⚠ Repositioned — "Hostinger Horizons" is no longer available as a separate product. On 18 August 2026 Hostinger merged it into Hostinger AI Builder. The vendor's own words: AI Builder "evolved from merging our website builder and Horizons into a single builder with two modes – Manual for drag-and-drop editing, and Agentic for vibe coding." A site-wide banner says plainly: "Website Builder and Horizons are now AI builder."

The tool did not die — its price list did. hostinger.com/horizons and /horizons/pricing both 301-redirect to /ai-builder. The Explorer, Starter, Hobbyist and Hustler tiers this review scores no longer exist. AI credits are now bundled into 48-month hosting plans, and Hostinger publishes real Australian-dollar prices on its AU site. The pricing section below has been rebuilt around AI Builder, and the score was re-adjudicated on 21 September 2026: Value for Money fell 4/5 → 3/5 (the free trial is gone and the advertised rate now needs 48 months paid upfront) while Australian Fit rose 2/5 → 3/5 (Hostinger now publishes native AUD). The two cancel, so the total stays 16/25.

Verdict (TL;DR), updated 20 September 2026: Hostinger AI Builder — the tool sold as Horizons until August 2026 — is still the cheapest way to turn a plain-English idea into a working web app, not just a brochure site, with hosting, domain and SSL bundled in. It's the most "app builder" tool in this category. Buy it for a simple internal tool, MVP or interactive site on a tight budget. Skip it if you want a polished marketing site, generous AI limits, or a monthly bill — the advertised rate needs 48 months paid upfront. It does now bill Australians in Australian dollars, which it didn't in June.

What Hostinger Horizons is

Hostinger Horizons is the AI app builder from Hostinger, the large Lithuania-based web-hosting company. Where the rest of this category mostly builds websites, Horizons leans toward web applications: describe what you want — a booking tool, a simple directory, a calculator, an interactive landing page — and it generates a working app, with Hostinger's hosting, a domain and SSL bundled underneath. It's the tool here that sits closest to the "App" half of "Website & App Builders," while staying firmly no-code (you don't get the source code by default; higher tiers add a code editor).

Because hosting is Hostinger's core business, Horizons' pitch is convenience: idea in, deployed app out, all on one bill — no separate hosting to wire up.

Since 18 August 2026 that tool is called Hostinger AI Builder. The Horizons experience survives as AI Builder's agentic mode; the old drag-and-drop Website Builder is now its manual mode. Everything described in this review still exists. The name, the URL and the entire price list do not.

What it costs in Australia

This section was rebuilt on 20 September 2026. The Horizons tiers are gone. You now buy a Hostinger hosting plan, and AI Builder comes with it.

Two things changed for the better and one for the worse. Hostinger now quotes real Australian dollars on its AU site, so there is no FX guesswork. But every plan is paid 48 months upfront, and the advertised monthly rate is just the total divided by 48. The renewal rate is three to four times the promotional one.

Prices below are from hostinger.com/au/ai-builder/pricing, read 20 September 2026. Hostinger's footer states prices are listed without tax.

Plan Promo A$/mo (48 months upfront) Paid upfront Renews at What you get
Premium A$4.39 (list A$17.39) A$210.72 A$15.89/mo Up to 3 websites, 5 AI credits, 2 mailboxes, free domain 1 yr
Unlimited A$5.79 (list A$27.49) A$277.92 A$24.59/mo Unlimited websites, 15 AI credits, ecommerce, email marketing
Cloud Startup A$11.59 (list A$40.49) A$556.32 A$37.59/mo Unlimited websites, 15 AI credits, 20 Hostinger Agents credits

Currency basis: native AUD from Hostinger's Australian pricing page — no conversion, per our AUD pricing rule. Prices are listed without tax. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies. The 7-day no-card trial this review recorded in June is no longer advertised on the pricing page.

Read the credit line carefully. The plan cards describe the 5 and 15 AI credits as a one-time gift, not a monthly allowance. Hostinger's own FAQ on the same page still calls them "monthly AI credits". The two statements contradict each other, and we are not going to guess which is right — ask before you buy, and assume one-time. You can buy more credits without upgrading. Credit usage is dynamic: Hostinger says a simple generation can cost less than one credit and a large one more.

The practical effect for an Australian buyer is blunt. A US$6.99 monthly entry point became a A$210.72 cheque for four years of hosting.

How it works in practice

The flow is prompt-first: describe the app, watch Horizons build it, then refine by chatting more prompts. For a simple interactive tool — a quote calculator, a booking page, a small directory, an MVP to show an investor — it gets you to a working, deployed result fast, and the bundled hosting removes the usual "now how do I put this online?" step.

