Anyword vs Jasper (2026): Performance Scoring or Brand-Voice Scale?

By Adam · 28 Jun 2026 · 7 min read
Head-to-head verdict

Our pick: Jasper. The verdict below says who should buy the other.

Two AI writers, two different jobs. Anyword scores your copy for predicted conversion before you publish — it's built for the marketer who lives in the ad account. Jasper writes on-brand long-form at scale — it's built for the content team shipping a blog, an email set and a week of social in one sitting.

They get lumped together because both are "marketing AI" priced in USD. But buying one over the other is really a question about you: are you data-driven or brand-driven? Do you optimise headlines for clicks, or produce volume that sounds like your business? Get that wrong and you'll pay a US$99-a-month premium for a feature you never touch — or buy a content engine when what you needed was a conversion oracle.

Here's the honest read for an Australian buyer.

The scores, settled

We've reviewed both tools in full. The numbers below are our existing verdicts — not re-scored for this piece.

Anyword Jasper
Our score 15/25 — ⭐⭐⭐ Good 16/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good
Built for Performance marketers optimising paid copy Content teams producing on-brand volume
The one trick Predicted performance score on every variation Brand Voice + Knowledge + Agents in one workspace
Verdict in a line Worth a trial for an ad team; overkill for a solo operator Earns its keep for a marketing team; pricey for a sole trader

Jasper edges it on raw score, but a single point doesn't decide this. The two tools barely compete for the same buyer. The real question is which job you're hiring for.

What it costs in Australia

Neither tool bills in AUD. Both charge a US company in US dollars, so you wear the exchange rate and any card fees, and you self-assess GST rather than receiving a tax invoice. AUD figures below use the Directory's standard ~1.40 rate; treat them as indicative.

Plan Anyword (USD) Anyword (≈AUD ex GST) Jasper (USD) Jasper (≈AUD ex GST)

Pricing sources: anyword.com/pricing and jasper.ai/pricing, both checked 28 June 2026 against the vendors' own pages. A same-day Wayback capture was rate-limited at time of writing; the closest archived snapshots are anyword.com/pricing at web.archive.org/web/20260528073902 and jasper.ai/pricing at web.archive.org/web/20260625155608, and the live figures match both. AUD conversions are ours at 1.40 and exclude GST, which Australian buyers self-assess on imported digital services.

Three things matter for an Australian budget.

First, Anyword's headline US$49 is a trap if scoring is why you're here. The Starter plan caps you at 50 performance predictions a month — and the prediction is the product. Hit that wall and you're on the US$99 Data-Driven tier, which is where Anyword actually breathes. So the honest Anyword price for a performance marketer is ≈A$139/mo, not A$69.

Second, Jasper's Pro plan is one seat. Want a second person? There's no cheap add-on — the page sends you to "talk to sales" about the custom-priced Business plan. For a small Australian team, the practical jump is from one seat to a sales call, with no published price in between.

Third, on a like-for-like single seat, Jasper Pro (≈A$97/mo) undercuts the Anyword plan you'd actually use (≈A$139/mo). But they're not selling the same thing, so price alone doesn't close it.

The feature fork

This is where the two tools stop overlapping.

Anyword Jasper
Core engine Predicted performance scoring (0–100) on every variation Routes to GPT, Claude or Gemini per task behind a brand layer
Best at Short-form paid copy — Facebook/Google ads, subject lines, headlines Long-form on-brand content — blogs, emails, social batches
Brand control Brand voice profiles + audience targeting Brand Voices (2 on Pro) + Knowledge assets (5 on Pro)
The standout Real-time score updates as you edit a line Agents that turn one brief into a full asset set
Volume tooling A/B testing, content intelligence (higher tiers) Jasper Grid for bulk content, AI App Builder (Business)
Underlying models LLM-agnostic (runs on top of ChatGPT, Gemini) Model-agnostic (GPT, Claude, Gemini, routed per task)

Anyword's edge is feedback. Most AI writers hand you three options and walk away. Anyword attaches a predicted score to each, then updates that score in real time as you rewrite a sentence. For a marketer used to publishing and waiting two weeks for A/B results, that instant signal changes how you choose copy — you stop picking the line you like and start picking the line the data backs.

