> **Verdict (TL;DR):** Pebblely does one job and does it well — it turns a plain product snap into a styled, marketplace-ready photo without a studio, a photographer, or any design skill. The free tier is genuinely useful and the paid plans start cheap. But you pay in US dollars, there is no Australian pricing, the company sits in Singapore with no stated AU data residency, and the monthly image caps are tight. For a Tasmanian Etsy seller or a Melbourne Shopify store, it is a smart, low-cost shortcut — just go in knowing it was not built with Australians in mind.

## What it is

Pebblely is an AI product-photography tool. You upload a photo of your product — a candle, a handbag, a bottle of olive oil — and it removes the background, then drops the item into a styled scene with realistic lighting, shadows and reflections. The output is meant for marketplace listings, social posts, ad creative and website hero images.

The pitch is simple. Instead of booking a photographer or building a light tent on your kitchen bench, you upload one image and pick from background themes or write a custom prompt. Pebblely says it has generated over 25 million images for sellers on Etsy, Shopify, Amazon and similar platforms.

This is a narrow tool, not a general image generator. It will not write your blog or design a logo. It stages products. Within that lane it is fast and the results are convincing, which is exactly why it has a following among small online sellers.

The company behind it is Pebblely Pte Ltd, registered in Singapore. That matters for Australians, and I will come back to it.

## Pricing in AUD

Pebblely prices everything in US dollars. Here are the current monthly plans from the vendor pricing page, with an approximate AUD conversion at the rate we use across the directory (US$1 ≈ A$1.40 as of September 2026). These conversions are ours, not Pebblely's — the figure you actually pay depends on your card's exchange rate on the day.

| Plan | Price (USD/mo) | Approx AUD/mo | Images per month |
| ---------------- | -------------- | ------------- | ---------------- |
| Free | US$0 | A$0 | 40 |
| Lite | US$9 | \~A$13 | 30 |
| Basic | US$19 | \~A$27 | 200 |
| Pro (best value) | US$39 | \~A$55 | 500 |

A quirk worth flagging: the free plan's 40 images sit *above* the paid Lite plan's 30\. The free tier is positioned as a generous try-before-you-buy, and on image count alone a hobbyist may never need to leave it. The free plan requires no credit card to start. Pebblely's own pricing page foregrounds the three paid tiers; the 40-image free plan is confirmed through the sign-up flow and the company's published plan details rather than the headline pricing grid.

All tiers include the 40-plus background themes and custom prompts. Bulk generation — making several variations at once — is reserved for Basic and Pro. Yearly billing is available, and Pebblely says it gives "2 or more months free" versus paying monthly, though the exact annual figures are not shown on the pricing grid.

**On GST:** Pebblely is a Singapore company billing in USD, so this is an imported digital service. Whether GST is added at checkout, baked in, or left for you to self-assess is not stated on the pricing page. Australian businesses claiming the cost should treat the GST treatment as unconfirmed and check their own invoice. For a sole trader the dollar amounts are small either way, but do not assume a GST credit is sitting there.

One real limitation: monthly image credits reset and do not roll over. If you generate ten images in a busy week and nothing the next, the unused balance is gone at month's end. For seasonal sellers that is mildly annoying rather than fatal, but it shapes which plan makes sense — buy for your busiest month, not your average one.

## Australian fit

This is where Pebblely is weakest, and honesty demands I lead with it.

There is no AUD pricing. You are billed in US dollars through Stripe, so every charge carries your card issuer's foreign-exchange margin on top of the headline price. Budget a few per cent above the AUD figures in the table.

There is no stated Australian data residency. The privacy policy does not name where images and product data are stored, and the company is Singapore-registered. For most sellers staging a candle photo, that is no issue. For anyone uploading product imagery tied to unreleased designs or sensitive commercial information, the absence of a clear storage location and retention period is a genuine gap. Pebblely says it deletes or de-identifies personal information once it is no longer needed, but gives no firm timeframe.

There is no Australian support presence — support is online and standard-tier on the lower plans. Time-zone overlap with Singapore is decent, which helps, but there is no AU phone line or local accountability.

On the positive side, the tool itself is geography-neutral. It does not need an Australian dataset to stage a product well, and the outputs are not Australia-specific in any way that creates a problem. The IP-rights position is also clear and favourable: Pebblely's terms state you own the images you generate and can use them commercially. The catch is standard for AI image tools — Pebblely gives no guarantee the output does not infringe someone else's intellectual property, and you carry that risk. For staged product shots of your own goods that risk is low, but it is on you to check.

