HeadshotPro Review: AI Corporate Headshots for Australian Professionals
- From
- A$41/mo · ex-GST · billed in USD (US$29)
The gate: Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.
Skip to the verdictVerdict (TL;DR): HeadshotPro produces convincing corporate headshots from selfies at a price point well below a studio photographer. The privacy controls are more transparent than most competitors — uploaded photos are deleted within 7 days, and outputs within 30 days. The catch for Australians: it is a Netherlands company whose data sits on US cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS). That's offshore either way. Worth considering for individuals and small teams who want a fast, affordable headshot refresh.

What HeadshotPro is
HeadshotPro is an AI headshot generator founded and headquartered in the Netherlands. It is one of the better-known tools in this category, claiming to have generated over 18 million headshots for more than 197,000 customers, with a 4.8-star Trustpilot rating.
The service targets professionals who want LinkedIn-ready, corporate-quality headshots without booking a studio. The model is straightforward: upload selfies, pick from a library of backdrops and outfit styles, receive a gallery of AI-generated headshots. Unlike subscription AI tools, HeadshotPro charges a one-time fee per session.
HeadshotPro has no Australian entity. Data is stored on Google Cloud Storage (us-east-1) and Render (AWS). European GDPR law applies because of the Netherlands base — which provides some privacy framework, but it is not the same as Australian Privacy Act protection.
What it costs in Australia
HeadshotPro uses one-time session pricing — no ongoing subscription.
| Plan | USD price | AUD approx (×1.40) | Headshots | Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | US$29 | ~A$41 | 30 | ~2 hours |
| Professional | US$39 | ~A$55 | 50 | ~30 min |
| Executive | US$59 | ~A$83 | 70 | ~30 min |
AUD conversions at USD→AUD 1.4045 (ECB reference rate, 18 September 2026). Our AUD figures are conversions shown ex-GST: a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; an unregistered buyer should allow ~10% on top.
Team discounts of up to 60% are available for bulk orders. All plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee and full commercial ownership of generated photos.
How it works in practice
The process is minimal and well-designed:
- Upload 15+ selfies. HeadshotPro recommends a variety of clear, well-lit shots from different angles. More photos give the model more to work with. Photos are used to train a personal model of your face.
- Choose backdrops and outfits. The library includes over 300 backgrounds and 300 outfit styles — from corporate grey to creative and casual. You select these before processing.
- Wait 10–30 minutes. Delivery time is fast — the Professional and Executive plans promise results in around 30 minutes.
- Download your picks. You receive a gallery and choose which headshots to keep. There is no in-app editing tool — what you see is what you get.
The output quality is strong. Reviews consistently describe results as sharp, well-lit, and realistic. Minor distortions (blurry eyes, uneven features) appear in some images within a batch — this is common across all AI headshot services — but with 30–70 headshots per session, you have enough to find several strong options.
The absence of a post-generation editing tool is a notable gap: if a particular headshot is almost right but not quite, you cannot refine it within the platform.
What it does well
Competitive pricing. ~A$45 for 30 professional headshots is a fraction of a studio photography session, which can run A$200–600 in most Australian cities.
Fast turnaround. 30 minutes on the mid-tier and above. Useful if you need a headshot before a conference or a deadline.
Transparent data deletion. Uploaded photos deleted after 7 days. Generated photos deleted after 30 days. Manual deletion available immediately. This is more explicit than most competitors and makes the privacy conversation easier to have.
14-day money-back guarantee. You can get a refund if the results are poor — no questions asked, per company policy. Mitigates the risk of paying before you see results.
Full commercial ownership. You own the outputs. HeadshotPro does not claim a licence over generated photos [verify current terms at headshotpro.com/legal/terms-and-conditions].
Established company with a real track record. 197,000+ customers, 18+ million headshots generated, and a 4.8 Trustpilot score all suggest a functioning, reliable service.
What it doesn't do well
No editing tools. You cannot adjust backgrounds, swap outfits, or refine a specific headshot inside the platform. Competitors like Aragon AI include an editing suite.
