Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).

Verdict (TL;DR): B12 is a fast, opinionated AI website builder aimed squarely at service businesses — accountants, consultants, clinics, trades with a booking page. Describe your business, and it drafts a full site with copy, layout and built-in scheduling and invoicing in roughly a minute. That speed is real and the all-in-one bundle is genuinely useful. But it bills in US dollars only, says nothing about where Australian customer data is hosted, and locks its best "done-for-you" tier to US-based companies. For a Melbourne consultant who wants a working site by lunchtime, the entry plan does the job. For anyone who wanted the premium hand-holding B12 markets, you can't actually buy it from Australia.

Score: 15/25 — ⭐⭐⭐ Good

What B12 is

B12 is an AI website builder for service-based businesses. You type a short description of what you do, and its AI generates a complete first-draft website — pages, layout and written copy — instead of handing you a blank template. From there you refine the site by chatting to an AI Agent: "make the hero shorter," "add a pricing page," "change the colour to navy."

What separates B12 from a generic site builder is the business toolkit bolted on. Depending on plan, you get online scheduling, payments and invoicing, client intake forms, email marketing, a contact manager, and contracts with eSignatures — all in one subscription. It's pitched less as "a website" and more as "the front desk for a small service firm."

It is not built for product retailers. Native e-commerce is thin: B12 can show products and prices, but taking payment for goods leans on a third-party embed rather than a built-in checkout. B12's own pages don't market a full online store or a Shopify integration, so if you sell physical stock, look elsewhere.

What it costs in Australia

B12 prices everything in US dollars. There is no AUD billing and no Australian pricing page. Conversions below use the Directory's ~1.40 rate shown ex-GST (a GST-registered business quoting its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers add ~10%). GST treatment for an Australian buyer of a US digital service varies — check with your accountant.

Plan USD price Approx AUD (ex-GST) Who it's for

Website US$24/mo (US$20/mo billed annually) ~A$34/mo (~A$28/mo annual) DIY site, custom domain, analytics, 100 AI credits/month
Website + Client Engagement US$78/mo (US$67/mo annual) ~A$109/mo (~A$94/mo annual) 300 AI credits/month; adds payments, invoicing, email marketing, eSignatures
Professional (DIFY) US$199/mo (US$169/mo annual) ~A$279/mo (~A$237/mo annual) Done-for-you setup — US service companies only
Advanced (DIFY) US$399/mo (US$339/mo annual) ~A$559/mo (~A$475/mo annual) DIFY + 5 team seats, blog content — US only

Source: B12 pricing page, re-read in a browser 30 September 2026, and B12 support pricing article (last updated 18 August 2026). New users can try a paid plan for US$1 for 7 days. Annual plans are billed at a 15% discount. The two "Do-It-For-You" tiers (Professional and Advanced) and the one-time setup fee are restricted to US-based service companies per B12's own support documentation.

The practical takeaway for Australians: you can buy the Free, Website and Website + Client Engagement plans. The premium done-for-you service that B12 spends much of its marketing on is off the table here.

How it works in practice

You start by describing your business in a sentence or two. B12 then generates a full draft site — a homepage, a few inner pages and AI-written copy already populated. B12 markets this as launching "in minutes" rather than quoting a guaranteed time; in practice the first draft lands quickly, but treat the headline speed as marketing, not a stopwatch promise.

Editing is conversational. You tell the AI Agent what to change and the draft updates, or you switch to a visual editor and click an element directly to adjust it. Edits draw on a monthly pool of "AI credits" — 100/month on Website, 300/month on Website + Client Engagement, and 5 a day (capped at 30 a month) on Free. Heavy iterators on the free tier will hit the wall fast.

Once the site is live, the business tools matter more than the page builder. On the Client Engagement plan a client can land on your site, book a slot, fill an intake form, sign a contract and pay an invoice — without you stitching together Calendly, DocuSign and a payment link yourself. That consolidation is the real pitch, and for a solo consultant it removes genuine admin friction.

What it does well

  • Speed from zero to live. A blank-page-to-published service site in a single sitting is realistic, not marketing fluff. For a time-poor operator that's the whole value.
  • The bundled back office. Scheduling, invoicing, intake, contracts and email marketing in one subscription saves you wiring up four separate tools and paying four bills.
  • Plain-English editing. Chatting changes to an AI Agent is genuinely easier for a non-technical owner than learning a drag-and-drop grid.
  • A usable free tier. You can build and preview a real site before paying — rare honesty in this category.
  • Clear fit. It knows it's for service firms and doesn't pretend to be everything, which keeps the output focused.

