Head-to-head verdict

[**18**/25RelumeWinner](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-relume-australia-2026/)[**17**/25Framer](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-framer-australia-2026/)

**Our pick: Relume.** The verdict below says who should buy the other.

*Pricing figures updated 6 September 2026: USD prices are converted at the current rate (1 USD ≈ 1.40 AUD, verified 5 September 2026) and shown ex-GST, replacing the retired 1.55 + GST basis. A GST-registered Australian business that supplies its ABN is not charged GST on an imported digital service; other buyers should allow \~10% on top (*[*Methodology*](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/methodology/)*).*

> **Winner: Relume** for the solo Australian builder or small studio. It saves more billable hours, scores higher (18/25 vs 17/25), and its Sydney origin gives it the local edge. Pay for Framer only if the finished site's look-and-feel is the whole product and you have no other build tool.

## The tension

Relume and Framer are not really competitors. They sit in the same pipeline, at different ends.

Relume works upstream. Type a brief, and it generates a sitemap, wireframes and starter copy you then export to Figma or Webflow. It hands off; it does not host.

Framer works downstream. You design on its canvas and publish the live, hosted site from the same tool. It ships.

A well-funded agency runs both — Relume to draft, Framer or Webflow to build. But a solo builder or a two-person studio often can't justify two subscriptions on top of a Webflow bill. So the real question is narrow and practical: which one do you actually pay for?

We scored both. [Relume took 18/25](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-relume-australia-2026/). [Framer took 17/25](https://www.theaidirectory.com.au/review-framer-australia-2026/) (16 in June; lifted a point on 28 September 2026 when it began billing Australians in AUD). This piece explains what that one-point gap means for an Australian buyer, and who should ignore the gap entirely.

## What each tool actually does

Treat this as if you've used neither.

**Relume** is an accelerator for people who design and build marketing websites. You give it a sentence or two about a business. It returns three things: an AI sitemap (the page structure), wireframes (page layouts filled with real placeholder copy, not lorem ipsum), and a style guide. Then it exports that structure into Webflow, Figma, React or HTML, where you finish and host the site. The value sits in its component library — Relume states it offers over 1,000 reusable, professionally structured components, so the output looks designed rather than generated. Relume does not produce a finished, live website. That is the whole point, and the single biggest thing people get wrong about it.

**Framer** started as a design and prototyping tool and grew into a full builder that hosts what you make. Its AI generates a starting site from a prompt and helps restyle and rewrite. But its centre of gravity is the canvas — a precise, layout-aware editor closer to Figma than to Wix. Framer produces the best-looking, most animated sites in the no-code category, and it publishes them itself. No export, no second tool.

So Relume gives you a structured draft to build elsewhere. Framer gives you a finished, hosted site — if you can drive its canvas.

## Pricing in Australia

This is where the two diverge most, and where verification matters.

**Framer** now bills Australians in AUD — its pricing page, read in the in-app browser on an Australian connection on 28 September 2026, shows Free, Basic (A$13 a month on yearly billing), Pro (A$40) and Enterprise (custom), with extra editors at A$26 — and adds sales tax at checkout based on your location, so an Australian buyer should see GST on the invoice. That is a change since June, when the same page showed USD (Basic US$10, Pro US$30) and this comparison said there was no native AUD price. The lineup has also tightened: the old "Scale" tier is gone and every paid plan is metered by monthly AI credits. Confirm the checkout produces a compliant tax invoice before you rely on it for your BAS.

**Relume** is harder to pin down, and we say so plainly. Its pricing page renders the dollar figures as on-page graphics, so we cannot machine-read them or Wayback-snap a clean number. Third-party trackers report USD billing, roughly: Starter \~US$26/mo, Pro \~US$58/mo, Team \~US$52/user/mo, with annual billing cutting about 30%. Converted at \~1.40 and converted for GST, Pro lands near A$73/mo per seat — an estimate, not a quote. Relume's page does not state whether Australian customers are billed in AUD or shown GST. For a Sydney company, that gap is genuinely odd.

The practical read: Framer's entry price is lower and its tax treatment clearer. Relume costs more per seat, its pricing is opaque, and it usually sits on top of a Webflow subscription. But Relume replaces hours of a designer's time, which changes the value maths — more on that below.

| Plan tier | Relume (est.) | Framer (verified) |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------- |
| Free | US$0 | US$0 |
| Entry paid | \~US$26/mo (\~A$36 est., GST unconfirmed) | A$13/mo billed yearly (native AUD) |
| Mid paid | \~US$58/mo (\~A$81 est., GST unconfirmed) | A$40/mo billed yearly (native AUD) |
| GST treatment | Not stated on pricing page | Sales tax added at checkout |

## Where Relume wins

- **It saves the most billable time.** A full sitemap, wireframes and starter copy from one brief removes the blank-page problem. A competent Webflow user goes from nothing to a styled draft in an afternoon, not two days.
- **The component library is the moat.** Over 1,000 professionally structured components (Relume's own count) mean the output looks like a designer built it.
- **It fits an existing workflow.** Clean export to Webflow, Figma, React and HTML — it slots in rather than demanding you adopt a new platform.
- **It's Australian-built.** Founded and headquartered in Sydney, bootstrapped and remote-first. Support and community responsiveness line up with Australian hours. Nothing else in this category can say that.
- **Higher overall score.** 18/25 to Framer's 17/25, driven mainly by feature depth and its Sydney base.