US cloud infrastructure despite European HQ. Data is stored in Google Cloud and AWS in the US (us-east-1). GDPR compliance is meaningful but does not equate to Australian Privacy Act compliance.
No Australian entity or local support. Support is email-only. Time zones mean a query sent during Australian business hours may wait until Dutch business hours for a response.
Quality variance within batches. Eye distortion and feature inconsistencies appear in a minority of outputs — not unique to HeadshotPro, but buyers should expect this.
No free tier or preview. You commit money before seeing whether the results will work for your face. The money-back guarantee helps but doesn't fully replace the ability to preview.
Australian fit: biometric data and the Privacy Act
When you upload photos of your face to HeadshotPro, you are submitting biometric data — a category of sensitive information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988. This matters in ways the product's marketing does not highlight.
The specifics for Australians:
- HeadshotPro is a Netherlands company. It operates under GDPR. Australia's Privacy Act can apply to overseas operators who "carry on a business" in Australia and collect personal information from Australians, but this is a legal question that has not been tested for HeadshotPro specifically.
- Uploaded photos sit on US-based Google Cloud and AWS servers (us-east-1) until deletion at 7 days. This is offshore data processing, full stop.
- HeadshotPro's published data retention policy is one of the clearest in the category: 7-day deletion for uploads, 30-day deletion for outputs, manual deletion available immediately. This reduces risk but does not eliminate it — backup copies and incident-response retention may differ.
- There is a formal Data Processing Agreement available, which is a meaningful signal for enterprise buyers.
- Under GDPR (which applies because of the Netherlands HQ), you have right-to-erasure, data-portability, and access rights. Australian-specific rights under the Privacy Act are less clearly established.
Who owns the outputs? HeadshotPro explicitly grants full commercial ownership of generated headshots to the buyer. The company does not claim any rights over your images.
The key question for Australian HR teams: If you are uploading employee headshots for a team order, you are collecting and transferring employees' biometric data to an overseas processor. That requires a proper privacy assessment and, almost certainly, explicit employee consent. Take legal advice before doing this at scale.
Alternatives
- Aragon AI — US company, SOC 2 Type II, larger output volume, editing tools included, slightly higher prices. More enterprise tooling but also more opaque on AU privacy.
- Canva Magic Studio — Does not do personalised headshots from face photos, but useful for general image editing and visual content.
- Adobe Firefly — Also not a personalised headshot tool; different use case.
Bottom line
HeadshotPro is a well-priced, reliable AI headshot generator that does what it promises: turns selfies into corporate-quality photos. The 7-day photo deletion policy is the best in the category and makes the privacy conversation more manageable. At ~A$45–A$100 per session with a money-back guarantee, it is a reasonable option for individual Australian professionals who need a quick headshot refresh.
The weaknesses are real: no editing tools, US-based data storage, and no Australian entity. For team and enterprise use, take legal advice on consent and data handling before proceeding.
Score: 15/25 — Good.

Update history
- 9 Oct 2026 — Re-checked for the AUD-claim queue (#458), headshotpro.com/pricing read on an Australian connection: Basic US$29, Professional US$39 and Executive US$59 one-time stand, bare
$with no AUD, so the table holds andaud_native: falsestands. New and recorded here: a published Team track "from US$19.50" a person for 5 to 1,000 people, with volume discounts (for example US$25.35 a shoot at 100 credits), an admin dashboard, SSO and 30-day automatic deletion. Capture:Dossiers/captures/headshotpro-pricing-2026-10-09.txt. - 21 Sep 2026 — The grossed-up AUD column removed from the pricing table. The table carried a second Australian column adding 10% GST to every converted figure, so each plan had two Australian prices and the higher one asserted a tax most of our readers do not pay: under the ATO rule our GST treatment rests on, a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service. Nothing was re-cut — the ex-GST column is unchanged and is the price. Removed, and kept visible here per our price-history rule: the column headed "AUD if GST charged (+10%)" (Basic ~A$45; Professional ~A$60; Executive ~A$91). The GST position is now stated in words once, beneath the table, in place of the old “Australian consumers may be liable for 10% GST” note — which was true of consumers and wrong for the GST-registered businesses this publication is written for. No USD price moved and no score changed.
