**The gate:** Five stars need 21+ and Australian Fit of at least 4/5.

*Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow \~10% on top (*[*Methodology*](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/methodology/)*).*

> **The verdict:** Genspark is one of the most ambitious AI agents on the market. Instead of routing your prompt to a single model, its Super Agent fires a request across nine different AI models and more than eighty tools, then assembles the result — a deck, a research spreadsheet, a deep-research report, even a real phone call placed on your behalf. When it works, it feels like the future. The problem is the same one that haunts every agent of this kind: it does not always work, it burns credits fast, and you pay for the misses as well as the hits. Independent testing put its phone-call success rate at around 83% — roughly one call in six needs you to step in. Pricing is in US dollars, data sits on US-region Microsoft Azure with no Australian option, and the public review sentiment around credit consumption is rough. For research, drafting and one-off automation it is a powerful tool to keep in the kit. For anything you must be able to rely on without checking, it is not there yet. Score: 15/25 — Good.

## What it is

Genspark is an **all-in-one AI workspace built around a "Super Agent"** — an autonomous, no-code assistant that takes a plain-English instruction and carries out the multi-step task behind it. Ask it to plan a five-day trip and it will research attractions, map transit, and place restaurant bookings by phone. Ask it for a pitch deck and it drafts the slides, generates the cover art, and can fact-check each slide on request.

The thing that makes Genspark different is what sits under the bonnet. Rather than relying on one model, it runs a **mixture-of-agents architecture across nine large language models** — including GPT-4.1, Claude and Gemini — and **more than eighty integrated tools**, assigning each sub-task to whichever component suits it best and cross-checking outputs to cut down on errors. Genspark launched the Super Agent in April 2025, and it scaled extraordinarily fast.

The company behind it is **MainFunc Inc.**, a Palo Alto startup founded in 2024 by Eric Jing (Jing Kun), a former Baidu vice-president and chief executive of Xiaodu, with co-founder Kay Zhu, formerly of Google and Baidu. MainFunc raised a US$275 million Series B in November 2025, reaching a valuation above US$1 billion. So this is a well-funded, fast-moving company, not a weekend project — but it is also young, and it shows in the rough edges.

## What it costs in Australia

Genspark bills in **US dollars** on a **credit** model, with three tiers. The prices below are taken from Genspark's own pricing and help pages; the AUD figures are our conversions at roughly 1.40, with 10% GST added, not prices Genspark quotes.

| Plan | USD/mo (billed annually) | USD/mo (month-to-month) | Approx AUD/mo ex-GST | Credits/mo (from) | AI Drive storage |
| ---------- | ------------------------ | ----------------------- | ------------------------------------ | ----------------- | ---------------- |
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | Limited | Standard |
| Plus | US$19.99 | US$24.99 | \~A$28 (annual) / \~A$35 (monthly) | from 10,000 | 50 GB |
| Pro | US$199.99 | US$249.99 | \~A$280 (annual) / \~A$350 (monthly) | from 125,000 | 1 TB |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | — | Custom | Custom |

A few things shape the real cost. Both paid tiers offer **multiple credit sub-tiers** — the figures above are the entry point, and you can buy more credits at a higher price or switch tiers anytime. Annual billing saves roughly 20% and issues your credits monthly across the year. Pro is a steep jump: about 12.5 times the credits and 20 times the storage of Plus, which only makes sense if you are generating video or running long agent jobs daily.

One genuinely useful wrinkle: through **December 2026, AI chat and AI image generation cost zero credits on paid plans**. That preserves your credit balance for the expensive work — video, deep research, and long agent runs — which is where credits actually drain.

For Australians, the headline issues are the usual ones. Pricing is **USD only**, with no AUD line and no GST statement on Genspark's own pages, so expect the weak dollar to add about 40% over the sticker at 1.4045 (Frankfurter/ECB, 18 September 2026), and confirm GST treatment at checkout. There is no Australian billing entity of Genspark's own.

