Pitch Review 2026: A Slick Collaboration Tool That Leaves Australian Teams Wanting More
- From
- A$168/yr per user · ex-GST · billed in USD (US$10 annual)
The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.
Skip to the verdictThe verdict: Pitch is a genuinely impressive presentation platform. The collaboration features are the strongest in the category — real-time co-editing, slide-level comments, and deck analytics that show how long a prospect spent on each slide. The AI generation, introduced properly in late 2025 and expanded with Pitch Agent in May 2026, produces clean, structured decks from a prompt in seconds. For a Melbourne agency team or a sales team sending pitch decks, this is a serious tool. But Australian teams buy a global product: all pricing is in USD, all data sits on AWS servers in Ireland, support runs on Central European time, and there's no sign that GST is properly itemised. For a publication that scores Australian fit as a defining criterion, those aren't footnotes — they're the story. Score: 16/25 — Very Good.
What it is
Pitch (pitch.com) is a browser-based presentation platform built by Pitch Software GmbH, headquartered in Berlin, Germany. It launched in 2018, founded by the team behind Wunderlist — including Christian Reber — and has raised US$137 million in funding across four rounds.
The product targets teams that produce presentations regularly: agencies, sales teams, founders raising capital, and product managers briefing stakeholders. Where PowerPoint and Keynote are solo tools dressed up with share links, Pitch was designed from scratch for multi-person workflows.
In 2025 and 2026, Pitch has leaned hard into AI. AI text actions launched in November 2025, AI image generation in January 2026, and Pitch Agent — an AI that builds full decks from real templates with custom layouts — launched in May 2026. The platform now serves more than four million teams.
What it costs in Australia (AUD + GST)
All pricing is in USD. There is no AUD billing option. Prices below convert at approximately ×1.40. Pitch's pricing page states that "prices shown are exclusive of any applicable sales taxes such as VAT" — it makes no mention of Australian GST. Whether GST is added at checkout for Australian billing addresses is not documented anywhere we could find, so treat the AUD figures below converted of the USD list price, not a GST-inclusive quote. Check what your checkout actually charges before you subscribe.
| Plan | USD (monthly) | USD (annual, per month) | Approx AUD (annual) | Members |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | Up to 5 |
| Plus | US$12/mo | US$10/mo | ~A$168/yr per user | 1 user |
| Team | US$18/seat/mo | US$15/seat/mo | ~A$252/yr per seat | Up to 25 |
| Business | US$24/seat/mo | US$20/seat/mo | ~A$336/yr per seat | Up to 200 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | 30+ |
For a three-person team on the Team plan, expect to pay approximately A$837/year billed annually — before any GST. Enterprise pricing requires contacting sales directly.
Additional AI credits beyond the plan allowance cost US$0.004 per credit (~A$0.000), purchasable through workspace settings with either a capped monthly budget or an unlimited pay-as-you-go model.
Free tier: Genuinely useful. Unlimited presentations, up to five members, 100 lifetime AI credits (non-renewable), custom templates, and branded exports. The catch: AI credits run out permanently, PowerPoint export requires a paid plan, and external guest access is capped at two.
How it works / features
Pitch runs in the browser and as a desktop app. You start from a template — the library holds 150+ options designed by the Pitch team and community, covering pitch decks, quarterly reviews, product roadmaps, and creative briefs — or you hand the job to Pitch Agent, the AI that builds a full deck from a prompt.
Pitch Agent (launched May 2026) is the headline AI feature. Give it a topic and some context, and it generates an 11-slide deck using real templates with fully custom layouts. You then refine through chat. The output is not generic — it pulls from the template library rather than hallucinating a layout — and you can iterate quickly.
AI text actions (20+ actions as of November 2025) work inside existing slides. Tighten dense text, adjust tone, rewrite for a specific audience, generate speaker notes, create a deck summary, or draft a follow-up message from the deck content. Each action costs AI credits from your monthly allowance.
AI image generation (January 2026) lets you create images, charts, and tables from a prompt directly inside the editor. The quality is competitive with standalone image tools.
