Verdict (TL;DR): hireEZ is one of the more technically capable AI sourcing platforms available — it searches 45+ platforms and the open web, automates personalised outreach, and now adds AI voice phone screening with candidate-fit analysis. For large Australian enterprises with dedicated sourcing teams and significant volume, it may be worth a conversation. For most Australian employers — particularly SMBs and anyone for whom SEEK drives the majority of applications — the enterprise-first positioning, fully opaque pricing, US data hosting, and significant questions around candidate personal data scraping under Australian law make it a hard sell. The Privacy Act questions around sourcing candidate data from public profiles are material and require legal advice before deployment.

Score: 13/25 — ⭐⭐⭐ Good

Last reviewed: 26 June 2026 by Adam.

This review is general information only and does not constitute HR, legal, or compliance advice. The scraping of candidate personal information from public profiles raises specific questions under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Australian employers deploying AI sourcing tools that collect candidate data from third-party platforms must take legal advice before doing so. The OAIC's automated decision-making transparency rule commences 10 December 2026.

What hireEZ is

hireEZ is a US-based talent acquisition platform headquartered in Mountain View, California. Founded in 2015 as "Hiretual" before rebranding to hireEZ in 2022, it positions itself as an "agentic AI recruiting platform" that can sit on top of your existing ATS or function as a standalone all-in-one.

The original product — and still the core — is AI sourcing: searching the open web, professional social networks, job boards, and 45+ other platforms to find passive candidates who match a job description. On top of that it has added a CRM, outreach automation, AI applicant review, AI voice phone screening, interview scheduling, and analytics. More recently, it has added an ATS to close the loop as a full-stack option.

Notable customers include Samsara, Lyft, Visa, Fidelity, Zoom, Accenture, Hilton, PwC, Mastercard, and Kaiser Permanente — predominantly large US enterprises.

What it costs in Australia

hireEZ's pricing was fully sales-led when this review was drafted in June. That has changed: on 6 September 2026 hireez.com/pricing states that solo recruiters start at US$494 a month with a 7-day free trial (about A$692 a month ex-GST), while enterprise seats are "configured to the stack" and still quoted. Historical third-party references suggest contract values typically in the range of USD $20,000–$60,000+ per year for enterprise accounts — (third-party estimate — not published by the vendor).

GST treatment is not published by the vendor. Under ATO rules a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow about 10% on top. As a US SaaS provider, confirm with hireEZ and your accountant whether GST applies to Australian business invoices.

AUD conversion at ~1.40: a USD $20,000/year contract would be approximately AUD $28,000/year ex-GST. The solo entry point changes the picture at the bottom — a single recruiter can now buy in for roughly A$8,300 a year — but team deployments remain enterprise procurement.

How it works in practice

hireEZ's workflow is centred on outbound recruiting: your recruiters describe the candidate they need, and hireEZ's AI searches for them rather than waiting for applications to arrive.

AI Sourcing Hub: Searches across your existing ATS database, job boards, and the open web. AI matches candidates to the job criteria, ranks them, and surfaces contact details for outreach.

Applicant Match: For inbound applicants already in your ATS, AI matches them against job requirements and flags top fits for faster review.

AI Phone Screening: AI conducts phone screenings via natural voice conversations — asking structured questions, adapting in real time, and evaluating candidate responses. Recruiters receive a conversation summary, highlighted insights, and a job-fit analysis.

Automated Outreach: Multi-channel campaigns across email, SMS, and LinkedIn InMail. AI generates personalised messages and follows up automatically.

Rediscovery: Searches your existing ATS for past candidates who match current openings — reduces the cost of re-sourcing.

Analytics: Strategy Hub tracks recruitment funnel metrics, team adoption, and pipeline efficiency.

The bias assessment is also notable: hireEZ has engaged independent auditor Armilla AI to assess its sourcing platform, applicant match CRM platform, and AI screening for bias — and publishes the audit reports on its AI values page.

What it does well

AI sourcing depth is genuine. Searching 45+ platforms and the open web for passive candidates is substantively more capable than most ATS-bundled sourcing tools. For enterprise recruiting teams trying to fill highly specialised roles where inbound is insufficient, this is the point of the product.

AI voice screening is differentiated. Few competitors offer AI-conducted phone screenings at this level of integration. For high-volume roles where phone screening is a genuine bottleneck, this reduces recruiter time per candidate materially.

Bias audits are published. Third-party bias audit reports (Armilla AI) for the sourcing platform, applicant match, and AI screening are publicly available. This is better AI accountability disclosure than many competitors — and is relevant to the ADM transparency obligation.

Integration breadth. 40+ ATS integrations including Greenhouse, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, and others. Sits on top of your existing ATS rather than requiring a replacement.

Privacy controls for candidates. hireEZ operates an "Own Your Data" tool at app.hireez.com/ownyourdata — candidates whose data has been collected can access, correct, or request deletion. A candidate privacy notice is publicly available.

