Presentations.ai Review Australia 2026: A Free Gamma Rival?
- From
- A$29/mo · ex-GST · billed in USD
- History
- Edition 2. Was 15/25, Jun 2026
The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.
Skip to the verdictVerdict (TL;DR): Presentations.ai is a capable AI deck builder with a free tier and clean PowerPoint export — a reasonable Gamma alternative if you're price-sensitive and want to start without a card. But tight free credits, a less-proven track record, and an unclear data-residency story keep it a notch below the leaders. Worth a look; not yet the default.

What Presentations.ai is
Presentations.ai is a standalone AI presentation tool in the same mould as Gamma: type a prompt, get a structured deck, edit it in the browser, then present or export it. It leans on the idea of "ChatGPT for presentations" — generation-first, with templates and brand customisation layered on.
The company is Singapore-based (Presentations.AI, registered in Singapore). Its privacy policy says your personal information "may be transferred to the United States or other locations," and it makes no Australian data-residency commitment. There's no Australian office or data centre. That offshore data path matters for Australian buyers and weighs on the verdict below.
In the Australian market, Presentations.ai competes on price and access. Its free tier lets you build without a credit card, and its paid Pro plan undercuts some rivals. For a reader who wants to try AI decks without commitment, it's a low-barrier entry point — with caveats.
What it costs in Australia
Presentations.ai bills in US dollars; its pricing page says the prices shown are for the US and may vary by country to adjust for purchasing power parity — so the AU checkout figure could differ. Read in a browser on an Australian connection on 9 October 2026, the page showed the US figures with no AUD. Converting at US$1 ≈ A$1.44 (ECB reference rate via Frankfurter, 8 October 2026) and shown ex-GST, the AUD figures below are indicative.
| Plan | Price (USD) | Approx AUD | Credits/yr | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | $0 | 100 | Starter AI model, up to 20 slides, PowerPoint/PDF export, analytics |
| Pro | $20/mo billed annually ($240/yr) | ~A$29/mo (~A$346/yr) | 5,000 | Advanced AI, high-quality PPT export, tracking, brand customisation |
| Gold | $50/mo billed annually ($600/yr) — was $100/mo for 50,000 credits in June 2026 | ~A$72/mo (~A$864/yr) | 25,000 | Frontier AI models and agents, advanced brand customisation, shared knowledge base |
GST: Presentations.ai bills in USD, so as an overseas digital supplier it adds any 10% GST at the checkout rather than issuing a native AUD tax invoice — check the line items at purchase, and note that purchasing-power-parity (PPP) pricing may change the headline figure.
The catch is in the credit allowances. The free Starter plan's 100 credits per year is genuinely tight — enough to trial the tool, not to rely on it. Pro at ~A$29/month (annual) is priced like Gamma Pro but with a less-established product behind it, and Gold at ~A$72/month now sits where a mid-tier should rather than at the A$140 the June edition recorded.
How it works in practice
The core flow is familiar: prompt in, deck out. I asked for a "capability statement for a Brisbane civil-engineering firm" and got a structured first draft in a couple of minutes — title, services, project highlights, team, contact. Quality was solid: coherent structure, reasonable copy, sensible default design.
Editing is browser-based and straightforward, with brand customisation (colours, fonts) available on the paid tiers. PowerPoint export is a stated strength, and in testing the .pptx came across cleanly enough to finish in PowerPoint if needed — useful for AU teams that ultimately present from Microsoft 365.
Sharing covers the expected bases: unbranded links, embedding, and view/slide-engagement analytics. Password-protected links are reserved for Pro and Gold.
Where it shows its youth is polish and depth. The output is good, not class-leading; the template range is narrower than Canva's; and the overall experience doesn't yet feel as refined as Gamma's. None of that is disqualifying — but it's why this sits below the leaders rather than alongside them.
What it does well
- Free to start, no card. The Starter tier lets you build a real deck without payment details — lower friction than Beautiful.ai or Plus AI.
- Clean PowerPoint export. The .pptx output holds up, which suits AU teams that present from Microsoft 365.
- Competitive Pro pricing. ~A$29/month (annual) is in line with Gamma Pro, Gold halved to ~A$72/month in 2026, and PPP pricing may make the AU figure lower.
- Sensible sharing and analytics. Unbranded links, embedding, and engagement tracking come standard.
