Pipedrive vs HubSpot Breeze for Australian businesses — which CRM AI wins in 2026
Our pick: Pipedrive. The verdict below says who should buy the other.
Editor's note: Every pricing, feature and Australian-fit claim below is carried from our full reviews of Pipedrive (21/25) and HubSpot Breeze (19/25), each sourced directly from the vendor's pricing, security and company pages. Pipedrive's figures are its own AUD prices — re-read on the vendor page from an Australian IP on 21 September 2026. HubSpot's are USD converted at AUD ≈ 1.40 for context, with GST handled at checkout. We did not re-score either tool for this piece — the scores are the ones in the underlying reviews.
Correction, 21 September 2026: this comparison previously said both vendors price in USD and listed Pipedrive at US$14–US$79 per seat. Pipedrive bills Australians in native AUD. Its score moves 20/25 → 21/25 and its Australian Fit 4/5 → 5/5. The winner does not change: Pipedrive was already the pick and is still cheaper than HubSpot at every comparable tier. SeeAudits/aud-native-recheck-2026-09-21.md.
If you run a small or mid-sized Australian business and you want AI inside your CRM, these two are on most shortlists. Pipedrive is the pipeline-first sales tool your reps will actually keep up to date. HubSpot Breeze is the AI layer baked into HubSpot's much larger suite. Both are US vendors that, unusually, now let you keep your data onshore in Sydney. Both bill in US dollars with GST added on top.
They are not the same product, and they don't suit the same buyer. Pipedrive is a deep, narrow tool that does one thing — close deals — better than the suites it competes with. Breeze is a broad layer that's only worth it if you're buying (or already run) the whole HubSpot platform underneath. The right answer depends entirely on which of those you are.
Here's the honest head-to-head.

What both tools do
At the core, both are doing the same job: tracking your leads, deals and customers so nothing slips, and putting AI to work on top of that data.
Both give you contact and deal management, email integration, automation, reporting and a mobile app. Both put a conversational AI helper one click away that reads your own CRM data rather than the open web — so you can summarise a long deal thread or draft a follow-up without copying customer information into a separate chatbot. Both, critically for Australians, can host your data onshore: Pipedrive runs Asia-Pacific accounts primarily in an AU (Sydney) AWS region, and HubSpot opened a Sydney data centre in February 2024 and lets paid customers migrate to it free of charge.
They no longer share the same catch on money. Pipedrive publishes native AUD prices to Australian visitors, so its number doesn't move with the exchange rate. HubSpot still lists in US dollars, with GST disclosed before purchase — so its number does.
That's where the overlap ends. Pipedrive's AI is a focused sales aid. Breeze is a sprawling layer of an assistant, four autonomous agents, a data-enrichment engine and 100-plus embedded features — but it only matters if you've bought into the HubSpot platform it lives inside.
Pricing in Australia — the real numbers
Pipedrive's figures are its own AUD prices. HubSpot's are USD, so its all-in AUD cost depends on your bank's FX rate plus GST — converted here at the editorial standard rate for context.

|---|---|---|
| Free | No — 14-day trial | Yes — free CRM, Breeze Assistant + 100+ AI features |

| AI usage cost | Included in the plan | Agents bill per result via HubSpot Credits (US$10 / 1,000) |
Pipedrive figures are per seat per month on annual billing, read on pipedrive.com/en/pricing in a browser from an Australian IP on 21 September 2026 — they are the vendor's own AUD prices, not conversions. Monthly billing is AU$34 / AU$69 / AU$109 / AU$139. The June 2026 note in this piece that "Pipedrive's pricing page now blocks automated checks" was the tell we missed: the page had not gone quiet, it had gone Australian, and an automated fetch could not see it. HubSpot Sales Hub figures (Starter US$20, Professional US$100 / US$90 annual, Enterprise US$150) were re-checked against HubSpot's published pricing on 18 June 2026 and are unchanged; those AUD conversions are our own approximations at AUD ≈ 1.40 and are indicative only, with GST added.
HubSpot's agents add a second cost layer on top of the plan. They bill per result in HubSpot Credits (US$10 per 1,000, about US$0.010 each): the Customer Agent costs US$0.50 per resolved conversation (≈ A$0.70), the Prospecting Agent US$1.00 per qualified lead (≈ A$1.40), and the Data Agent US$0.10 per answer (≈ A$0.14). Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance — 500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise — and you buy more beyond that. HubSpot moved the Customer and Prospecting agents to this outcome-based model on 14 April 2026, with a 28-day free trial on each.
