- Description: Saner.ai is a distraction-free notes and task app with an AI assistant called Skai, built explicitly for people with ADHD. The free plan is genuinely usable and the AI search is impressive. But the app is early-stage, US-based, and the AI depth is still developing.

> **Verdict (TL;DR):** Saner.ai is a focused, distraction-minimal notes and task app with an AI assistant (Skai) that can search your notes, recall past context, and help you break tasks down. It is built explicitly for people with ADHD and executive dysfunction, and for that audience it does several things better than Notion or Obsidian. The free plan is the most generous in this category. But this is a young product from a small team. Integration depth is limited, the AI is useful rather than transformative, and Australian users will find no local data residency and a server location that is not publicly specified. At USD $8/month (Starter), it earns a look — particularly on the free tier.

## What Saner.ai is

Saner.ai is an AI-powered personal knowledge and task management app built for people who struggle with note-taking apps that are too complex, too cluttered, or too demanding. Its stated focus is ADHD-friendly design: low visual noise, a single place for notes and tasks, and an AI assistant (named Skai) that can surface context you have already captured rather than making you remember where you put it.

The product was founded in 2023 by Anh Ngo, Giap Galvin Vo, and Quang Tran. The company is registered in Wilmington, Delaware (US), with development based in Vietnam. It is bootstrapped — no known external funding as of mid-2026.

The AI at the core of Saner.ai is an LLM-backed assistant that indexes your notes and tasks. You can ask Skai questions like "what did I capture about that project last week?" or "what are my top priorities today?" and it retrieves relevant notes with cited sources. You can also ask it to break a vague task into steps. It connects to Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and Google Calendar to pull context from outside the app.

This is genuinely useful for people who accumulate notes and then cannot find them. It is less useful as a scheduling or deep productivity system — Saner.ai does not manage your calendar, does not offer timeblocking, and has limited project management capabilities.

## What it costs in Australia

On saner.ai, Saner.ai is priced in USD with no AUD billing. *(Corrected 21 Sep 2026 — the iPhone app bills in Australian dollars at the same price. See below.)*

| Plan | USD | AUD (approx, ex-GST) |
| ------------------ | --------------------------- | -------------------- |
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Starter — annual | USD $8/month (\~$96/year) | \~AU$11.20/month |
| Starter — monthly | USD $12/month | \~AU$16.80/month |
| Standard — annual | USD $16/month (\~$192/year) | \~AU$22.40/month |
| Standard — monthly | USD $20/month | \~AU$28/month |

*AUD conversions at approx. 1 USD = 1.40 AUD as of September 2026\. Figures are ex-GST: a GST-registered business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers add \~10%.*

**In the app the same plans are priced in Australian dollars, at a wash.** The [Australian App Store listing](https://apps.apple.com/au/app/id6738684403?ref=theaidirectory.com.au) declares `"priceCurrency":"AUD"` with Saner.AI as seller of record, and sells **Starter at A$19.00/month or A$149.00/year** and **Standard at A$30.00/month or A$299.99/year**, GST included, on an Apple tax invoice. A$149.00 a year is about A$135.45 ex-GST against roughly A$134 on the web — within a dollar. So the app path costs you nothing extra and removes both the exchange-rate risk and the GST question. Read 21 September 2026.

The free plan includes 30 AI requests per month and up to 100 notes. It is enough to evaluate the app properly — you will know within a few weeks whether the AI retrieval genuinely suits your workflow.

The Starter plan gives you unlimited AI chats, unlimited notes, 100 GB of storage, 100 AI requests per day, and direct support from the founding team. Standard adds more AI capacity and advanced reasoning features.

At AU$11.20/month (Starter, annual, ex-GST), Saner.ai is among the cheapest AI-assisted notes apps in this category.

## How it works in practice

The interface is intentionally sparse. Notes live in a tree structure with folders. Each note supports rich text, tasks, and attachments. There are no kanban boards, no databases, no complex views. If Notion's flexibility has always overwhelmed you, Saner.ai's plainness is a feature, not a bug.

Capturing a note is fast. Capturing a task is equally fast. The two live in the same interface, which matters for ADHD users who do not want to switch between a notes app and a task manager.

Skai, the AI assistant, lives in a sidebar. You can ask it to search your notes, summarise recent captures, or help you think through a decision. When it retrieves relevant notes, it cites the source so you can jump to the original. This is the strongest AI feature in the product.

The integration with Google Calendar, Gmail, Slack, and Google Drive means Skai can surface context from outside Saner.ai — in theory. In practice, the depth of these integrations is limited and varies. Google Calendar integration shows your events; it does not turn them into plannable tasks with the sophistication of Sunsama or Reclaim. Gmail integration helps surface email context but Saner.ai is not an email-first tool.

