10Web vs Hostinger Horizons (2026): WordPress or App?
Our pick: 10Web. The verdict below says who should buy the other.
Verdict (TL;DR): Both are AI builders that bundle their own hosting. The difference is what they leave you holding. 10Web (17/25) generates a real WordPress site you can export, own and move — with a selectable Sydney hosting region. Hostinger Horizons (16/25) turns a prompt into a cheap web app on Hostinger's stack, no WordPress involved. Buy 10Web if you want the WordPress ecosystem underneath and the option of Australian data residency. Buy Horizons if you want the cheapest way to ship a simple app or MVP and don't care what runs it. For the typical Australian small-business owner building a proper website, 10Web wins.

⚠ Update — 20 September 2026: Hostinger Horizons is no longer available under that name. Hostinger merged it into Hostinger AI Builder on 18 August 2026, where it survives as the agentic mode. The Explorer tier compared below no longer exists. Hostinger now bills Australians in Australian dollars, from A$4.39/month paid 48 months upfront, renewing at A$15.89/month. That removes one of the two shared weaknesses this piece rests on, so the Horizons column has been rebuilt and the head-to-head is flagged for a re-run. The 10Web figures are carried from 30 June 2026 and were not re-checked today.

The tension
These two tools look like rivals and aren't, quite. Both take a plain-English brief and build you something live, with hosting attached, on one bill. That is where the overlap ends.
10Web builds a WordPress site. What it generates is standard WordPress, so you can export it, hand it to a developer, bolt on any plugin, or move hosts. You own the asset.
Hostinger Horizons builds a web app — a booking tool, a calculator, a small directory, an MVP. It is prompt-to-app, no-code, and firmly on Hostinger's platform. You do not get the source by default.
So the real question is not "which is better." It is: do you want WordPress underneath, or not? Answer that and the pick almost makes itself.
What it costs in Australia
The Hostinger column was rebuilt on 20 September 2026. Horizons' USD ladder is gone, replaced by AI Builder's Australian-dollar hosting plans. The 10Web column is carried from 30 June 2026 and was not re-checked today.
| 10Web (AI Starter) — June 2026 | Hostinger AI Builder (Premium) — September 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | US$10/mo, annual | A$4.39/mo promotional, 48 months upfront |
| Australian cost | ≈ A$15.50/mo at ~1.40 | A$210.72 upfront, renews A$15.89/mo |
| AI credits | 100/month | 5, described on the plan card as a one-time gift |
| Websites | 1 | Up to 3 |
| Next tier up | AI Premium US$15/mo (≈ A$21.00) | Unlimited A$5.79/mo (A$277.92 upfront, renews A$24.59) |
| Free trial | No — 30-day money-back | No — 30-day money-back |
| Hosting | Managed Google Cloud, region-selectable | Hostinger stack, region set by host |
| Tax treatment | No AUD invoice; tax at checkout | Native AUD; prices listed without tax |
Currency basis: Hostinger figures are native AUD from its Australian pricing page, read 20 September 2026 — no conversion, per our AUD pricing rule. The 10Web figure is a June conversion at ~1.40. Vendor pricing pages in Sources below.
The comparison has changed shape. On the promotional rate Hostinger is far cheaper — A$4.39 a month against roughly A$15.50 — but that rate only exists if you prepay four years, A$210.72 in one go. Renew, and it costs A$15.89 a month, which is line-ball with 10Web.
Read the credit line, because it moved the wrong way. Horizons gave 30 AI credits a month. Premium now lists five, and the plan card calls them a one-time gift while Hostinger's own FAQ on the same page still says "monthly". Ask before you buy. Against 10Web's 100 credits a month, that is no longer a narrow gap.
Feature diff
| 10Web | Hostinger Horizons | |
|---|---|---|
| What it builds | Full WordPress website | Web app / interactive tool |
| You own it? | Yes — exportable WordPress | No source by default; code editor on higher tiers |
| Best output | Multi-page business sites | Booking tools, calculators, MVPs |
| Extensibility | Entire WordPress plugin/theme ecosystem | Limited to the platform |
| Performance | 90+ PageSpeed out of the box | Good for simple apps; maturing |
| Lock-in | None — move host any time | On Hostinger's platform |
| Overall score | 17/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good | 16/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good |
The split is clean. 10Web is the website tool; Horizons is the app tool. 10Web's whole reason to exist is ownership — because the output is real WordPress, you are never trapped. None of the proprietary builders in this category let you export and leave. Horizons trades that away for simplicity and price: it is the most genuinely "build me an app" tool in the set, but the app lives on Hostinger's rails.
