## What Realtair is

Realtair is an Australian-built, end-to-end property sales platform designed specifically for real estate agents. It handles the entire sales lifecycle: vendor presentations, listing setup, live auctions (in-room and remote), private treaty offers, timed auctions, and digital deposit collection. It is not a CRM, a listing portal, or a general productivity tool. It does one thing — property sales process management — and it does it with genuine depth.

The company was founded in Sydney and is now a subsidiary of REA Group, the ASX-listed parent of realestate.com.au. That acquisition matters. It means Realtair has the financial backing and data infrastructure of Australia's dominant property platform sitting behind it.

As of mid-2026, more than 9,000 agents use Realtair. Realtair also claims that seven of the top 10 agencies in the REB Top 50 are customers — a figure we could not verify against realtair.com or REA Group's public documentation at the time of writing, so treat it as an unconfirmed vendor claim. Even so, the broader adoption signal points to where serious auction agencies have landed.

## What it costs in Australia

Realtair uses a per-agent subscription model with a one-off activation fee.

**Is $189/month worth it?** The vendor claims agents save 11 hours per listing. At that rate the maths depends on how many listings an agent carries at once. A mid-market agent running four to six campaigns simultaneously is saving 44 to 66 hours per month — time that would otherwise go to manual bidder registration, chasing deposits, coordinating wet signatures, and stitching together disconnected tools. At any reasonable hourly rate for a licenced agent, that makes $189 look modest.

The $499 activation fee is a real barrier for sole operators trialling the platform before committing. There is no free trial advertised on the pricing page. That one-off cost should be factored into the first-year decision.

## How Realtair works in practice

Realtair organises around the three main ways Australians sell property: auction, private treaty, and timed auction. Each has its own workflow.

**Hybrid auction.** An agent sets up a campaign in Realtair, registers bidders digitally (ID verified, terms accepted), and on auction day can run simultaneous in-room and remote bidding from a single interface. The auctioneer controls the live feed; remote bidders see real-time bid updates and can place bids from their phone. Vendor bids — a uniquely Australian legal mechanism — are handled within the platform. Confirm compliance with state-specific auction regulations (particularly NSW Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs Victoria requirements) directly with Realtair before relying on this feature in your jurisdiction. Passed-in negotiations and conditional offers can flow immediately after the hammer, without the agent switching tools.

**Private treaty.** Buyers submit offers digitally through a Realtair-hosted link. The agent receives the offer, vendor notification goes out automatically, and counter-offers can move back and forth without a phone tag marathon. Acceptance triggers deposit collection and document signing within the same platform.

**Deposit collection.** This is where Realtair earns its keep. Digital deposits go directly to the agent's or agency's trust account — not to a third-party escrow, not to a holding account that needs reconciling later. Trust account compliance is baked in, not bolted on. For any principal who has spent time untangling deposit administration, this alone has material value.

**Realtair Pitch** is the vendor presentation module. Agents build proposal decks inside the platform — comparative market analysis, marketing schedule, fee structure — and deliver them as a branded digital presentation rather than a printed handout or a generic PDF. **Realtair Sign** handles document execution: listing agreements, contract amendments, authority forms. Both modules are included in the base subscription.

The workflow from listing to exchange lives inside one platform. That matters because the alternative — a CRM for contacts, a separate bidding platform, a DocuSign account, a deposit collection workaround, and a presentation tool of some kind — is four to five separate subscriptions and four to five places where data does not automatically talk to each other.

---

## What it does well

- **Hybrid auction execution is genuinely complete.** Most platforms handle either in-room or online. Realtair handles both simultaneously, with live bidding, vendor bids, and real-time updates for remote bidders. This is not a workaround — it is purpose-built for the Australian method.
- **Trust account deposit collection is built-in.** This is rare. Global competitors do not understand Australian trust accounting requirements. Realtair does. Digital deposits flow directly to trust — no third-party escrow, no reconciliation headache, no compliance gap.
- **The all-in-one scope is real.** Pitch, Sign, auction, private treaty, timed auction, and deposit collection in one platform. The tools are integrated. An offer accepted at auction can trigger a deposit request and a signing workflow without the agent re-entering data anywhere.
- **REA Group backing provides durable infrastructure.** Realtair has the capital and data resources of Australia's largest property technology group. That reduces the risk of the platform being wound down or starved of development investment — a genuine concern with smaller PropTech plays.

---

## What it doesn't do well

- **The $499 activation fee is an unnecessary friction point.** There is no obvious justification for a one-off setup cost on top of a subscription that already captures lifetime value from the customer. Sole operators and small independent agencies will feel this acutely. It could reasonably be waived for annual subscribers and Realtair would lose very little.
- **Data residency is not confirmed in publicly available documentation.** Realtair's privacy page returned a 404 when we checked it on 7 June 2026, and REA Group's public documentation does not include an explicit Realtair data residency statement. As a REA Group subsidiary headquartered in Australia, Realtair almost certainly stores data in Australian data centres — but agencies operating under ARPA or Privacy Act obligations, or handling sensitive vendor and buyer information, should confirm this directly with Realtair before onboarding. This is a gap in transparency, not necessarily a real problem — but it needs a direct answer from the vendor.
- **It is Australian-only by design.** This is simultaneously a strength and a limitation. Realtair has no international footprint. If an agency has offshore operations or cross-border mandates — uncommon but not unheard of in luxury and commercial real estate — Realtair is not the answer. This is a deliberate product choice, not a flaw, but worth noting.
- **REA Group ownership creates a long-term dependency question.** Realtair's competitive independence is now tied to REA Group's strategic priorities. REA could theoretically use platform access, data flows, or pricing as leverage in its broader relationship with agencies. This is speculative — there is no current evidence of this happening — but principals signing multi-year agency agreements should be aware of the ownership structure.