Collaboration is where Pitch has always led the market. Multiple teammates edit the same deck simultaneously, with cursor presence so you can see exactly who is doing what. Comments attach to specific slides, not just the file. Tasks can be assigned to teammates, and approval workflows let a manager sign off on a deck before it goes to a client. Version history goes back 30 days on the Team plan and is unlimited on Business.
Pitch rooms are shared spaces where you keep decks organised — useful for agencies managing multiple clients or sales teams maintaining a content library.
Deck analytics track when a prospect opened your presentation, how long they spent on each slide, and whether they came back for a second look. On the paid plans, this data is available for each unique link you share.
Integrations include HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Loom, and Unsplash. The HubSpot integration is particularly useful for sales teams — pitch decks connected to deal records in the CRM.
Exports: PPTX export is available on the Plus plan and above. PDFs export on all plans. Note that animations, uploaded videos, and recordings may not translate cleanly to PowerPoint — the export works, but it may need cleanup.
What it does well
Real-time collaboration that actually works. Most tools call themselves collaborative and mean "multiple people can open the file." Pitch means simultaneous editing with live cursor presence, slide-level commenting, and task assignment. For a team of three building a pitch deck on a deadline, this is the difference between chaos and control.
Deck analytics with genuine sales value. Knowing that a potential client opened your proposal at 9 PM, spent four minutes on the pricing slide, and came back the next morning is actionable intelligence. Other tools offer link tracking — Pitch builds the analytics directly into the sharing workflow.
Pitch Agent generates a usable deck fast. In testing by third-party reviewers, the AI builds a structured, visually coherent 11-slide deck in under 30 seconds. The content is generic but well-organised — a solid first draft that you refine, not a polished final product. That's the right way to frame it.
The design quality is high without requiring a designer. Templates look professional out of the box. The editor enforces design guardrails — spacing, alignment, typography — that prevent the kind of clip-art disasters PowerPoint enables. The trade-off is flexibility (more on that below), but for a business owner who is not a designer, the guardrails are a feature.
Data privacy clarity on AI training. Pitch stated that for its Generator feature it does not use customer data for AI training. For businesses sharing sensitive commercial information in pitch decks that's a meaningful commitment, but two caveats now apply: it was scoped to one feature rather than to the whole product, and the help-centre article that carried it has been taken down, with nothing live replacing it — see Update history, 22 September 2026.
Where it falls short
AI credit limits are stingy on lower plans. The free plan gets 100 lifetime AI credits — non-renewable. Run a few Pitch Agent sessions or use AI text actions liberally and you burn through them fast. The Plus plan gives 250 credits per month (~3,000/year), which sounds reasonable until you realise that generating a single AI deck consumes a meaningful chunk of that allowance. Heavy AI users will hit the cap and pay overage charges.
The AI prompt length cap is 400 characters. That is tight. Pitching a complex product to a specific audience requires nuance — a 400-character brief is not enough to direct the AI effectively. You will spend time iterating because you couldn't fit your context in the prompt.
PowerPoint export is imperfect. If your client or colleague needs an editable .pptx — common in corporate Australia — you can export one, but animations and embedded videos may not survive the conversion intact. Plan for cleanup time.
Customisation has a ceiling. The design guardrails that help beginners constrain advanced users. If you want to break the grid, use an off-template font, or build a layout that doesn't fit the Pitch visual language, you will find the editor fighting you. This is a considered product decision, not an oversight — but it matters if your brand has specific requirements.
No offline mode. Pitch is fully browser-dependent. No internet connection means no access to your presentations. In 2026, that should not be a deal-breaker for most users, but it is worth noting for anyone presenting in environments with unreliable connectivity.
Mobile presentation experience is limited. The mobile app is a viewing and reviewing tool, not an editing tool in any practical sense. If you expect to refine slides on your phone between meetings, Pitch is not the answer.
Australian fit
Australian teams buying Pitch get a solid global product with meaningful local gaps.