## Where Framer wins

- **It ships the actual site.** One tool, prompt to published. No export, no second subscription, no Webflow skills required.
- **Best-looking output in the category.** Studio-grade motion and typography straight out of a no-code tool.
- **Lower, clearer entry price.** A$13/mo on yearly billing, in Australian dollars with GST applied at checkout, beats Relume's opaque, higher per-seat cost.
- **Excellent performance and hosting.** Framer sites are fast and stable, with capable (if non-AU-time) support.
- **No third tool needed.** For a solo builder without Webflow, Framer is a complete answer on its own.

## Australian fit

Neither tool bills natively in AUD, but they miss the mark differently.

**Relume** has the strongest Australian-fit story in the category — Sydney-founded, Sydney-headquartered, on Australian time. We scored its Australian fit 4/5\. Two gaps hold it back: its pricing page doesn't confirm AUD billing or itemised GST, and it doesn't publish where customer project data is hosted. For marketing-site work that data-residency gap is low-stakes, but an Australian buyer deserves it stated.

**Framer** scores 3/5 on Australian fit, up from 2/5 in June. It now bills in AUD (Basic A$13, Pro A$40 a month on yearly billing) with tax added at checkout, which should apply GST on an Australian purchase; what still holds it back is offshore hosting with no Australian region, no local-hours support, and AI copy that defaults to US spelling.

For data residency, both are offshore or unstated, so neither suits Legal, Finance or HR work where hosting location is a hard requirement. For a standard marketing site, that rarely matters. On origin, support timing and local credibility, Relume wins this section clearly.

## Which to pick — decision framework

- **You already work in Webflow or Figma?** Pay for Relume. It plugs into your workflow and saves the most hours.
- **You want one tool, prompt to live site, and no Webflow?** Pay for Framer. It builds and hosts in one place.
- **The site's look-and-feel is the entire product — a brand, portfolio or launch page?** Pay for Framer. Nothing here matches its polish.
- **You're a studio doing repeat client sites?** Run both: Relume to draft structure, Framer or Webflow to build. Relume earns its seat fastest across many projects.
- **You want the lowest, clearest AUD entry price?** Framer, at A$13/mo on yearly billing with GST at checkout.
- **You want prompt-to-finished-website with no design tool at all?** Neither is ideal — look at Wix instead. Relume hands off; Framer assumes design instinct.

## The verdict

For the typical Australian buyer this piece is written for — a solo builder or small studio building marketing sites — pay for **Relume**.

The reason is the value maths, not the sticker price. Framer is cheaper to start and clearer on GST. But Relume replaces the slowest part of the job: turning a blank brief into a structured, styled, copy-filled draft. Do that across several client sites and the per-seat cost pays back fast. Add the genuine Sydney origin and the local-hours support, and it earns its 18/25 and its edge over Framer's 16/25.

Buy Framer instead in one clear case: the finished site's look is the whole product, you want one tool to build and host, and you have design instinct to drive its canvas. For a high-end brand or portfolio page with no separate build tool, Framer is the better single purchase.

If you can only justify one subscription and you already touch Webflow or Figma, it's Relume. If you have no build tool and polish is everything, it's Framer.

Update history
- **28 Sep 2026** — **Framer bills in AUD now, and its score is 17/25.** framer.com/pricing read in the in-app browser on an Australian connection: Basic A$13 and Pro A$40 a month on yearly billing, editors A$26, tax at checkout — where June's page (and this comparison) had USD and "no native AUD price". Framer's Australian Fit rose 2 → 3/5 in its review the same day, total 16 → 17\. Score cells, both price tables, the AU-billing row and the pricing paragraph updated; Relume's own figures were not re-read this pass. Winner unchanged: Relume still leads 18 to 17, and its Sydney origin still carries the local edge. [Framer pricing](https://www.framer.com/pricing/?ref=theaidirectory.com.au)
- **24 Sep 2026** — **The AUD column was never grossed up for GST, and every word around it said it was.** The header read *“gross-up; GST unconfirmed”* and the note beneath described a 10% uplift — while the figures themselves are plain conversions at 1.4045\. Checked before changing a word: across the 63 files carrying this wording, **141 rows convert at 1.4045 and none at 1.4045 × 1.10**. **No figure changed here; only the description of them did.** Two things were wrong beyond the arithmetic: *gross-up* names a tax uplift and was being used for a currency conversion, and *GST unconfirmed* is stale — our GST rule settled it on 5 September 2026, and a GST-registered Australian business supplying its ABN is **not charged GST** on an imported digital service. **No USD price moved and no score changed.** `reviewed:` untouched per our dating rule.