## Australian fit

Realtair's Australian fit is the publication's strongest yet for any tool in the real estate category. This is not a global product retrofitted for Australia — it is an Australian product built because the global options could not handle the local requirements.

Specific Australian mechanics built into the platform:

- **Vendor bids** — legally permitted in most Australian states under specific disclosure requirements. Realtair handles this within the auction flow. Global bidding platforms typically do not.
- **Cooling-off waivers** — the three-business-day cooling-off period and its waiver (Section 66W certificates in NSW, equivalent instruments in other states) are part of the post-auction process. Confirm state-specific instrument support with Realtair directly before relying on this for cross-state transactions.
- **Trust account deposit collection** — the requirement for real estate deposits to be held in a licenced trust account is a state-level legal requirement across Australia. Realtair's deposit flow is built around this, not around a generic payment collection model.
- **AUD pricing** — subscription is billed in AUD inclusive of GST. No currency conversion, no surprise exchange rate charges.
- **Six-day support** — support coverage includes Saturdays, which matters for an industry where auctions happen on Saturdays.

Data residency is the one open question (see limitations above). The answer is almost certainly Australia-based given REA Group's infrastructure footprint, but Realtair doesn't state it explicitly — if onshore residency is a hard requirement for your agency, confirm it with the vendor in writing.

**Australian Fit score: 5/5.** The platform was purpose-built to solve specifically Australian compliance and operational requirements. No global competitor comes close.

## Alternatives

**Rex Software** — a CRM-first platform that also handles auction administration. Consider Rex if your agency prioritises contact management and pipeline tracking over auction workflow depth. Realtair is more auction-focused; Rex is broader across the sales CRM function. **Campaign Agent** — handles property marketing payment and vendor-paid advertising. Not a direct competitor to Realtair's auction and transaction workflow, but some agencies use both. Consider Campaign Agent for marketing spend management; use Realtair for transaction execution.

**VaultRE / Console Cloud** — full agency management platforms including trust accounting, property management, and sales. If you need an all-agency platform rather than a sales-focused tool, these are worth evaluating. They are broader but less deep on auction mechanics than Realtair.

---

## Bottom line

Realtair is the right answer for any Australian agency that runs auctions — full stop. The hybrid auction functionality is not available at this depth anywhere else. The trust account deposit flow saves real compliance hours. The all-in-one scope (Pitch, auction, private treaty, Sign, deposits) eliminates the multi-tool juggle that most agents have normalised but shouldn't have to accept.

At $189/agent/month the price is material. Sole operators with low listing volumes should do the maths on hours saved versus subscription cost before committing. For agents running three or more campaigns simultaneously, it pays for itself quickly. The $499 activation fee is the only pricing decision that feels like a cash grab — it should be negotiable for annual subscribers.

The data residency question is a gap in the vendor's public documentation, not a disqualifier. Confirm it before you sign an enterprise agreement. Everything else about this platform reflects a team that genuinely understands how Australian property sales work — because they built it from the ground up for that market.

**Best for:** Active auction agents and agency principals running five or more campaigns per month who want one platform from vendor presentation to deposit collection.

**Consider alternatives if:** You run a very low volume of auctions and the subscription maths don't work, or you need a full CRM alongside transaction management.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Realtair available in Australia?

Yes — it's Australian-built and Australian-only by design. Founded in Sydney and now a subsidiary of REA Group (parent of realestate.com.au), it's used by more than 9,000 agents as of mid-2026\. It has no international footprint.

### Does Realtair charge in AUD?

Yes. The subscription is billed in AUD inclusive of GST — $189/agent/month plus a one-off $499 activation fee. No currency conversion or surprise exchange-rate charges. Campaigns are unlimited and all features are included.

### Is there a free trial?

No free trial is advertised on the pricing page, and the one-off $499 activation fee is a real barrier for sole operators wanting to try before committing. Factor that into the first-year decision.

### Is it worth $189 a month?

For active auction agents, yes. Realtair claims 11 hours saved per listing — a mid-market agent running four to six campaigns is saving 44 to 66 hours a month. For agents running three or more campaigns at once, it pays for itself quickly. Low-volume sole operators should do the maths first.

### Where is my data stored?

Not confirmed publicly — Realtair's privacy page returned a 404 when we checked. As an Australian-headquartered REA Group subsidiary it almost certainly stores data onshore, but if onshore residency is a hard requirement, confirm it with the vendor in writing before signing.