The pricing takeaway: at the entry point, the gap is stark. HubSpot wins on entry cost — its free CRM ships Breeze Assistant plus 100-plus embedded AI features at no cost, while Pipedrive has no free tier at all, only a 14-day trial. But step up to the tier where each tool does real work and Pipedrive is far cheaper: Pipedrive Growth at US$39 includes the AI email tools and automations, whereas HubSpot's autonomous agents need Sales Hub Professional (US$100/seat/mo) plus per-result credits on top. For a lean team that wants useful AI without a platform commitment, Pipedrive's all-in cost is lower and far more predictable.
Where Pipedrive wins
- The pipeline is the best in the category. Drag-and-drop deal management that reps use rather than avoid. Simplicity is the feature, and it's the whole reason teams pick Pipedrive over heavier suites their staff quietly refuse to open.
- Gentlest learning curve in the category. A non-technical sales rep is productive in an afternoon. Breeze is only "instant" if you already live in HubSpot — and HubSpot itself has a learning curve.
- AI included, not metered. The AI Sales Assistant ships on every plan and the AI email writer arrives at Growth, all inside the plan price. There's no separate per-result invoice to forecast.
- Predictable cost. One AUD per-seat figure. No exchange-rate drift at renewal, no credit packs, no per-resolution metering, no platform-wide contact-tier maths.
- It does one job well. If your need is "a sales CRM my team will actually keep up to date," Pipedrive is built precisely for that and nothing else.
Pipedrive scores 21/25 to Breeze's 19/25, and its one-mark edge on Value for Money (4/5 vs Breeze's 3/5) is exactly this story: the cost is lower, quoted in your own currency, and you can predict it.
Where HubSpot Breeze wins
- A genuinely free tier. The free HubSpot CRM includes Breeze Assistant and 100-plus embedded AI features — real drafting and summarising value at no cost. Pipedrive gives you 14 days, then a bill.
- Autonomous agents that do the work, not just assist. The Customer Agent can resolve inbound support tickets on its own; the Prospecting Agent watches for buying signals and drafts outreach; the Data Agent answers questions by reading your CRM. This is genuine leverage Pipedrive's lighter AI doesn't attempt.
- Depth and breadth. Copilot, four agents, Breeze Intelligence enrichment and 100-plus embedded features span marketing, sales, service and content — far wider coverage than Pipedrive's sales focus.
- An established Australian legal entity. You contract with HubSpot Australia Pty Ltd under New South Wales law with GST disclosed before purchase; HubSpot is a large, NYSE-listed, SOC 2 Type II-audited vendor with an APAC presence. Pipedrive has no AU office and supports via 24/7 English chat only.
- Transparent about its models and your data. HubSpot states it does not train its models on your customer data and publishes model cards naming the providers behind each feature.
The honest condition on all of this: Breeze is only as good as the data in your HubSpot, and the agents that do the heavy lifting sit behind a Professional or Enterprise plan plus credits. You're buying the platform first and the AI second.
Australian fit
This is where The AI Directory earns its keep. They were level at 4/5 until 21 September 2026, when Pipedrive's native AUD pricing was confirmed and it moved to 5/5.
Pipedrive's Australian story is hosting and support. Asia-Pacific accounts run primarily in an AU (Sydney) AWS region — a real answer to "where does our data live?" — and live chat is English, 24/7, which lines up with Australian hours far better than a US-only desk. It also prices in native Australian dollars — AU$19 to AU$109 per seat per month. The marks against it: no AU office or local phone line, a pricing page silent on Australian GST, and no ironclad data-residency guarantee, since US sub-processors are used and account location should be confirmed with support in writing for strict requirements. It holds SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701, GDPR and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
HubSpot's Australian story is corporate and onshore. The Sydney data centre (opened February 2024) lets you keep CRM data in Australia, with free migration for paid customers; you contract with a local entity, HubSpot Australia Pty Ltd, under NSW law with GST disclosed before purchase; and HubSpot states it does not train models on your data. The marks against it: USD list pricing rather than a clean AUD experience — which now puts it a step behind Pipedrive on the money — and no IRAP assessment of its own platform — which matters if you sell to Australian government. It holds SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3, with AWS infrastructure carrying ISO 27001.
What this means in practice: for onshore data residency, both clear the bar — a rarity in this category, and the reason both score 4/5. If you specifically sell to Australian government, note that neither publishes an IRAP assessment; that's a question to put to each vendor directly. For everyone else, the data-residency question is close to a draw, and the decision comes back to the product, the price and the free tier.
Who should pick what
The right answer depends on the work, not the brand.
If you're a small sales team that wants a CRM your reps will actually use — pick Pipedrive, on the Growth plan. The pipeline is the best in the category, the learning curve is the gentlest, the AI email tools and automations live at Growth, and the cost is lower and more predictable than HubSpot's plan-plus-credits stack. This is the central use case, and Pipedrive is built for it.