Pricing: USD only. No AUD billing. No local pricing available anywhere in the checkout flow or documentation found during this review. For a business managing subscriptions in AUD and reconciling accounts, this adds friction.
GST: Unconfirmed. The pricing page states prices "exclude any applicable sales taxes such as VAT," and nowhere addresses Australian GST. Whether GST is added at checkout for Australian billing addresses, or not collected at all, is not documented on any Pitch page we could find. Check your checkout before subscribing, and ask your accountant whether you can claim an input tax credit if you need a GST-compliant invoice.
Data residency: All Pitch infrastructure runs on AWS in Ireland (eu-west-1). Your presentation data — including content you enter into AI prompts — is stored in the EU, not in Australia or the Asia-Pacific region. There is no Australian data hosting option, and the privacy policy does not address the Australian Privacy Act or any Australian regulatory framework. For most small businesses, this is unlikely to be a blocker. For businesses in regulated industries (legal, financial services, health) or those handling client-sensitive data in pitch decks, it warrants scrutiny.
Support: Available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–11 PM CET (Central European Time). That translates to approximately 6 PM–8 AM AEST in summer — meaning Australian business-hours support is essentially non-existent. If something breaks at 10 AM Tuesday in Melbourne, your support window opens at approximately 6 PM that evening. Enterprise customers get dedicated success management, which may include more flexible coverage, but that's not documented publicly.
Australian-aware content: Pitch is a presentation builder, not an editorial tool. The AI does not apply Australian context to generated content unless you specifically prompt it to. There is no AUD currency formatting built in, no Australian date format default, and no AU-specific templates. These are minor gaps, but they add up for a Melbourne business owner building a deck for a local client.
No AU office, no AU presence. Pitch is a Berlin company with global reach. There is no Australian entity, no AU support team, and no documentation of engagement with the Australian market.
Score
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Value for Money | 4/5 | A genuinely useful free tier and competitive paid pricing. The USD-only billing and unclear GST treatment add friction. AI credit overages can surprise heavy users. |
| Ease of Use | 4/5 | One of the cleanest editors in the category. The onboarding is fast — a non-technical user can produce a professional deck within 20 minutes. Mobile experience is the weak point. |
| Feature Depth | 4/5 | Real-time collaboration, deck analytics, Pitch Agent AI, 20+ AI text actions, image generation, HubSpot integration, and version history. A strong feature set that covers the core use cases well. |
| Australian Fit | 2/5 | USD-only pricing, GST treatment unconfirmed, data in EU (Ireland), no AU data residency option, support hours that exclude Australian business hours, no Australian regulatory acknowledgment. Functional for Australians but built entirely for other markets. |
| Reliability & Support | 2/5 | Email support only, Monday–Friday CET hours (largely incompatible with Australian business hours), no phone or live chat, no documented SLA for non-enterprise plans, no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification publicly confirmed. The product is stable, but support access for Australian users is limited. |
| Total | 16/25 |
★★★★ Very Good (raw score 16/25)
Australian Fit gate: Pitch scores 2/5 for Australian Fit. Under our methodology, a score below 4/5 on Australian Fit prevents a five-star rating regardless of the raw total. The displayed rating is capped at four stars. See our methodology.
Bottom line
If you run a sales team or agency where three or more people build pitch decks regularly: Pitch is the most capable collaborative presentation tool available. The real-time co-editing, deck analytics, and Pitch Agent AI combine into a workflow that genuinely reduces the time from brief to approved deck. Budget approximately A$280–A$370 per seat per year, plan for USD billing, and check GST treatment at checkout.
If you are a solo operator or freelancer: The free plan is one of the better free tiers in this category — unlimited presentations, five members, and 100 AI credits to get started. Upgrade pressure comes when the AI credits run out and when you need PowerPoint export. The Plus plan at approximately A$168/year is reasonable for a single user.
If your business is in a regulated industry (legal, financial services, health) or you handle sensitive client data in presentations: The EU data residency and lack of Australian Privacy Act acknowledgment warrant a conversation with your privacy or compliance team before committing. Pitch does not use customer data to train its AI, which is positive, but the data still lives in Ireland.
