Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).

Verdict (TL;DR): Vista Social is a solid mid-market social media management platform — it covers 12+ networks, includes AI-assisted captions, review management, and a unified inbox. At its price point it undercuts Hootsuite and Sprout Social meaningfully. For Australian businesses, the value proposition holds, but there's no local data residency, no AUD billing on any full plan, and no timezone-aware scheduling defaults out of the box. Good tool; not built with Australia in mind.

What Vista Social is

Vista Social is a US-based social media management platform founded in 2020. It positions itself as an affordable alternative to Hootsuite and Sprout Social, targeting small-to-medium agencies and marketing teams who manage multiple client accounts across many social channels.

The platform covers scheduling and publishing, social listening, a unified inbox for comments and messages, review management (Google Business, Facebook, Yelp, TripAdvisor, TrustPilot), link-in-bio, and an AI Assistant that generates captions and drafts message replies (model underlying the AI assistant not disclosed on primary source).

Vista Social supports: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads, Snapchat, Reddit, and Bluesky — 12+ networks in total, which is genuinely broad coverage.

What it costs in Australia

Vista Social bills the plans below in USD only, and publishes no AUD price for any of them. (Corrected 21 Sep 2026 — there is one AUD price, for a mobile-only Mobile Pro tier at A$23.99 on the Australian App Store, which is not any of the plans compared here.) All figures below are converted at approximately USD 1 = AUD 1.40 (exchange rate as of September 2026). GST of 10% is additional for Australian business users as this is an offshore digital service. Check with your accountant regarding GST treatment on imported digital services.

Plan USD/month (monthly billing) AUD approx (ex-GST)
Free $0 —
Professional $79 ~$111
Advanced $149 ~$209
Scale $349 ~$489
Enterprise Custom Custom

Plan prices re-read on vistasocial.com/pricing on 6 September 2026 (Professional US$79, Advanced US$149, Scale US$349; social listening from US$75 and employee advocacy from US$199 are add-ons). Annual billing saves approximately 20% across all paid plans. There is a 14-day free trial on paid tiers.

The Free plan includes 3 social profiles and 1 user — workable for very small operators who want to test the platform before committing.

One AUD price exists, and it is not on this table. The Australian App Store listing declares "priceCurrency":"AUD" with Vista Social LLC as seller of record and sells a single in-app purchase: Mobile Pro at A$23.99, GST included, on an Apple tax invoice. There is no App Store equivalent of Professional, Advanced or Scale, so if you need multiple profiles, approvals or reporting you are still buying in US dollars on the web. Read 21 September 2026.

Bottom line on cost: At ~AUD $111/month for the Professional plan, Vista Social is priced competitively against Hootsuite and Sprout Social, but is materially more expensive than Publer at the entry level.

How it works in practice

Setup is web-based only — there is a mobile app, but the core management interface lives in the browser. Connecting accounts is straightforward: OAuth flows for each network.

The content composer lets you write once and customise per-platform — so an Instagram caption can differ from the LinkedIn version without creating separate posts. This is standard in 2026 but Vista Social implements it cleanly.

The AI Assistant (powered by ChatGPT according to secondary review sources (vendor has not explicitly named the underlying model on its pricing or product pages)) generates captions from a prompt, rewrites existing text, and drafts inbox replies. It does not natively understand Australian English idioms, AU spelling conventions, or local context — outputs default to American English and require manual correction.

The unified inbox aggregates comments, messages, and reviews into one queue. This is genuinely useful for smaller teams who don't have a dedicated community manager.

Review management is a standout: on the Advanced plan and above, Vista Social pulls in reviews from Google Business, Facebook, Yelp, TripAdvisor, TrustPilot, and OpenTable. You can respond directly from the dashboard. For a hospitality or retail business managing online reputation, this alone can justify the upgrade from Professional.

Listening — monitoring mentions, keywords, and competitor activity — is available as an add-on starting at USD $75/month (~AUD $105 ex-GST), which is an additional cost on top of the base plan.

What it does well

Breadth of platform coverage. Twelve-plus networks in one tool is exceptional at this price point. Competitors often cap out at 6-8 unless you pay Hootsuite rates.

Review management included in base plans. Google Business and Facebook review response is included on Professional; most competitors charge extra or don't offer it at all.

Unified inbox. Aggregating social messages, comments, and DM replies in one place saves time for small teams juggling multiple accounts.

Clean scheduling calendar. The visual content calendar is well-designed — bulk scheduling, CSV upload, and content library all work without significant friction.

14-day trial on paid plans. You don't need a credit card, which is rare for this category.

What it doesn't do well

AI captions are American English by default. The AI Assistant does not adjust for Australian spelling, AU cultural references, or local tone. Every AI-generated caption needs a manual review pass. A Melbourne café owner asking for a Monday morning post will get something that sounds like it was written for a Brooklyn brunch spot.

No AUD billing on the plans that matter. Your credit card gets charged in USD and exchange-rate fluctuations affect your actual monthly cost — a minor but real inconvenience for Australian business accounting. The App Store does sell a mobile-only Mobile Pro tier at A$23.99 with GST included, but it is not one of the plans above. (Corrected 21 Sep 2026.)