The constraint is the credit meter, and it is tighter than it was. Every build and iteration spends credits, and Premium now ships 5 credits described on the plan card as a one-time gift — not the monthly allowance the old Horizons ladder carried. Heavy trial-and-error, which prompt-based building inevitably involves, will exhaust that almost immediately, so budget for buying more. There is no longer a free trial to discover that limit on: you commit first and rely on the 30-day money-back guarantee. Output quality is good for simple apps and thinner for anything ambitious; this is an emerging product, capable but still maturing, and complex apps expose the edges.

For a budget-conscious Australian who wants a functional thing online rather than a beautiful brochure, the value is still real. The catch is now the commitment, not the currency: the A$4.39/month headline is a four-year cheque, and month five of a renewed Premium plan costs A$15.89.

What it does well

  • Cheapest serious entry in the category — from A$4.39/mo with hosting bundled, though only on a 48-month prepayment.
  • Genuinely app-oriented. Builds interactive tools and MVPs, not just static sites — the standout in this set for that.
  • Hosting, domain and SSL bundled. One bill, nothing to wire up separately.
  • Code editor on higher tiers for users who want to go beyond pure no-code. Agentic mode also lets you download your code.
  • Backed by a large, established host — Hostinger isn't a fragile startup.

What it doesn't do well

  • Credit-metered, and the meter got tighter. Premium now ships 5 AI credits, described on the plan card as a one-time gift rather than a monthly allowance.
  • Four-year prepayment. Hostinger now bills Australians in AUD, which is a genuine improvement, but every plan is paid 48 months upfront and renews three to four times higher.
  • Maturing output. Great for simple apps; the edges show on anything complex.
  • No Australian data residency. Hostinger's data centres span the US, Europe and Asia (Singapore is the nearest) — no AU region.
  • Less polish for marketing sites than Wix, Squarespace or Framer — that's not its game.

Australian fit

One of the two things we marked this tool down for in June has been fixed. Hostinger now publishes native Australian-dollar prices for AI Builder on its AU site, so there is no conversion and no FX guesswork. Tax is still excluded from the listed figure, so check the number at checkout.

The other complaint stands. There's no Australian data-centre region; the closest is Singapore, so an Australian app's data sits offshore, with the modest latency and Privacy-Act considerations that implies for anything storing customer data. Support is online and not on AU time, and the AI's defaults remain US-centric.

The new 48-month prepayment cuts the other way. AUD billing helps an Australian buyer; a four-year commitment on a maturing product does not.

Re-scored on 21 September 2026: Australian Fit is now 3/5, up from 2/5. Native AUD on an Australian pricing page is the item this publication weights most heavily, and it flipped from fail to pass. It cannot reach 4/5 without an Australian data region or a clear GST statement, and it has neither.

Alternatives

  • 10Web — consider it if you want AI-built WordPress you own, with a possible Sydney hosting region. (See our 10Web review.)
  • Durable — consider it if you want a fast one-page business site plus CRM rather than an app. (See our Durable review.)
  • Wix — consider it if you want a polished site with bookings/store, billed in AUD. Our Top Pick. (See our Wix review.)

Bottom line

Hostinger Horizons is the budget app-builder, and it's the most genuinely "build me an app" tool in this category. For an Australian who wants a working interactive tool, MVP or simple web app online cheaply — with hosting handled — it's hard to beat on price, and the bundled stack removes real friction.

It's not trying to be a polished marketing-site builder, and it shouldn't be judged as one.

What has changed is the deal, not the software. Ask for AI Builder, not Horizons. Hostinger now bills Australians in Australian dollars, which is a real improvement on the USD-only terms we reviewed in June. But the entry price is a 48-month prepayment, the renewal rate is three to four times the headline, and the AI credits are thinner than the old monthly allowances. Buy it to ship a functional idea cheaply if you are confident you want four years of Hostinger hosting. Reach for Wix or Squarespace if what you actually need is a good-looking business website. Watch the credit costs as you iterate — that's where the real bill hides.