## How it works / features

You give the Super Agent an outcome; it works out the steps. The headline capabilities:

- **Super Agent.** The central hub. It interprets the goal behind your prompt, breaks it into sub-tasks, and dispatches each to the right model or tool.
- **Call For Me.** The most talked-about feature — an AI that places real phone calls and holds a live conversation, built on the OpenAI Realtime API for natural speech-to-speech. It can book a table, chase a supplier, or confirm an appointment.
- **AI Slides.** Drafts full decks, generates stylised cover images, and offers a one-click fact-check that flags which claims have strong sourcing and which do not.
- **AI Sheets.** Works like a research analyst — search for something like "top 20 YouTube videos on AI automation" and it pulls the data into a live table you can keep working in.
- **AI Pods.** Turns articles, news or playlists into a produced, podcast-style audio brief.
- **Deep Research, AI Designer, Photo Genius, Clip Genius and a Cloud Computer.** A broad suite of generation and automation tools sitting alongside the agent.

The breadth is real: Genspark is trying to be the one workspace where slides, sheets, images, video, research and outbound calls all live. For an Australian small-business owner juggling five separate subscriptions, the consolidation pitch lands.

## What it does well

**The multi-model approach is a real edge for research.** Running a question across several models in parallel and reconciling the answers genuinely reduces the confident-but-wrong problem that plagues single-model tools. For research and planning work, that cross-checking is worth having.

**Call For Me is a standout.** Very few consumer tools will pick up the phone and actually negotiate a booking in natural speech. When the call is straightforward, it works, and it saves a job nobody enjoys.

**It consolidates a stack.** Slides, sheets, deep research, image and video generation, podcasts and calling in one place is a strong value proposition if you currently pay for several of those separately. The zero-credit chat and image generation through December 2026 sweetens it further.

**It is fast-moving and well-funded.** A US$275 million Series B and unicorn valuation mean the product is being developed quickly and is unlikely to disappear — important when you are deciding whether to build a workflow around it.

## Where it falls short

**Credit burn is the defining complaint, and it is loud.** The most resource-hungry tasks — video, long agent runs, complex builds — drain credits quickly, and Genspark's public reputation on this point is poor. On Trustpilot it sits at roughly 1.7 out of 5, with the large majority of reviews at one star, and the recurring theme is users feeling their credits vanished far faster than expected, sometimes within hours, with support slow to respond. Some go further and accuse the system of unnecessary steps that consume credits. We cannot verify intent, but the volume of the complaint is itself the warning: budgeting real-world usage is hard, and the meter runs whether the task succeeds or not.

**Agentic reliability is hit and miss.** Independent testing of Call For Me found about an **83% success rate across 47 calls** — meaning roughly one in six needed a human to step in, typically on complex phone menus or calls requiring judgement. That is fine for low-stakes errands and a genuine problem for anything important. The honest summary from reviewers is that it works well on simple tasks and fails unpredictably on hard ones, so you cannot yet fire-and-forget the things that matter.

**You still have to check the output.** The multi-model cross-checking lowers the hallucination rate; it does not remove it. Treat slides, research tables and reports as strong first drafts to verify, not finished work to forward.

**No Australian data residency.** Genspark's data sits on **Microsoft Azure in US regions** under its policies; there is no Australian region on offer. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, and enterprise clients can negotiate zero-retention and zero-training terms — but for an individual or small-business user handling Australian personal data, the default is offshore processing with limited transparency about exactly what is stored and where.

## Australian fit

**Pricing:** US dollars only, no AUD and no GST line on Genspark's pages — expect the exchange-rate premium and confirm GST at checkout. **Data residency:** US-region Azure by default, no Australian option; enterprise zero-retention is the only stronger posture, and it is negotiated, not standard. **Support:** no Australian entity or local-time support, and the public sentiment on support responsiveness is weak. **Availability:** globally accessible with web and mobile apps, Australians can sign up and pay freely, but there is nothing Australia-specific in the product — no local data handling, no AU-aware defaults. The model breadth and calling feature are impressive, but none of it is built with an Australian buyer in mind. Australian Fit: 2/5.

| Value for Money | 2/5 | Powerful suite and zero-credit chat/images help, but heavy credit burn, USD billing, an expensive Pro jump and a poor public sentiment on cost make true spend unpredictable. |
| Ease of Use | 4/5 | No-code, plain-English prompting with a genuinely capable agent and a clean workspace — a non-technical Australian can get real output quickly. |
| Feature Depth | 5/5 | Nine-model architecture, 80-plus tools, slides, sheets, deep research, video, podcasts and real phone calls. Few rivals match the breadth. |
| Australian Fit | 2/5 | No AUD, GST unstated, US-region Azure hosting with no AU residency, no AU support. |
| Reliability & Support | 2/5 | Multi-model cross-checking helps accuracy, but \~83% call success, "works then fails unpredictably" behaviour, a 1.7/5 Trustpilot rating and slow-support complaints weigh heavily. |

⭐⭐⭐ Good (11–15).