The mobile app (iOS and Android) mirrors the desktop experience adequately. Quick capture from mobile is straightforward.

---

## What it does well

**The free plan is genuinely useful.** 100 notes and 30 AI requests per month is enough to run real workflows. Many competing apps (Notion AI, Mem, Reflect) require a paid plan before the AI is accessible.

**ADHD-specific design actually shows.** The interface does not punish you for capturing messy, disorganised thoughts. There is no setup overhead — you do not need to design a system before you start. The low visual noise reduces the friction that causes many ADHD users to abandon traditional notes apps.

**Skai's contextual search is impressive for the price.** Ask "what did I capture about the Jones proposal?" and Skai retrieves relevant notes across all your folders, citing the source. This is the primary reason to choose Saner.ai over a simpler notes app.

**Task and note integration in one place.** Not having to switch between a notes app and a to-do app is underrated. Saner.ai keeps them unified.

**AES-256 encryption and a no-training-on-your-data policy.** Saner.ai states clearly that it does not train on, share, or sell user data. Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

---

## What it doesn't do well

**The AI depth is still developing.** Skai can search and summarise. It cannot write long-form content from your notes, generate action plans from project briefs, or proactively remind you of things you are likely to forget. For users who have encountered more mature AI assistants, Skai feels limited.

**Integration breadth is narrow.** There is no Notion, Obsidian, Jira, Linear, Asana, or project management integration. If your work lives across multiple specialised tools, Saner.ai cannot pull them together the way Sunsama can. You would need to manually migrate or duplicate captures.

**No collaboration features.** This is a personal tool, full stop. There is no shared workspace, no comments from teammates, no link-sharing for notes. For small business owners who need any team functionality, it does not apply.

**Data residency is unclear.** Saner.ai's privacy documentation confirms AES-256 encryption but does not publicly specify server locations. The company is registered in the US with development in Vietnam. Australian businesses with any data residency obligations should treat this as an offshore, unspecified-residency product and check directly with the company before subscribing.

**The product is young and small-team.** Features are shipped incrementally. The roadmap is active but the team is small. There is genuine product risk compared to established players like Notion or Obsidian.

**No timeblocking or calendar planning.** If you need to move from capturing tasks to actually scheduling time for them, Saner.ai leaves you to figure that out elsewhere. It surfaces what to work on; it does not help you plan when.

---

## Australian fit

Saner.ai is accessible to Australians with no geographic restrictions. The app is in English and works across all major platforms.

The main concerns for Australian users are:

1. **Data residency**: Unknown. Registered in the US. Server location not publicly specified. Not suitable for healthcare, finance, or government use cases with data localisation requirements.
2. **USD pricing on the web**: no AUD billing there, and GST adds to the effective cost, though the Starter plan at \~AU$12.32/month (annual, ex-GST) remains affordable. The iPhone app sells the same plans in Australian dollars with GST included, at the same price — A$149.00/year for Starter. *(Corrected 21 Sep 2026.)*
3. **Support timezone**: Small team. Email-based support. Response times for Australian-timezone users are unknown but a small US/Vietnam team is unlikely to offer fast AU-hours support.

The product has no AU-specific features, no AU case studies, and no AU localisation beyond functional English. It works here; it was not built with Australian users in mind.

**Australian Fit score: 2/5.** The app is accessible and affordable, and the App Store does bill in Australian dollars with GST included at no premium — but the unknown data residency and the absence of any AU-specific infrastructure hold it back for business use, and they are the reasons that matter for an app you feed your notes and email to. *(Rationale corrected 21 Sep 2026; mark unchanged — see Update history.)* Personal users with no data residency requirements can use it freely.

## Alternatives worth considering

[**Mem**](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-mem-australia-2026/) — A more mature AI-first notes app that indexes everything and surfaces context automatically. No manual tagging required. More expensive; better AI depth.

[**Reflect**](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-reflect-australia-2026/) — Elegant, fast AI note-taking built on networked notes. Better suited to structured thinkers; less ADHD-focused than Saner.ai.

[**Tana**](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-tana-australia-2026/) — Highly structured, outliner-based note-taking with AI integration. Extremely powerful for systems thinkers; steep learning curve; the opposite of ADHD-friendly simplicity.

---

## Bottom line

Saner.ai is the right app for a specific person: someone with ADHD or executive dysfunction who has tried Notion and found it overwhelming, who wants AI to help them find what they have already captured rather than generate new content, and who does not need team collaboration or calendar-level scheduling.

For that user, the free plan is an easy recommendation. It costs nothing, sets up in minutes, and the core AI search genuinely adds value. The Starter plan at AU$11.20/month is a fair price for unlimited access.