What it doesn't do well

  • USD-only, no AUD billing. Every plan is priced and charged in US dollars. You wear currency conversion and card FX on every monthly invoice, and budgeting is a moving target.
  • No stated Australian data residency. We could find no statement on B12's own pages about where Australian customer or client data is hosted. For a clinic, accountant or anyone holding client records under the Privacy Act, that silence is a real gap — ask B12 directly before you store sensitive client data.
  • The premium tier is US-only. The Professional and Advanced done-for-you plans — the ones with expert copywriters and ongoing SEO — are restricted to US-based service companies. Australians simply can't buy the headline offering.
  • Weak native e-commerce. No real product checkout without a third-party embed, and no Shopify integration. Retailers are out.
  • Credit ceilings on editing. AI edits are metered. Free-tier tinkerers and heavy revisers will hit monthly caps and feel nudged to upgrade.

Australian fit

This is where B12 thins out for our readers. The product itself works fine from Australia — the site loads, the tools function, AU clients can book and pay. But three things count against it. First, there is no AUD billing, so you carry US-dollar pricing and conversion on every charge. Second, B12 makes no published commitment about Australian data residency, which matters the moment you store client contact details, intake forms or contracts — exactly what the Client Engagement plan encourages. Third, the premium done-for-you service is gated to US companies, so the most "concierge" version of B12 is unavailable here.

None of that breaks the DIY plans for a confident solo operator. It does mean B12 treats Australia as a market it serves rather than one it's built for. Score it accordingly: this is a capable global tool, not a locally-tuned one.

Alternatives

  • Wix — broader builder with stronger e-commerce and an AU-friendly footprint; more flexible if you sell products.
  • Squarespace — more design polish and better native commerce, though less of an all-in-one back office for bookings and invoicing.
  • Durable — closest direct rival on the "AI site in seconds for service businesses" promise; worth a head-to-head.

Bottom line

If you run a service business and want a working site with bookings and invoicing live by this afternoon, B12 earns its place — the Website + Client Engagement plan at ~A$109/mo (or ~A$94/mo annual) buys a real all-in-one front desk. Just go in clear-eyed: you're paying in US dollars, you have no written assurance about where Australian client data sits, and the premium done-for-you tier B12 advertises isn't sold to Australians at all. For a confident DIY operator it's Good. For anyone who needed the concierge version, or who handles sensitive client records and wants data-residency certainty, it falls short of a recommendation.

  • 30 Sep 2026 — re-verified by browser; the entry plan halved in price and was renamed. b12.io/pricing on an Australian connection: Basic (US$49, US$42 annual, 200 AI credits) is now "Website" at US$24 a month, US$20 billed yearly, with 100 AI credits and up to 10 launched projects; Website + Client Engagement is now Website + Client Engagement, still US$78 / US$67 with 300 credits; Free now gets 5 AI credits a day, capped at 30 a month. The done-for-you Professional (US$199 / US$169) and Advanced (US$399 / US$339) hold. New users can try a paid plan for $1 for 7 days. Bare $, no A$; the page's structured data says USD. The pricing page no longer mentions the US-only restriction or the US$1,999 setup fee, but B12's support article (last updated 18 Aug 2026) still states both and still lists the old Basic plan, so the restriction stays in this review on that source. Table, credits, plan names, bottom line and both pricing FAQs (body and schema) updated; tile moves from A$59/mo to A$28/mo. Score unchanged: the cheaper entry helps Value for Money, but the 3/5 note already turned on USD billing and metered credits, not the entry price. • 20 Jun 2026 — First reviewed.
  • 24 Sep 2026 — The AUD column was never grossed up for GST, and every word around it said it was. The header read “gross-up; GST unconfirmed” and the note beneath described a 10% uplift — while the figures themselves are plain conversions at 1.4045. Checked before changing a word: across the 63 files carrying this wording, 141 rows convert at 1.4045 and none at 1.4045 × 1.10. No figure changed here; only the description of them did. Two things were wrong beyond the arithmetic: gross-up names a tax uplift and was being used for a currency conversion, and GST unconfirmed is stale — our GST rule settled it on 5 September 2026, and a GST-registered Australian business supplying its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. No USD price moved and no score changed. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.

Frequently asked questions

Is B12 available in Australia?

Partly. The Free, Website and Website + Client Engagement plans work fine from Australia — the site loads, the tools function, and AU clients can book and pay. But the premium done-for-you tiers (Professional and Advanced) are restricted to US-based service companies, so you can't buy B12's headline concierge offering here.

Does B12 charge in AUD?

No. B12 prices everything in US dollars with no Australian pricing page, so you wear currency conversion and card FX on every monthly invoice. GST treatment for an Australian buyer of a US digital service varies — check with your accountant.

Is there a free plan or free trial?

Yes — a usable free tier lets you build and preview a real site (on a B12 subdomain, with limited AI credits) before paying. Paid plans run from US$24/month (Website, US$20/month billed yearly) up.

Does B12 store Australian data onshore?

Unknown. B12's own pages make no published statement about where Australian customer or client data is hosted — a real gap given the Client Engagement plan encourages you to store contact details, intake forms and contracts. Ask B12 directly before storing sensitive client data.

Who is B12 best for?

A confident solo service operator — accountant, consultant, clinic, trades — who wants a working site with bookings and invoicing live the same day. It's not for product retailers: native e-commerce is thin, with no built-in checkout or Shopify integration.