Score

Criterion Score Notes
Value for Money 3/5 (was 4/5, re-scored 21 Sep 2026) Still the cheapest serious entry in the category at A$4.39/mo, and every figure is disclosed — promo, upfront total, regular total and renewal rate. Marked down because the 7-day no-card trial is gone, the advertised rate requires 48 months paid upfront (A$210.72), renewal is 262% higher at A$15.89/mo, and Premium now ships 5 one-time AI credits rather than a monthly allowance
Ease of Use 4/5 Prompt-to-app is simple; deployment is handled for you
Feature Depth 3/5 Genuinely app-capable but maturing; complex builds expose the edges
Australian Fit 3/5 (was 2/5, re-scored 21 Sep 2026) Native AUD published on an Australian pricing page — no conversion, no FX guesswork — plus 24/7 support. Held to 3 because there is no Australian data-centre region, and the AU page's own footer says "Prices are listed without VAT", which tells an Australian buyer nothing about GST
Reliability & Support 3/5 Backed by a large host; support is online and not on AU time
Total 16/25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good — unchanged; the two re-scored criteria moved in opposite directions
Update history
  • 9 Oct 2026 — Re-confirmed for the AUD-claim queue (#438), hostinger.com/au/ai-website-builder read in a browser on an Australian connection: every figure in the table stands — Premium A$4.39 a month on the 48-month term (A$210.72 up front, renews at A$15.89), Unlimited A$5.79 (A$277.92, renews A$24.59), Cloud Startup A$11.59 (A$556.32, renews A$37.59) — all native Australian dollars, and the Horizons name no longer appears on the page. No figure changes; aud_native: true stands. Capture: Dossiers/captures/hostinger-horizons-pricing-2026-10-09.txt.
  • 21 Sep 2026 — The two criteria flagged on 20 September have been re-scored, and they cancel. Value for Money 4/5 → 3/5; Australian Fit 2/5 → 3/5; the total stays 16/25 and the band stays ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good. Value for Money fell because the 7-day no-card trial recorded in June is gone from the pricing page, the advertised A$4.39/mo requires 48 months paid upfront (A$210.72) and renews 262% higher at A$15.89/mo, and Premium ships 5 one-time AI credits, was a monthly allowance. Australian Fit rose because Hostinger now publishes native Australian-dollar prices on an Australian pricing page — the item we weight most heavily — alongside 24/7 support; it is held at 3/5 by the absence of any Australian data region and by a footer that reads "Prices are listed without VAT" on an AU page. Australian Fit 3/5 is still under the Australian Fit threshold of 4/5, so no five stars and no Top Pick — unchanged. A stale line in "How it works in practice" claiming 30 credits a month and a 5-prompt/day trial was also corrected. All figures re-verified at hostinger.com/au/ai-builder/pricing, 21 September 2026. • 20 Sep 2026 — Hostinger Horizons is no longer available as a standalone product; it is now a mode inside Hostinger AI Builder. Hostinger dates the merger to 18 August 2026 and describes AI Builder as having "evolved from merging our website builder and Horizons into a single builder with two modes". /horizons and /horizons/pricing now 301 to /ai-builder. The scored ladder is gone: Explorer US$6.99/mo (≈A$9.79), Starter US$13.99 (≈A$21.70), Hobbyist US$39.99 (≈A$56) and Hustler US$79.99 (≈A$112) no longer exist. They are replaced by three hosting plans that bundle AI credits, all billed 48 months upfront and ex-tax: Premium A$4.39/mo promo (A$210.72 upfront, renews A$15.89/mo), Unlimited A$5.79/mo (A$277.92, renews A$24.59/mo), Cloud Startup A$11.59/mo (A$556.32, renews A$37.59/mo). • 20 Sep 2026 — Hostinger now publishes native Australian-dollar pricing at hostinger.com/au/ai-builder/pricing, where this review recorded USD-only billing in June. That removes the FX guesswork the review penalised, so Australian Fit (2/5) and Value for Money (4/5) are flagged for re-rating and the 16/25 total is carried, not defended. Frequently asked questions

Is Hostinger Horizons available in Australia?

Yes, but not under that name. Since 18 August 2026 Horizons has been part of Hostinger AI Builder, where it is the agentic mode. It is accessible from Australia. The catch is hosting location: there's no Australian data centre — the closest region is Singapore, so an Australian app's data sits offshore.

Does Hostinger Horizons charge in AUD?

It does now. Hostinger publishes native Australian-dollar pricing for AI Builder at hostinger.com/au. Plans start at A$4.39/month on Premium, paid 48 months upfront (A$210.72) and renewing at A$15.89/month. Prices are listed without tax. In June 2026 this review recorded USD-only billing from US$6.99/month.

Is there a free trial?

Not any more. The 7-day no-card trial with 5 prompts a day is no longer advertised on Hostinger's pricing page. What's offered instead is a 30-day money-back guarantee. Every plan is paid upfront, so you commit first and claim the refund if it doesn't suit.

What's the catch with credits?

The allowance shrank and the wording is unclear. Premium now lists 5 AI credits and Unlimited 15, described on the plan card as a one-time gift — where the old Explorer tier gave 30 credits a month. Hostinger's own FAQ on the same page still says "monthly AI credits". Confirm which applies before you buy.

Who is Hostinger Horizons best for?

Budget-conscious Australians who want a working interactive tool, MVP or simple web app online cheaply with hosting bundled in. It's still the most genuinely "build me an app" tool in the category. Look for it as Hostinger AI Builder. For a polished marketing site, look at Wix instead.