For the broader Australian knowledge worker who wants a full AI productivity suite — scheduling, project management, integrations — Saner.ai is not that tool yet. Try Sunsama, Notion AI, or Reclaim instead.

Update history
- **21 Sep 2026** — **Starter's web price re-stated ex-GST: AU$12.32 → AU$11.20.** US$8 × 1.4045 is A$11.24; A$12.32 is that grossed up 10%. The review used **AU$11.20 ex-GST** in the FAQ and **AU$12.32** in three other places — once labelled *inc. GST*, once unlabelled, and once, in the score table, labelled **ex-GST**, which it was not. All now read AU$11.20\. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; an unregistered buyer should allow \~10% on top. **The App Store figures are untouched:** Saner.ai's iPhone app sells the same plans in Australian dollars with GST included at A$19.00/month and A$149.00/year, and those are Apple's real AUD prices, which our AUD pricing rule leaves as written. No USD price moved and no score changed — Value for Money stays 4/5 and reads slightly better at the corrected figure. Superseded figures kept visible per our price-history rule; `reviewed:` untouched per our dating rule.
- **21 Sep 2026** — **The grossed-up AUD column removed from the pricing table.** The table carried a second Australian column adding 10% GST to every converted figure, so each plan had two Australian prices and the higher one asserted a tax most of our readers do not pay: under the ATO rule our GST treatment rests on, a GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is **not charged GST** on an imported digital service. **Nothing was re-cut** — the ex-GST column is unchanged and is the price. Removed, and kept visible here per our price-history rule: the column headed *"AUD (approx, if GST charged, +10%)"* (Starter — annual **\~AU$12.32/month**; Starter — monthly **\~AU$18.48/month**; Standard — annual **\~AU$24.64/month**; Standard — monthly **\~AU$31/month**). The GST position is stated in words once in the note above the pricing table. No USD price moved and no score changed. `reviewed:` untouched per our dating rule.
- **21 Sep 2026** — **Saner.ai has an Australian-dollar checkout on the App Store, priced level with the web. Recorded; no score moves.** This review says *"Saner.ai is priced in USD. There is no AUD billing"* and its Australian Fit row names USD pricing as one of three failures. The [Australian App Store listing](https://apps.apple.com/au/app/id6738684403?ref=theaidirectory.com.au) declares `"priceCurrency":"AUD"`, names **Saner.AI** as seller and sells **Starter at A$19.00/month or A$149.00/year and Standard at A$30.00/month or A$299.99/year**, GST included, on an Apple tax invoice. **The prices are a wash.** Starter at A$149.00/year is about A$135.45 ex-GST against roughly A$134/year on the web — within a dollar. Monthly is about A$17.27 ex-GST against \~A$16.80\. So the app buys an Australian tax invoice and no exchange-rate risk, at no meaningful premium, which is worth a reader knowing and is not worth a mark. **Australian Fit holds at 2/5:** one of its three named failures (USD pricing) is corrected, but **unknown data residency** — the serious one for an app you feed your notes and email to — and no AU infrastructure both stand. Value for Money holds at 4/5; the price has not changed, only the currency it is quoted in. **Was: "There is no AUD billing."** Found by the app-store pricing pass, `Audits/app-store-pricing-2026-09-21.md`. ## Frequently asked questions

### How much does Saner.ai cost in Australia?

Saner.ai has a free plan with 30 AI requests per month and up to 100 notes. The Starter plan costs USD $8/month billed annually (USD $12/month billed monthly), which converts to approximately AU$11.20/month ex-GST on the annual plan. The Standard plan is USD $16/month annually (\~AU$22.40/month ex-GST). Web prices are in USD with no AUD billing option; the iPhone app sells the same plans in Australian dollars with GST included at effectively the same price — Starter A$19.00/month or A$149.00/year, Standard A$30.00/month or A$299.99/year.

### Is Saner.ai good for ADHD?

Saner.ai is explicitly designed for people with ADHD and executive dysfunction. The interface is intentionally low-noise and distraction-free. The AI assistant Skai helps you retrieve past notes and context without needing to remember where you filed things. Notes and tasks live together in one place, reducing the need to switch apps. It is not a scheduling or calendar tool, so it works best alongside a calendar app rather than as a standalone productivity system.

### Where is Saner.ai data stored?

Saner.ai has not publicly specified the geographic location of its servers as of June 2026\. The company is registered in Delaware, USA, with development based in Vietnam. Data is encrypted with AES-256 in transit and at rest, and Saner.ai states it does not train on or sell user data. Australian businesses with data residency obligations should contact Saner.ai directly before subscribing.