Australian Fit is 2/5, below the 4/5 threshold in our [methodology](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/methodology/), so Genspark cannot be named a category Top Pick regardless of its raw score.

## Bottom line

**If you want a research and drafting powerhouse,** Genspark earns its place. The multi-model approach to deep research, slides and sheets produces strong first drafts, and the breadth of tools in one workspace is rare. Use it to get to 80% fast, then verify.

**If you want to automate real-world tasks,** treat Call For Me as an impressive assistant, not an autopilot. At roughly one failed call in six, it is excellent for low-stakes errands and the wrong tool for anything you cannot afford to have go wrong unwatched.

**If cost predictability matters,** go in with your eyes open. Start on Free or month-to-month Plus, watch how fast your specific workload eats credits before committing annually, and do not assume Pro's headline credit count makes heavy use cheap.

**If your work touches Australian personal or regulated data,** the US-region Azure hosting with no Australian residency is the deciding issue. Enterprise zero-retention terms exist, but for individual and small-business users the default is offshore. Prove the data path suits your obligations before you route anything sensitive through it.

Update history
- **30 Sep 2026 — currency confirmed in a browser; the price ladder could not be re-read.** On an Australian connection, `genspark.ai/pricing` now sends a logged-out visitor to the sign-in page, so the Plus and Pro prices in the table were **not** re-verified today. The help centre's Membership Plans page confirms the credits and storage (Plus from 10,000 credits and 50 GB; Pro from 125,000 credits and 1 TB), and its Team and Enterprise FAQ says billing in any currency other than USD is not available, with bank conversion fees on non-USD cards. No `A$` anywhere. `aud_native: false` set. Prices left as last verified; score unchanged. - **21 Sep 2026** — **Corrected a leftover from the retired exchange-rate basis.** This review's prose told the reader to expect the Australian dollar to add **“roughly 55% over the sticker”**, which is the fixed \~1.55 rate **our AUD pricing rule retired on 5 September 2026**. The figures in the pricing table were re-cut to the live rate by the FX sweep at the time; **the sentence describing them was not**, so the review has been contradicting its own footnote ever since — one line saying the A$ column was converted at 1.4045, another telling the reader to budget as though it were 1.55\. At 1.4045 the uplift is **40.45%**, so the sentence now says **about 40%** and cites the rate and its date inline, as our AUD pricing rule requires. **No price, figure or score changes** — the table was already correct; only the sentence a reader budgets from was wrong.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Genspark's Super Agent?

It is an autonomous, no-code AI agent that takes a plain-English instruction and carries out the multi-step task behind it — building slides or spreadsheets, running deep research, generating video, or placing real phone calls. It works by routing the job across nine AI models and more than eighty tools.

### How much does Genspark cost in Australia?

Pricing is in US dollars. Plus is US$24.99 a month month-to-month or US$19.99 billed annually (around A$35 or A$28 a month ex-GST at our conversion); Pro is US$249.99 or US$199.99 annually (around A$350 or A$280). There is a free tier. Genspark does not publish AUD prices or a GST line, so confirm GST at checkout and budget for the exchange rate.

### How do Genspark's credits work?

Both paid plans give you a monthly pool of credits — Plus from 10,000 a month, Pro from 125,000 — that resource-intensive tasks like video and long agent runs consume. Through December 2026, AI chat and image generation cost zero credits on paid plans. Credit burn is the most common user complaint, so watch how fast your own workload spends them.

### Can Genspark really make phone calls for me?

Yes. The Call For Me feature places real phone calls and holds a live conversation using the OpenAI Realtime API. Independent testing put its success rate at about 83%, so roughly one call in six — usually complex menus or judgement calls — needs a human to step in.

### Is my data stored in Australia with Genspark?

No. Genspark stores data on Microsoft Azure in US regions, with no Australian option. Account data is deleted within 30 days of closure, and enterprise clients can negotiate zero-retention and zero-training terms, but the default for individual users is offshore processing.

### Who owns Genspark?

Genspark is built by MainFunc Inc., a Palo Alto startup founded in 2024 by Eric Jing (formerly of Baidu and Xiaodu) and Kay Zhu. It raised a US$275 million Series B in November 2025 at a valuation above US$1 billion.