If you want useful AI at zero cost to start — pick HubSpot Breeze. The free HubSpot CRM ships the Breeze Assistant and 100-plus embedded AI features for nothing, so a cost-conscious business gets real drafting and summarising value before paying a cent. Pipedrive has no free tier.
If you already run HubSpot — pick HubSpot Breeze, without hesitation. It's the AI you should turn on first, it acts on data you've already got, and the free Assistant is included. Switching to Pipedrive would mean leaving a platform you've already invested in.
If you want autonomous AI agents to resolve support tickets or prospect for you — pick HubSpot Breeze. The Customer and Prospecting agents do work Pipedrive's lighter AI doesn't attempt. Budget for Sales Hub Professional plus per-result credits, and treat the agents as a measured add-on, not a flat fee.
If you want one predictable invoice and no metering — pick Pipedrive. One AUD per-seat figure, with AI included. No credit packs, no per-resolution maths to forecast, no FX drift.
If onshore Australian data residency is the deciding factor — it's close to a draw on residency alone; both host in Sydney, though Pipedrive now leads 5/5 to 4/5 on Australian Fit overall on the strength of its AUD pricing. Decide on product fit and price instead. If you sell to Australian government and need an IRAP assessment, neither publishes one — raise it with each vendor before you commit.
Verdict
This isn't a tie. Pipedrive scores 21/25 — five stars — and HubSpot Breeze 19/25, and the two-mark gap is honest: Pipedrive is cheaper and more predictable for the central job this category serves — a sales CRM a small Australian team will actually keep up to date. For that buyer, Pipedrive on the Growth plan is the better tool and the better value in 2026. The pipeline is the best in the category, the learning curve is the gentlest, the AI is included rather than metered, and — unusually for a global CRM — your data can live in Sydney and your invoice arrives in Australian dollars.
But the moment your situation changes, so does the answer. If you're already on HubSpot, want a genuinely free starting point, or need autonomous agents that resolve tickets and prospect on their own, HubSpot Breeze wins — it's broader, its free tier is real, and it does work Pipedrive's lighter AI doesn't attempt. Just go in knowing you're buying the HubSpot platform first and the AI second, and that the powerful agents sit behind a paid Hub plus per-result credits.
Pick Pipedrive for a focused, predictable sales CRM. Pick HubSpot Breeze if you want free AI to start, already run HubSpot, or need agents that act on their own. Both keep your data onshore — and on that score, the Australian question that usually decides these things, neither lets you down.
This comparison covers software for general business use. It isn't legal, financial, HR or tax advice. If you're using either tool in a regulated context — handling client money, personal or health information, employment decisions, or anything touching professional-conduct rules — confirm data-handling, residency and compliance terms with the vendor in writing, and check with a qualified professional before you rely on it. For Australian government sales, note that neither vendor publishes an IRAP assessment.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better for Australian businesses, Pipedrive or HubSpot Breeze?
Pipedrive for the central job — a sales CRM your reps will actually keep up to date. It scores 21/25 to Breeze's 19/25, is cheaper and more predictable on the Growth plan, and bills in Australian dollars. Pick HubSpot Breeze if you already run HubSpot, want free AI to start, or need autonomous agents.
Which is cheaper in AUD?
It depends on the tier. HubSpot wins on entry — its free CRM ships Breeze Assistant and 100+ AI features at no cost, while Pipedrive has only a 14-day trial. But at the working tier Pipedrive is far cheaper: Growth at AU$49/seat includes the AI, versus HubSpot's US$100/seat Professional (≈ A$140) plus per-result credits. Pipedrive bills in AUD; HubSpot bills in USD.
Is there a free plan?
Only HubSpot. Its free CRM includes Breeze Assistant and 100+ embedded AI features. Pipedrive has no free tier — just a 14-day trial, then a bill. If free AI to start matters most, HubSpot Breeze is the pick.
Do both store data in Australia?
Yes — unusually for US CRMs, both host onshore in Sydney. Pipedrive runs Asia-Pacific accounts primarily in an AU (Sydney) AWS region; HubSpot opened a Sydney data centre in February 2024 with free migration for paid customers. On residency it's close to a draw, though Pipedrive leads 5/5 to 4/5 on Australian Fit overall because it also prices in AUD.
Are they suitable for Australian government sales?
Neither publishes an IRAP assessment of its own platform, so if you sell to Australian government, raise that with each vendor directly before committing. For regulated contexts generally, confirm data-handling and residency terms in writing — this comparison is general information, not legal or compliance advice.