Listening is an expensive add-on. At AUD $105+/month extra, social listening is effectively a separate product. At that combined price, Vista Social starts to look expensive.

Mobile app is limited. Publishing and approvals from mobile work, but the analytics and inbox experience is degraded. If you're a solo operator managing social on the go, this is a friction point.

No native timezone defaulting for AEST. The platform supports scheduling in any timezone, but you have to manually set it — there's no "I'm in Australia, default to AEST/AEDT" onboarding. Scheduling at 9am Sydney time when your client is Melbourne-based is doable, but requires knowing to look for the setting.

Australian fit

Timezone support: Vista Social supports scheduling in AEST and AEDT. You must set this manually per account. It works, but there's no AU-first default.

Automated DMs and the Spam Act 2003: Vista Social includes auto-DM features through its unified inbox and automation tools. Australian businesses using automated direct messages to social media users must comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). The Act covers "electronic messages" which the ACMA has interpreted to include social media DMs in commercial contexts. To comply: ensure recipients have consented to receive commercial messages, include a clear sender identification, and provide an easy opt-out mechanism. Vista Social's automation tools do not include built-in Australian compliance guardrails — that is the user's responsibility.

AI-generated content and the ACL: AI-generated captions used in advertising or endorsement contexts must not mislead Australian consumers. The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct. AI captions for products, services, or sponsored posts must be reviewed before publication to ensure all claims are accurate and substantiated. Vista Social does not add any compliance layer to AI outputs.

Data residency: Vista Social's servers are based in the United States (security page at vistasocial.com/security references US-based infrastructure but does not provide specific server location details). Australian data is transferred offshore. There is no Australian data residency option and no mention of compliance with Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Businesses handling personal information of Australian users should review the implications under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) before using Vista Social to manage customer data.

Support: US business hours. No AU-time support window.

Alternatives

Bottom line

Vista Social is a legitimate contender in the mid-market social media management category. The breadth of platform support and review management features are genuinely useful for Australian agencies and marketing teams. The AI assistant is capable but not AU-aware.

The case for Vista Social is clearest if you need review management and multi-platform scheduling in one tool at under AUD $111/month. The case against it is that AU businesses are paying USD prices, hosting data offshore with no AU residency option, and getting AI captions that need Australianisation.

Recommended for: Australian agencies managing 5+ client accounts across multiple networks who need review management included. Not recommended as a solo-operator entry point — Publer or Buffer offer better value at that scale.

Update history
  • 21 Sep 2026 — The only Australian-dollar price Vista Social publishes is for a mobile-only plan the review does not cover. No score moves. This review says "Vista Social bills in USD only. There is no AUD pricing" and its Australian Fit row leads with it. The Australian App Store listing declares "priceCurrency":"AUD", names Vista Social LLC as seller and carries exactly one in-app purchase: Mobile Pro at A$23.99, GST included, on an Apple tax invoice. That is not the product priced in this review. The plans compared here — Professional at US$79/month, Advanced at US$149, Scale at US$349 — have no App Store equivalent, and a single A$23.99 Mobile Pro tier cannot be mapped onto any of them. It is a phone-only companion plan, sold beside a platform bought on the web. So the correction is factual, not scored: there is one AUD price, it is narrow, and the agency and multi-profile work this review is about still runs through a USD web checkout. Australian Fit holds at 2/5 — no data residency and US-English AI defaults are untouched, and a mobile-only tier does not answer the currency question for a A$111/month platform. • 26 Jun 2026 — First reviewed.
  • 24 Sep 2026 — The grossed-up AUD column removed from the pricing table. The table carried a second Australian column adding 10% GST to every converted figure, so each plan had two Australian prices and the higher one asserted a tax most of our readers do not pay: a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. The ex-GST column is unchanged and is the price. Removed, and kept visible here per our price-history rule — the column headed “AUD approx (if GST charged, +10%)”: Professional ~$122; Advanced ~$230; Scale ~$538. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.
  • 24 Sep 2026 — 1 Australian figure in the prose corrected to agree with this review's own pricing table. The table was verified cell by cell earlier today; it still quoted the retired 1.55 basis, in 1 place — verdict lines, score rationales, the excerpt and the JSON-LD are where a reader actually meets a price, and a pairing check cannot see them because they name no USD figure alongside. Kept visible per our price-history rule: AUD $135 → AUD $111. The replacement values are taken from the table, not recomputed, so the two now agree exactly. No USD price moved and no score changed. reviewed: untouched per our dating rule.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vista Social support Australian timezones for scheduling?

Yes. Vista Social lets you schedule posts in AEST and AEDT, but you must set the timezone manually per account. There is no automatic Australian timezone detection.

Is Vista Social pricing in AUD?

Not for the plans most businesses buy. Vista Social charges in USD on the web — the Professional plan at approximately USD $79/month converts to around AUD $111/month (ex-GST) at ~1.40 — and the only Australian-dollar price it publishes is a mobile-only Mobile Pro tier at A$23.99 on the Australian App Store, GST included. Australian businesses may also need to account for GST on imported digital services.

Does Vista Social store Australian user data in Australia?

Vista Social's infrastructure is US-based. There is no Australian data residency option. Australian businesses handling personal information should review obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) before using the platform to manage customer data.
