Microsoft extends the Copilot Business discount to 30 June — and tells you prices change after

On 17 March Microsoft published an "Act Now" post confirming the Microsoft 365 Copilot Business bundle promotion has been extended from 31 March to 30 June 2026 — and detailing USD bundle pricing changes that take effect from 1 July.

What changed

Two things. The deadline moved: businesses that thought they had a fortnight to decide now have until the end of June to lock in current bundle pricing. And the after-promo picture firmed up: Microsoft has put the new USD pricing in writing rather than leaving it vague. Promotional deadlines that vendors extend once tend to be soft. Promotional deadlines paired with published next-quarter pricing tend to be real.

What it means for Australians

For Australian small and mid-sized businesses, the practical read is simple: the question of whether to put Copilot in the budget now has a hard date — and it's the end of the financial year. That's convenient timing. EOFY is when most Australian businesses review software spend anyway, and locking a lower bundle price before 30 June lands the decision squarely in this year's planning cycle.

The honest advice hasn't changed: don't buy Copilot because a discount is expiring — buy it if your team genuinely lives in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and trial it on a handful of seats first. But if you've already trialled it and the decision was "yes, eventually," the difference between eventually and June is now measurable in dollars. Note the published changes are in USD; what reaches your Australian invoice depends on Microsoft's local pricing at renewal — confirm the AUD figure with your reseller before you commit.

What we're watching

The AUD translation of the 1 July changes when Microsoft publishes local pricing, and whether the model-choice rollout announced earlier this month reaches Australian tenants before the promo window closes — that combination would make the June decision easier.