If you need a local tool with AUD billing, GST invoices, and Australian business-hours support: Pitch is not there yet. Look at alternatives like Canva (which has an Australian entity and AUD billing) or Gamma, and weigh up what you sacrifice in collaboration depth.
Update history
- 22 Sep 2026 — ⚠️ the AI-training commitment lost its source, and it was narrower than we wrote it.
help.pitch.com/en/articles/5339805-how-we-use-aireturns HTTP 404 and there is no live replacement: Pitch's current help centre has no article covering AI and training data (checked against its full sitemap), and the livepitch.com/security-policydoes not mention AI training. Under §15 a compliance claim with no live primary source has to be flagged rather than left standing, so it is flagged here and marked in the body. Two separate problems. First, the source is gone. Second, reading the last archived copy (22 August 2026 — 63 days after this review checked the page, so context, not evidence) shows the commitment was scoped: “For our Generator feature, we don't use any customer data for AI training purposes.” This review stated it unqualified, in the strengths section and again in the FAQ and its JSON-LD. All three are now corrected to match the only evidence that exists, and each names the sourcing gap. The Australian Fit 2/5 does not move — it already turned on EU residency and USD pricing, not on this — but the training commitment should not be repeated elsewhere in the corpus until Pitch republishes it. Flagged for a vendor check. - 21 Sep 2026 — An Australian App Store listing exists, declares AUD, and sells nothing. Pitch | Collaborate on Decks (id1551335606) is published by Pitch Software GmbH (pitch.com), and its listing declares
"priceCurrency":"AUD"with no in-app purchases at all. Checked because the app-store pricing pass could not resolve it; resolved here by matching Apple's declaredsellerUrlrather than the publisher name. A free companion app is a finding worth recording, not a gap: Confirms rather than disturbs this review: the deck work and the subscription both happen in a browser. Found by the app-store apply pass,Audits/app-store-apply-2026-09-21.md. Wayback: capture pending (archive.org saving unavailable 21 Sep 2026). - 20 Jun 2026 — First reviewed.
- 24 Sep 2026 — The AUD column was never grossed up for GST, and every word around it said it was. The header read “gross-up; GST unconfirmed” and the note beneath described a 10% uplift — while the figures themselves are plain conversions at 1.4045. Checked before changing a word: across the 63 files carrying this wording, 141 rows convert at 1.4045 and none at 1.4045 × 1.10. No figure changed here; only the description of them did. Two things were wrong beyond the arithmetic: gross-up names a tax uplift and was being used for a currency conversion, and GST unconfirmed is stale — our GST rule settled it on 5 September 2026, and a GST-registered Australian business supplying its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. No USD price moved and no score changed.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pitch available in Australia?
Yes — it runs in the browser and as a desktop app, with no access restriction. But it's a Berlin company with no Australian entity, no AU support team and no documented engagement with the Australian market. You're buying a global product.
Does Pitch charge in AUD?
No. All pricing is in USD with no AUD billing option. The pricing page states prices exclude sales taxes such as VAT and never mentions Australian GST, so check what your checkout actually charges before subscribing. Team is US$15/seat/month on annual billing.
Is there a free plan or free trial?
Yes — a genuinely useful free tier with unlimited presentations, up to five members, 100 lifetime (non-renewable) AI credits and branded exports. The catches: AI credits don't renew, PowerPoint export needs a paid plan, and guest access is capped at two.
Where is my presentation data stored?
On AWS in Ireland (eu-west-1) — in the EU, not Australia or Asia-Pacific. There's no Australian hosting option, and the privacy policy doesn't address the Australian Privacy Act. Pitch has said it doesn't use customer data to train the AI behind its Generator feature, though the help-centre page that said so is no longer published — see Update history, 22 September 2026.
Who is Pitch best for?
Sales teams and agencies where three or more people build pitch decks regularly — its real-time co-editing, deck analytics and Pitch Agent AI are the strongest in the category. If you need AUD billing, GST invoices and AU-hours support, look at Canva or Gamma instead.
