> **Verdict (TL;DR):** mabl is one of the most capable AI-native testing platforms on the market. It builds, runs, heals and triages automated tests across web, mobile, API, accessibility and performance from a single product. The technology is genuinely good. But the pricing is quote-only, with no published figure in any currency, no AUD, and no stated Australian data-residency option. That combination earns respect, not a clean recommendation. Worth a trial if you have a real QA budget and a sales team to negotiate with. **Score: 17/25 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good.**

## What it is

mabl is an AI-native software testing platform. Its job is to check that your web app, mobile app or API still works every time your developers ship code. It does this with very little hand-coding.

The pitch is "agentic" testing. mabl reads your codebase, generates tests, runs them in parallel, and — the headline feature — auto-heals tests when your app changes. A button moves, a label changes, and a traditional test script breaks. mabl is designed to repair that automatically rather than make a human rewrite it.

Coverage is broad. One subscription spans web UI, mobile (iOS and Android), API testing with Postman import, plus accessibility and performance testing. mabl also markets failure triage that pushes insights into tools like Jira and Claude Code.

This is squarely a developer and QA-team product. It is not for the everyday Australian our reviews usually speak to. So read this one as a buyer's guide for software teams, not a tool for a solo operator. If you do not ship software, mabl is not for you.

## Pricing in AUD

Here is the first real problem. mabl does not publish a price. Anywhere. In any currency.

The official pricing page describes the model but never names a number. You "pay once and share mabl across all capabilities," cloud test runs are metered through a credit system, and the baseline is 500 cloud-test-run credits per month. Local test runs and CI test runs are free and unlimited. To get an actual figure you must request a quote. (Source: mabl pricing page; the page carries no dollar amount.)

Two capabilities sit outside the core bundle as paid add-ons: native mobile app testing (for unlimited parallel cloud runs on iOS and Android) and a Technical Account Manager. A 14-day free trial is offered.

Because mabl publishes nothing, I will not invent a number and dress it as fact. Third-party resellers and pricing-aggregator sites float ranges — figures in the hundreds of US dollars per month for an entry tier, scaling into the low thousands for higher run volumes. None of those are mabl's own numbers, so treat them as market rumour, not pricing. If a sales rep quotes you, that quote is the only figure that counts.

For Australian buyers this matters in three ways. First, expect to be quoted in US dollars and to convert yourself at roughly 1.40 — a USD 1,000 monthly figure lands near AUD 1,400 before negotiation. Second, GST: a US vendor selling B2B into Australia typically does not add Australian GST at the invoice; you handle GST treatment through the reverse-charge rules with your accountant, so budget the headline figure as the cost. Third, opaque pricing favours the vendor in a negotiation. Go in knowing your run volume.

## Australian fit

This is where mabl is weakest, and it is the reason the score is capped where it is.

mabl is a US-headquartered platform built on Google Cloud. Customer data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 using Google Cloud KMS, and data in transit uses TLS 1.2 or higher. That is solid security engineering. What it is not is a data-residency promise.

I could find no primary statement from mabl committing to an Australian hosting region, or even offering AU data residency as an option. Google Cloud has Sydney and Melbourne regions, so the underlying infrastructure could in principle sit in Australia — but mabl does not say it does, and "could in principle" is not a commitment you can take to a compliance officer. If your testing data includes anything sensitive and your organisation has data-sovereignty obligations, you must put this question to mabl's sales team in writing before you sign.

Support is listed as 24/5 with a Customer Success Manager. That covers Australian business hours by virtue of being always-on across the working week, but there is no AU-based support team, no AU phone line, and no Australian-timezone SLA that I can verify. There is no AUD billing, no Australian entity, and no AU-specific compliance posture beyond the global SOC 2 Type II certification.

None of this makes mabl unusable from Australia. Plenty of Australian software teams run US SaaS testing tools. But on our defining criterion — does this tool genuinely serve Australians as Australians — mabl is generic. It treats Australia as just another market reached over the internet.

## Where it's strong

The product depth is the real story. mabl is not a thin AI wrapper.

The breadth is rare. Buying web, mobile, API, accessibility and performance testing as five separate tools is the norm. mabl folds them into one platform with one credit pool. For a QA lead trying to consolidate a sprawling toolchain, that alone is worth the meeting.

Auto-healing is the feature teams actually stay for. Brittle test maintenance is the tax that kills most test-automation efforts. A test suite that repairs itself when the UI shifts removes the single biggest reason teams abandon automation. mabl has built its reputation here, and it shows.