Net: the *software* works fine for Australians. The *commercial wrapper* — USD billing, no local pricing, unclear data residency, no AU support — is what drags the local fit down.

## Where it's strong

**Speed and zero learning curve.** Upload, pick a theme, generate. A non-technical operator gets a usable image in under a minute. There is no Photoshop, no masking, no design brief. For a busy owner who just needs the listing live, that is the whole value.

**The free tier is real.** Forty images a month, no card required, full theme access and automatic background removal. Plenty of tools dangle a "free" plan that is useless. Pebblely's is enough to photograph a small catalogue.

**Output quality in its niche.** The lighting, shadows and reflections are convincing on simple, well-lit source photos. Side by side with a flat phone snap on a marketplace listing, the staged version looks materially more professional.

**Honest, owner-friendly terms.** You own your images and can sell with them. That is not universal in this category, and it removes a real worry for commercial users.

**Low entry cost.** At roughly A$13 a month for Lite, the financial risk of trying it is trivial.

## Where it's weak

**Tight image caps and no rollover.** Thirty images on Lite is genuinely few once you factor in re-rolls to get a keeper. Unused credits vanish monthly. Heavy users are pushed quickly toward the A$55 Pro tier.

**USD billing and FX margin.** No AUD option means every charge is a little more than the sticker, and reconciling foreign-currency charges is a minor accounting chore.

**Unclear data residency and retention.** No stated storage location, no firm deletion timeframe. Fine for most, a real concern for the privacy-conscious or anyone with sensitive product imagery.

**Narrow scope.** It stages products and little else. If you want broader design work, you will need other tools alongside it.

**Source-photo dependent.** The AI is good, not magical. A poorly lit, cluttered or low-resolution source image produces mediocre output. Garbage in, garbage out still applies.

**Thin public reliability signals.** The 25-million-image figure suggests scale and stability, but there is no published uptime SLA, and support on lower tiers is standard-only. You are trusting a small Singapore company, not an enterprise vendor.

## The score

| --------------------- | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Value for Money | 4 / 5 | Cheap to start and a genuinely useful free tier, but tight image caps and no credit rollover pull it back. |
| Ease of Use | 4 / 5 | Upload, pick, generate — no skills needed. Loses a point only because quality leans on a good source photo. |
| Feature Depth | 3 / 5 | Excellent at the one thing it does; deliberately narrow, with no broader design or editing toolkit. |
| Australian Fit | 2 / 5 | USD-only billing, no AUD pricing, Singapore entity, no stated AU data residency or support, unconfirmed GST. |
| Reliability & Support | 3 / 5 | Real scale and clear ownership terms, but standard-only support on lower tiers and no published SLA. |
| **Total** | **16 / 25** | **⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good** |

**Australian Fit gate:** Australian Fit is our defining criterion, and Pebblely scores 2/5 on it. Under our methodology a five-star rating and any category Top Pick require Australian Fit of at least 4/5\. Pebblely's 16/25 already lands in the four-star band, so no cap is needed to bring it down — but for the record, weak local fit would prevent it from being named a category winner regardless of its raw total.

## Verdict

Pebblely is a sharp, affordable answer to a specific problem: making product photos look professional without a studio. For an Australian small seller — the Etsy maker, the Shopify side hustle, the market-stall operator building a first online catalogue — it is worth trying today. The free tier costs nothing and answers the only question that matters, which is whether the output looks good enough for your products. For many, it will.

What stops it short of an unreserved recommendation is the Australian wrapper, not the software. You pay in US dollars with no local pricing, the GST treatment is unconfirmed, and there is no stated data residency or local support. None of that is a dealbreaker for staging a candle. All of it is a reason to go in with eyes open, keep an eye on your card statement, and avoid uploading anything commercially sensitive until the storage picture is clearer.

Recommendation: start on the free plan. If you outgrow 40 images a month and the quality holds up on your products, the Basic plan at roughly A$27 is the sensible step up. Skip Lite — at 30 images it offers fewer pictures than the free tier for actual money.

*Pebblely is a creative tool, not professional advice. Verify the GST treatment on your own invoice before claiming it as a business expense.*