- Fast first drafts. Prompt-to-deck in a couple of minutes, with coherent structure.
What it doesn't do well
- Stingy free credits. 100 credits a year on Starter is a trial allowance, not a usable free tier.
- Offshore data path. Singapore-based vendor; data may be transferred to the US, with no AU data-residency option — a real concern for cautious AU buyers.
- Less proven. Smaller track record than Gamma (2022) or Beautiful.ai (2018); fewer independent signals of long-term reliability.
- Narrower templates and polish. Output is good but not class-leading; design range trails Canva.
- USD-billed. No confirmed AUD pricing, though PPP adjustment may apply at checkout.
Australian fit
Pricing: USD-billed with possible PPP adjustment by country. No confirmed AUD checkout. Budget for currency conversion.
Data residency: The vendor is Singapore-based, and its privacy policy states data "may be transferred to the United States or other locations" — with no Australian data-residency option. This is the single biggest mark against it for Australian users. Don't put commercially sensitive content into it without accepting that the data leaves the country.
GST: Presentations.ai bills in USD; any 10% GST is added at the checkout, not shown as a native AUD invoice.
Support: Presentations.ai does not clearly publish its support channels or hours; from what we can see, help is email and help-centre based rather than live or phone support.
AU-aware outputs: Generates in the English you prompt it in — specify Australian spelling and AUD figures.
The offshore data path (Singapore vendor, data may move to the US, no AU residency) and unconfirmed AU support pull this down to a 2/5 on Australian Fit. It's usable here, but it raises the kind of data and availability questions our other picks answer more clearly — and unlike Canva, there's no local billing or onshore-data option to fall back on.
Alternatives
- Gamma — consider this first: a more polished standalone builder with a more usable free tier.
- Canva Magic Studio — consider this if you want an Australian-built tool with AUD billing and a free tier.
- Plus AI — consider this if you'd rather generate decks inside Google Slides or PowerPoint.
Bottom line
Presentations.ai is a credible AI deck builder that does the core job well: fast first drafts, clean PowerPoint export, and a free tier you can start without a credit card. For a price-sensitive Australian who wants to dip a toe in, it's a fair starting point.
But it doesn't beat the leaders on the things that matter most. The free credits run out quickly, the product is less proven than Gamma or Beautiful.ai, and — most importantly for an Australian audience — it doesn't tell you where your data lives. Until that data-residency story is published and clear, it's hard to recommend over Gamma for general use, or over Canva for buyers who want a local, AUD-billed option.
Worth a look if you're shopping on price. Not yet the default pick in this category.

Update history
- 9 Oct 2026 — New edition: the Gold tier was repriced. Was: Gold US$100 a month billed annually (US$1,200 a year) for 50,000 credits. Now, from
presentations.ai/pricingread in a browser on an Australian connection: Gold US$50 a month billed annually (US$600 a year) for 25,000 credits — half the price for half the credits; Starter US$0 (100 credits) and Pro US$20 a month annual (5,000 credits) unchanged. The page states US prices with a purchasing-power-parity caveat and shows no AUD;aud_native: false(now set) and the 15/25 score stand. Conversions re-cut ex-GST at US$1 = A$1.44 (ECB, 8 Oct 2026), which also retires the ~A$31 Pro figure that sat on the old 1.55 basis. Frequently asked questions
Is Presentations.ai available in Australia?
Yes. It's usable here, but it's a Singapore-based vendor with no Australian office, data centre, or clearly published support hours. Help appears to be email and help-centre based rather than live or phone.
Does Presentations.ai charge in AUD?
No confirmed AUD billing. It bills in USD, though it may apply purchasing-power-parity adjustments by country, so the AU checkout figure could differ. Pro is around A$29/month (annual) after conversion and Gold around A$72/month; GST is added at checkout, not as a native AUD invoice.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, but it's tight. The Starter tier is free with no credit card and lets you build real decks with PowerPoint export — but just 100 credits a year, which is a trial allowance, not a usable free tier.
Where is my data stored?
Offshore, and unclearly. The vendor is Singapore-based and its privacy policy says data "may be transferred to the United States or other locations," with no Australian data-residency option. Don't put commercially sensitive content into it without accepting that the data leaves the country.
Should I pick Presentations.ai or Gamma?
Consider Gamma first — it's more polished with a more usable free tier. Presentations.ai is worth a look if you're shopping on price, but it's not yet the default pick in this category.