The free local and CI runs are a genuinely smart commercial choice. Developers can run tests on every commit at no metered cost; you only pay for cloud runs. That aligns the pricing with how modern teams actually work and keeps the meter off your most frequent activity.

Maturity is evident. mabl has held SOC 2 Type II certification since 2021 — early for a company its age — and audits the functioning of its security program, not just its existence. The Trust Center (powered by SafeBase) gives prospects a documented place to assess controls. This is an enterprise-grade vendor, not a weekend project.

## Where it's weak

The pricing opacity is the headline weakness, and it is not a small one. A product that will not show you a price before a sales call is a product that has decided its price is high enough to need defending. For a small Australian team that is a real barrier — you cannot self-serve, you cannot budget cleanly, and you cannot compare like-for-like without sitting through a demo.

The Australian fit gaps compound it: no AUD, no stated AU residency, no local support presence.

The credit model needs watching. 500 cloud credits a month is the baseline, and cloud run volume is the main cost lever. A team with heavy cross-browser or parallel cloud testing can burn through an allowance quickly, and overage is exactly the kind of cost that surprises you in month three. Model your real run volume before you commit.

Finally, the audience is narrow by design. mabl rewards teams that already have a QA function and a real testing culture. Drop it on a two-person startup with no testing discipline and the AI cannot save you — you will pay enterprise money for capability you cannot yet use.

## The 5×5 score

| Value for Money | 3/5 | Genuinely capable and consolidates five tools, but quote-only pricing with no published figure and a metered credit model make value impossible to judge upfront. |
| Ease of Use | 3/5 | Low-code test creation and auto-healing lower the skill floor, but this is still an enterprise QA platform with real setup and a learning curve. |
| Feature Depth | 5/5 | Web, mobile, API, accessibility and performance testing in one platform, plus auto-healing and AI triage. Among the deepest in the category. |
| Australian Fit | 2/5 | No AUD pricing, no stated AU data residency, no local support entity. Runs on Google Cloud with strong global security, but nothing AU-specific. |
| Reliability & Support | 4/5 | SOC 2 Type II since 2021, AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+, 24/5 support and a CSM. Mature, well-documented, enterprise-grade. |
| **Total** | **17/25** | **⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good** |

**Australian Fit gate:** Australian Fit scores 2/5, below the 4/5 threshold. mabl cannot wear five stars or be named a category Top Pick regardless of its raw total. The displayed rating is four stars, in line with the 17/25 band, and the gate confirms it cannot rise higher. See our [Methodology](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/methodology/) for how the gate works.

## Verdict

mabl is a strong product wearing an awkward suit. The testing technology is excellent — broad coverage, real auto-healing, sensible free local runs, and the maturity of a vendor that has taken security seriously since its second year. If you run a software team with a QA function and a budget, mabl belongs on your shortlist.

But the publication's job is to recommend tools that serve Australians well, and mabl makes that hard. The pricing is invisible until you book a call. There is no AUD, no Australian data-residency commitment you can point a compliance officer at, and no local support presence. Strong global security is not the same as Australian fit.

So the recommendation is conditional. Trial it — the 14-day trial costs nothing and the technology will likely impress. Then go into the sales conversation with two non-negotiables: a clear AUD-equivalent figure tied to your real run volume, and a written answer on where your test data is hosted. If both come back well, mabl is a very good buy. If they come back vague, walk. **⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good — 17/25.**

*Pricing model, plan inclusions and SOC 2 Type II status verified against mabl's own pricing page, homepage and security blog on 28 June 2026\. Wayback snapshots of those primary pages are archived at web.archive.org (mabl.com, mabl.com/pricing and the mabl SOC 2 blog post). mabl publishes no dollar figure; any specific price must come from a mabl quote.*

Update history
- **23 Sep 2026 🇦🇺 Re-verified by browser: mabl still publishes no price, and this review was right not to invent one.** Read on an Australian connection, 23 September 2026\. A scan of the rendered pricing page found **no dollar figure of any kind and no currency string** — the plans are Team and Enterprise behind *Contact Us*. The review's position, *“Because mabl publishes nothing, I will not invent a number and dress it as fact”*, stands exactly as written. **No AUD price exists to find**, which closes this tool's row on the AUD claim queue; `aud_native: false` is set explicitly so the heuristic does not guess from the body. No change to any figure, because there is no figure.
