Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow ~10% on top (Methodology).

Verdict (TL;DR): Taskade is a genuinely clever all-in-one workspace — tasks, mind maps, docs and a stable of AI agents that actually do work, not just chat about it. The free tier is unusually generous and the paid Starter plan undercuts almost everyone at US$6/mo (around A$8/mo before any GST). But there's no AUD billing, no Australian data hosting, and the security credentials are still "in progress" rather than certified. A strong pick for solo operators and small AU teams who can live with US-dollar billing and US-region data.

What Taskade is

Taskade is a productivity workspace that bundles several tools most people pay for separately: task lists, kanban boards, mind maps, calendars, collaborative documents and — the headline act — AI agents you can build and set loose on your own data.

The pitch is "one prompt to production." You describe what you want, and Taskade's AI scaffolds a project, a workflow, or even a small app around it. Its agents use retrieval over files you upload (PDFs, spreadsheets, CSVs), so you can build something like a "GST bookkeeping assistant" that only answers from your own documents rather than guessing.

Under the bonnet, Taskade routes across 15+ models from four providers — OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and open-weight options — and picks one per task, so you don't manage API keys yourself.

It competes with Notion, ClickUp and Asana, but leans harder into AI agents than any of them.

What it costs in Australia

Taskade prices in US dollars only, billed through Stripe. There is no AUD billing option and no Australian pricing page. GST treatment isn't stated on the billing FAQ — Stripe typically adds Australian GST at checkout for AU consumers, but Taskade doesn't confirm this, so treat the GST line below as an estimate.

AUD figures use our standard ~1.40 exchange rate with a 10% gross-up where GST may apply. Monthly billing shown; annual saves 20%.

Plan Price (USD/mo) Approx AUD (gross-up; GST unconfirmed) AI credits/mo Seats
Free US$0 A$0 3,000 (one-time) 1
Starter US$6 ~A$8 10,000 3
Pro US$16 ~A$22 50,000 10
Business US$40 ~A$56 150,000 Unlimited
Max US$200 ~A$280 400,000 Unlimited
Enterprise US$400 ~A$560 1,100,000 Unlimited

Source: taskade.com/pricing, checked 20 June 2026. AUD figures are conversions, not billed prices. Taskade's pricing page and billing FAQ make no mention of GST, so whether Australian GST is added at checkout is unconfirmed — treat the AUD column as a gross-up, not a billed total.

The free plan is the standout. Most rivals give you a hobbled free tier; Taskade hands you 3,000 AI credits, three deployable apps and the full agent builder to try. For a solo Australian operator, Starter at roughly A$8/mo is sharp value.

One catch worth flagging: everything AI runs on credits, and credits burn faster on heavier models and complex tasks. Heavy agent users on Starter's 10,000/mo can hit the ceiling. Budget for Pro if agents are central to your work.

How it works in practice

Sign-up to a working project takes about five minutes. You type a goal — say, "plan a product launch" — and Taskade generates a structured project with tasks, subtasks and assignees. You can flip the same content between a list, a board, a mind map and a calendar without rebuilding it, which is genuinely useful when you think in outlines but your team thinks in boards.

The AI agents are the real differentiator. Building one takes a few minutes: name it, give it instructions, upload reference files, pick which tools it can use. I built a test agent fed three supplier PDFs and it answered pricing questions from those documents in seconds, citing the source file. That's a real time-saver versus copy-pasting into a generic chatbot.

Automations chain it together — a trigger fires an agent, which updates a task, which notifies a teammate. It's not as deep as a dedicated tool like Zapier, but it covers the common cases.

What it does well

  • Real all-in-one. Tasks, docs, mind maps, calendar and chat live in one workspace. You genuinely can drop two or three separate subscriptions.
  • Agents that act, not just chat. Retrieval over your own files means answers grounded in your documents, with far less hallucination than a bare chatbot.
  • Unusually generous free tier. 3,000 AI credits and three apps with no card required — rare in this category.
  • Sharp entry pricing. Starter at US$6/mo (~A$8) undercuts Notion AI, ClickUp and Asana for a small team.
  • Fast to value. Five minutes from sign-up to a structured, AI-built project. No manual is needed.

What it doesn't do well

  • No AUD billing. You're charged in US dollars via Stripe, so your card issuer adds a foreign-transaction fee (usually 2–3%) on top, and the AUD cost drifts with the exchange rate.
  • No Australian data residency. Infrastructure runs across AWS regions with no AU option named. Your data — and any files you feed agents — likely sits in US regions. A real concern for anyone handling client or regulated data.
  • Security is "in progress," not certified. Taskade's own page says SOC 2 Type II and GDPR alignment are "in progress" — efforts, not completed certification. For risk-averse AU businesses that matters.
  • Credit anxiety. Every AI action spends credits, and the heavier models drain them quickly. The pricing is predictable; your monthly usage is not.
  • Jack of all trades. It does many things well and nothing better than the category leader. Power users of any single tool (deep databases, Gantt charts) will find Taskade shallower than a specialist.

Australian fit

This is where Taskade slips. There is no AUD billing, no AU data hosting, no Australian support presence, and GST treatment isn't documented. None of the outputs are Australia-aware out of the box — though, because you build your own agents, you can instruct one to use Australian spelling, AUD and local context, which partly closes the gap.

For a Melbourne sole trader or a small marketing team that doesn't handle sensitive client records, none of this is a deal-breaker — the US billing is a mild annoyance, not a blocker. But for anyone in finance, legal, health or HR holding regulated Australian data, the lack of data residency and completed compliance certification is a genuine problem. Check your obligations before uploading client files.

Australian Fit scores 2/5: usable here, but built with no thought for Australians specifically.

Alternatives

  • Notion — more polished docs and databases, a bigger ecosystem and templates. Weaker on autonomous agents, and also US-billed.
  • ClickUp — deeper project-management muscle (dashboards, time tracking, Gantt) for bigger teams. Heavier to learn; Taskade is friendlier for solo operators.
  • ChatGPT — if you only want the AI assistant and not the workspace, a standalone chatbot is simpler and cheaper.

Bottom line

Taskade is one of the better-value AI workspaces going, and the most credible attempt yet at folding "your to-do list" and "your AI team" into a single app. For a solo Australian operator or a small, non-regulated team, the free tier is worth ten minutes of your time and Starter is easy to justify.

The reasons it doesn't earn five stars are Australian ones: no AUD billing, no local data residency, and compliance that's still a work in progress. Use it for general productivity and content work — not for anything holding sensitive client or regulated data until the security certifications land.

Is Taskade available in Australia?

Yes. Taskade is a web, desktop and mobile app available to Australian users with no region restriction. There's no AUD billing or Australian support presence, but the tool itself works fine here.

Does Taskade charge in AUD?

Yes, and it's unusually generous. The free tier gives you 3,000 AI credits, three deployable apps and the full agent builder with no card required. Paid plans start at US$6/mo (~A$8) for Starter.

Is Taskade safe for handling Australian client data?