Jasper's edge is repeatability at scale. Set up a Brand Voice once, load Knowledge about your products, then brief an Agent and it drafts a 500-word post, a handful of ad variations or a week of captions in minutes — already in your voice. The Canvas workspace lets a team see the blog, the emails and the captions together instead of juggling separate chats. For a content function producing the same asset types over and over, that's the real value.

Neither does the other's job well. Anyword is thin for long-form blogging and overkill for general writing. Jasper has no predicted-performance score — it writes well, but it won't tell you which headline converts.

Australian fit

Both tools land as competent global products rather than Australian-built ones, and they share the same weak spots.

Data residency. Neither offers an Australian hosting region. Anyword runs on AWS with no stated AU region; Jasper hosts on Google Cloud in US-East. For general marketing that's fine. For any organisation bound by data-sovereignty rules — government, health, regulated finance — it's a blocker for both. Neither advertises IRAP, the benchmark for Australian government work.

Compliance. Anyword claims SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA — a notably strong posture. Jasper holds SOC 2 (Type II), GDPR, PCI and CCPA, but doesn't advertise ISO 27001. Both state plainly that your data and outputs are never used to train the underlying models — the right answer for a team feeding either tool unreleased campaigns.

Billing and GST. Identical pain on both: USD only, no AUD price list, no GST line. You self-assess GST on the imported service and wear the FX every month. Quiet admin, but admin nonetheless.

Support. Both run US business hours with no Australian presence. Live help arrives overnight for us.

The Australian-specific catch for Anyword. Its whole edge — predicting performance — is trained on a largely US consumer-behaviour dataset. A headline that scores 92 for a US audience may not convert the same way to a Brisbane tradie or a Sydney finance buyer. Use the score to compare your own variations against each other, not as an oracle on the Australian market. Jasper has no equivalent trap, because it makes no performance prediction to begin with — it just writes.

Under our scoring framework, the Australian Fit criterion is decisive: a tool that doesn't serve Australians well can't wear five stars or be named a category Top Pick, regardless of its raw total. Neither tool clears that bar here. Both sit at three to four stars precisely because the local fit is middling — USD billing, US hosting, no AU support. This comparison names a better buy for each type of Australian, not a five-star winner.

Who buys which

Buy Anyword if you're a performance marketer. You run paid campaigns, you live in the ad account, and your day is spent optimising short copy where a wording change moves conversion. The predicted score and real-time editing feedback impose a discipline most AI writers can't — you choose copy on data, not gut. Budget for the US$99 Data-Driven tier (≈A$139/mo), not the Starter trap, and treat the scores as a strong signal to test against your own variations, not Australian gospel.

Buy Jasper if you're a content team. You produce volume — blogs, emails, landing pages, social — and you need it on-brand without re-briefing the tone every time. Brand Voice, Knowledge and Agents turn that repetitive work into a few minutes of output in your voice. At ≈A$83/mo annual for a single seat it's fair value for a marketer producing the same assets weekly. Just go in knowing the second seat means a sales call.

Don't buy either if you're a solo operator who just wants to draft. A few blog posts, some website copy, the odd newsletter? You're paying a marketing-platform premium for tooling you won't use. A ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription does most of that job for less, on terms slightly friendlier to Australians.

The verdict

For the typical Australian small-business buyer — one or two people, producing marketing content, not running a high-spend paid-ads operation — Jasper is the better buy. It's cheaper per seat on the plan you'd actually use, it earns the higher score (16/25 to Anyword's 15/25), and its job — on-brand content at volume — is the job most Australian SMBs actually need doing. Anyword's performance scoring is the sharper, more distinctive trick, but it only pays off if you're spending real money on ads and can use the prediction every day. Most Australian SMBs aren't, and can't.

So: Jasper for the content team, Anyword for the performance marketer — and for the average Australian SMB caught between them, Jasper wins. Trial both for seven days before you commit. The free trials cost nothing but an afternoon, and on a USD subscription you'll want to be sure before the FX starts ticking.