The WordPress underneath cuts both ways for 10Web. It buys you 90+ PageSpeed scores, real extensibility and no lock-in. It also means that when you go past what the visual builder covers — a specific plugin, an awkward setting — you are in WordPress territory. Most small-business sites never need to go there. But the floor and the ceiling are both "this is WordPress," and that reassures some owners and worries others.
Horizons has the opposite shape. It hides all the machinery. That is ideal for a non-technical owner shipping a functional tool, and thinner when you want a polished marketing site — which is not its game. Judge it as an app builder, not a website builder, and it holds up.
Australian fit
This is where the two scores separate, and where the decision earns its weight.
Data residency. 10Web wins outright. Its data-centre list includes "Sydney, Australia (australia-southeast1-c)," so you can host your site on Australian infrastructure — a genuine residency option none of the proprietary AI builders offer. Horizons has no Australian data centre; the nearest region is Singapore, so an Australian app's data sits offshore. For anything storing customer data, that carries the usual latency and Privacy-Act considerations.
Billing and GST. This has flipped since June. Hostinger now publishes native Australian-dollar pricing for AI Builder, so there is no FX guesswork on that side any more, though the listed prices still exclude tax. 10Web, on our June check, remained USD-only with no local tax invoice. What Hostinger gives back with one hand it takes with the other: the cheap rate requires a four-year prepayment.
Support. 10Web runs 24/7 chat on Google Cloud infrastructure with a 99.99% uptime claim. Horizons is backed by Hostinger, a large established host, but support is online and not on Australian time. Neither is a mega help-centre; 10Web edges it on the reliability story.
On 21 September 2026 we re-scored the Horizons side. Both tools now sit on Australian Fit 3/5. 10Web holds its 3/5 — held back by USD billing, lifted by ownership and confirmed selectable Sydney hosting. Horizons rises from 2/5 to 3/5 because Hostinger now publishes native Australian-dollar pricing; it cannot go higher without an AU data region or a clear GST line, and its AU pricing page still says "Prices are listed without VAT". Its Value for Money fell 4/5 to 3/5 in the same pass (the free trial is gone and the advertised rate needs 48 months upfront), so its total is unchanged at 16/25. Neither clears the 4/5 Australian Fit gate, so neither can be a category Top Pick. On data residency, which has not changed, 10Web remains the stronger of the two — and that, not the one-point total gap, is what the verdict below turns on.
Who buys which
Buy 10Web if:
- You want a proper business website, not an app.
- Owning your site — and being able to move it — matters.
- You want the WordPress plugin ecosystem available as you grow.
- Australian data residency is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- The phrase "it's WordPress underneath" reassures you rather than worries you.
Buy Hostinger AI Builder (formerly Horizons) if:
- You want to ship a working app, tool or MVP, not a marketing site.
- Price is the deciding factor and you're on a tight budget.
- You don't need WordPress, ownership or Australian hosting.
- The thing you're building is non-sensitive, so offshore data is a non-issue.
- You'll keep your iterations disciplined, because the credit allowance is now five, not thirty.
- You are comfortable prepaying four years of hosting to get the advertised rate.
The verdict
For the typical Australian small-business owner — the one building a real website to win customers — 10Web is the pick. It scores higher (17/25 to 16/25), it hands you an asset you own instead of one you rent, and it is the only tool here with a genuine Australian data-residency path. Those are the things that matter over the life of a business website.
Horizons is not beaten so much as aimed elsewhere. It is the budget app-builder, and on that job it is hard to fault — the cheapest way to turn an idea into a deployed, working tool, with hosting handled. If what you need is an MVP or an internal calculator rather than a shopfront, it is the smarter buy, and the price is real.
But most small-business owners asking "which AI builder should I use for my site" want a site, want to own it, and would rather their data sat in Sydney than Singapore. On all three counts, 10Web answers better, and none of that turns on price.
One caveat has now half-resolved. In June we said this comparison would get closer if either vendor added AUD billing. Hostinger has. It also moved to a four-year prepayment and cut the credit allowance, so the net effect on an Australian buyer is not obviously positive. This head-to-head is flagged for a re-run against AI Builder with fresh 10Web figures. Until then, 10Web is the one to back for a website.