What it doesn't do well

The candidate data sourcing model creates real Privacy Act questions. hireEZ aggregates candidate personal information from "professional social network sites, other public websites and web platforms, from data brokers or other data vendors" (source: hireEZ candidate privacy notice). In Australia, the collection of personal information — even from publicly available sources — is subject to the Privacy Act 1988. The Australian Privacy Principles require that collection must be lawful and that individuals are notified of collection. The use of data brokers and web scraping to build candidate profiles without direct notification raises specific compliance questions that require legal advice before Australian deployment. The fact that GDPR and CCPA are referenced in hireEZ's compliance documentation, but not the Australian Privacy Act, is a gap you need to investigate.

Fully opaque pricing at enterprise scale. No price is published at any level. This means a full demo and procurement cycle before you know whether it is within budget.

US data hosting. hireEZ hosts on AWS. No Australian or Asia-Pacific data centre is confirmed (verify directly with hireEZ). Under APP 8, offshore disclosure of personal information to an overseas recipient requires reasonable steps to ensure equivalent protection. Given the volume and sensitivity of candidate data hireEZ handles, this is a material compliance question.

ADM transparency — Australian law not addressed. From 10 December 2026, the OAIC's ADM transparency rule requires disclosure in your privacy policy of automated systems used in decisions that could significantly affect individual rights. AI sourcing, applicant matching, and AI phone screening all fall within this scope. hireEZ's AI values documentation is framed around GDPR, CCPA, and US employment law — not Australian law. You will need to satisfy yourself that your use of hireEZ meets Australian disclosure requirements with your own legal team.

Not designed for SEEK-first markets. hireEZ's open web sourcing is LinkedIn-first and US job board-focused. SEEK is not referenced in integration documentation. For Australian employers where SEEK is the primary applicant channel, this is a meaningful gap.

Enterprise-first, not SMB-friendly. The customer list, pricing model, and product complexity are calibrated for large organisations with dedicated sourcing teams. Australian SMBs should look elsewhere.

Australian fit

Dimension Assessment
AUD pricing published No — fully sales-led, enterprise tier
GST treatment Not published by the vendor. Under ATO rules a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow about 10% on top.
Data residency US-hosted (AWS); no AU data centre confirmed
SEEK integration Not referenced in documentation
Privacy Act / APP compliance Candidate data scraping model raises APP questions; AU law not referenced
ADM transparency (10 Dec 2026) Bias audits published; AU-law framing absent; legal advice required
Fair Work / anti-discrimination Not addressed in product documentation
AU customer references Not publicly listed

The critical flag for Australian employers: hireEZ's model of collecting candidate data from public profiles and data brokers needs to be assessed against your specific obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 by an Australian privacy lawyer before you deploy. This is not a theoretical concern — the OAIC has been increasingly active in enforcement, and candidate data practices are an area of specific focus in the context of AI-assisted hiring.

Alternatives

  • Sapia.ai — Australian-built AI screening platform. Built for the AU market, data hosted in Australia, Privacy Act-aware from the ground up. Better AU fit for interview screening use cases.
  • Greenhouse — stronger enterprise ATS with SEEK integration and AU customer base; less AI sourcing depth but cleaner compliance posture.
  • Workable — more accessible ATS with sourcing tools included; better priced for mid-market AU employers.

Bottom line

hireEZ is a genuinely capable AI sourcing and recruiting platform for large organisations with dedicated recruiting teams and high-volume hiring needs. The AI sourcing depth, voice screening, and published bias audits are real product strengths. But for Australian employers, the gaps are serious. The candidate data model raises Privacy Act questions that must be resolved before deployment. Data is US-hosted with no AU centre confirmed. The ADM transparency rule from December 2026 requires legal work to implement correctly. And the pricing model assumes enterprise budgets.

If you are a large Australian employer with a significant sourcing function, a tolerance for enterprise procurement complexity, and the legal resources to address the privacy questions, hireEZ warrants evaluation. For everyone else, start with tools that were designed with the Australian market in mind.

Frequently asked questions

Is hireEZ available in Australia?

hireEZ is technically available to Australian businesses but is primarily designed for large US enterprises. Data is hosted in the US (AWS) with no confirmed Australian data centre. Pricing is enterprise-only with no published rates. Australian employers should seek legal advice on the Privacy Act implications of hireEZ's candidate data collection model before deployment.

Does hireEZ comply with Australian privacy law?

hireEZ references GDPR and CCPA compliance but does not specifically address the Australian Privacy Act 1988 in its public documentation. Its model of collecting candidate personal information from public profiles and data brokers raises questions under the Australian Privacy Principles (APP 3 on collection and APP 5 on notification). Australian employers must take legal advice before deploying hireEZ. From 10 December 2026, the OAIC's ADM transparency rule also requires disclosure of AI-assisted screening in your privacy policy.

What is hireEZ's AI phone screening feature?

hireEZ's AI phone screening conducts structured phone interviews with candidates using natural voice AI. It asks pre-set questions, adapts in real time based on responses, and produces a conversation summary, highlighted insights, and a job-fit analysis for the recruiter. This is an automated decision-making function that, from 10 December 2026, must be disclosed in your Australian privacy policy under the OAIC's ADM transparency rule if it could significantly affect a candidate's rights or interests.
