central to the platform's monetisation use case — send a DM to everyone who likes your lead magnet tweet, for example.
X CRM. Build lists of accounts, track interactions, and manage relationship-building on X. Not as powerful as a full CRM, but useful for tracking warm leads.
Ghostwriting mode (Enterprise). Multiple clients can be managed from one account; posts go out under client profiles. Useful for X ghostwriting agencies.
What it does well
AI writing is the best in the X category. The AI-generated tweet suggestions are genuinely usable without extensive rewriting. The custom-trained AI at Enterprise level is a meaningful step up — it captures voice rather than just producing generic content.
Viral library is enormous and well-organised. 12 million indexed tweets with search and filter is more than any creator will need. Combined with the AI writer, it removes writer's block effectively.
7,500 auto-DMs/month on the Grow plan. The volume is generous for the price.
Analytics with public profile option. You can make your growth analytics public, useful for ghostwriters proving their track record.
Paid partnership label support. On the Grow plan, Tweet Hunter supports adding the paid partnership label required for commercial content disclosure on X.
What it doesn't do well
It is X-only. There is no LinkedIn scheduling, no Instagram, no Facebook. If you need to post anywhere else, you need another tool.
Auto-DMs create compliance exposure (see Australian Fit below). The platform does not include any compliance guardrails for Australian law.
The Discover plan is limited without AI. At $29/month, you get the library and scheduling but no AI writing. For an AI-forward tool, this means the compelling features are gated behind the $49 Grow plan.
Enterprise pricing is steep. At USD $200/month (~AUD $280 ex-GST), Enterprise is priced at agency rates. The custom AI training is valuable, but you're paying a significant jump from Grow.
No multi-platform analytics. Since it's X-only, you don't get a consolidated view across social channels.
US-centric AI voice defaults. The AI writer generates tweets that skew American in phrasing. Australian users will need to review outputs for localisation — "color" vs "colour", American idioms, US cultural references.
Australian fit
Timezone support: Tweet Hunter supports AEST and AEDT scheduling. You configure this in account settings. The platform doesn't default to Australian timezones, but once set, it works correctly.
Auto-DMs and the Spam Act 2003: Tweet Hunter's auto-DM feature is its most powerful commercial tool — and the most legally sensitive for Australian users. Sending automated DMs to users who engage with a tweet is a form of commercial electronic messaging. Under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), a commercial electronic message must: (1) be sent with the recipient's express or inferred consent; (2) clearly identify the sender; and (3) include a functional unsubscribe mechanism.
Sending a promotional DM to every user who liked your tweet does not constitute consent under Australian law. The ACMA has enforcement powers including civil penalties up to $275,000 per day for serious breaches. Tweet Hunter does not build any of these compliance requirements into the DM automation feature.
Practical guidance: Do not use the auto-DM feature for commercial messages (product offers, newsletter signups, service promotions) unless you have clear, prior express consent from the recipient. Non-commercial acknowledgment messages (e.g., thanking someone for a share) are lower risk but should still be reviewed with a legal adviser.
AI-generated content and the ACL: The AI writer generates content quickly. Any AI-generated tweets used to promote a product, service, or claim must still comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Misleading or deceptive AI-generated content — even if unintentional — can attract ACCC scrutiny. Review all AI outputs before publishing commercial content.
Data residency: Tweet Hunter is operated by Lempire, a French company. User data, including your X credentials and tweet history, is processed in the United States per the Tweet Hunter privacy policy. There is no Australian data residency option and no explicit mention of Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) compliance.
Support: Priority support at Enterprise; standard email on lower plans. No Australian support hours.
Alternatives
- Hypefury (reviewed at /review-hypefury-australia-2026) — similar X focus, no AI writer but better cross-posting, lower entry price.
- Taplio (reviewed at /review-taplio-australia-2026) — LinkedIn equivalent from the same Lempire group; strong AI for LinkedIn professionals.
- Buffer (reviewed at /review-buffer-australia-2026) — multi-platform tool without X-specific growth features; better if you need broad network coverage.
Bottom line
Tweet Hunter is the best AI-powered X growth tool we've reviewed. If you're an Australian creator, consultant, or founder who has decided that X is your primary channel, this is the tool. The AI writer saves meaningful time. The viral library removes writer's block. The CRM helps you build relationships systematically.
The caveats are real: data goes to the US, pricing is USD-only, and the auto-DM feature is a Spam Act risk unless used carefully. None of these should stop an informed user from subscribing — but they need to be known up front.
Recommended for: Australian X creators, coaches, consultants, personal brand builders, and X ghostwriters. The Grow plan at ~AUD $69/month including GST is the right entry point for most users. Not recommended for: businesses that need multi-platform social management, or anyone who wants to deploy auto-DMs commercially without legal review.

- 9 Oct 2026 — Re-checked for the AUD-claim queue (#492), tweethunter.io/pricing read in a browser on an Australian connection: Discover US$29, Grow US$49 and Enterprise US$200 a month stand (7-day trial on each; yearly billing saves up to 25%), with a bare
$and no AUD, so the table holds andaud_native: falsestands. Capture:Dossiers/captures/tweet-hunter-pricing-2026-10-09.txt. - 24 Sep 2026 — The grossed-up AUD column removed from the pricing table. The table carried a second Australian column adding 10% GST to every converted figure, so each plan had two Australian prices and the higher one asserted a tax most of our readers do not pay: a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. The ex-GST column is unchanged and is the price. Removed, and kept visible here per our price-history rule — the column headed “AUD approx/month (if GST charged, +10%)”: Discover ~$45; Grow ~$76; Enterprise ~$308.

The table was verified cell by cell earlier today; it still quoted the retired 1.55 basis, in 1 place — verdict lines, score rationales, the excerpt and the JSON-LD are where a reader actually meets a price, and a pairing check cannot see them because they name no USD figure alongside. Kept visible per our price-history rule: AUD $84 → AUD $69. The replacement values are taken from the table, not recomputed, so the two now agree exactly. No USD price moved and no score changed.
